Absolutely amazing, I can’t say one thing bad about it. The people were amazing some couldn’t speak English but tried their hardest to understand me.
The food was ok but I only really ate chips. The rooms were really clean and the cleaning staff done an amazing job, they filled our mini bar up everyday. The swimming pool is great I was up at the swim up bar everyday chatting to the bar staff about what drinks to try.
Whoever is thinking of going don’t hesitate, it shouldn’t be 4 star it should be 5 star I would definitely go again.

Excellent value for money when you consider you are paying the equivalent of a moderate European resort for a long haul flight, a amazing climate and beautiful island.
The Hotel was a better standard than I expected, and was great for kids. The staff are friendly and try hard, the food at best is average. I guess it is tough to feed 5-600 people at a sitting in temperatures of 100+ degrees, but if you are expecting high culinary standards this is not for you, it is edible, but gets hard work in the second week.
What this holiday offers you is superb value and a fantastic time for all kids.

This hotel was featured in Airtours brochure as 4AAAA but barely reached 2 star.
food in Jimmy’s buffet was covered in flies and therefore inedible.
Unless you book the restaurants one week in advance you have no chance.
the pool towels were no existent, but if you did get one it was filthy and smelly.
We were all sick and had diarrhoea, and had to be treated for crypto speridium upon our return.
Save yourself the trouble of the worst 2 weeks of your lives and go somewhere else!

This was my 1st time in Puerto Rico & was given good reports by a few people so booked with Portland for a week for £250.
The resort is a about 30mins from the airport & is in a steep sided valley which makes it difficult to get up to the higher accommodation but the Puerto Plata is half way up which isn't to bad. The room was ok very clean & the maids came in 5 times in the week, which is very rare. The balcony gave a great view of the marina & beach & was a nice size. The bathroom was very good for this money & the beds were very comfy.
The pool was good but a little cool at first but when its 30degrees that’s not so bad. I must pay particular attention to the Vista Grill Restaurant on the site, which was excellent & had a good selection of Local fish dishes & Steak dishes at very good prices the service is also very friendly & polite(especially if you speak a little Spanish). Also the bar which is attached to the restaurant is very friendly with bar staff that had a good line in bar tricks that kept us in there all night.
The pool bar is awful though & would avoid as the food is rubbish & the soft drinks extortionate.
Also as a note avoid the commercial centre at the bottom of the valley as the promotion staff are rude & a pain in the ****.
I would give the resort 7/10 & the hotel 9/10.

At arriving at Breezes our impressions were not good. Staff were unfriendly and spoke little English.
We were left to find our room alone (740 to pick from).
No welcome drink and our room was not ready, which after an 10 hour flight with our 2 and a half year old daughter was not acceptable.
On locating the room was dirty and unclean. The next room offered was in a really bad location, overlooking a generator. By this time I was getting a little peed off. The third and final room although had a sea view, was above the amphitheatre, so very noisy.
Room very basic not of a 4* Deluxe standard as quoted in the brochure.
Staff were miserable unless tipped at every available moment.
Kids Club did not exist, Mini Disco was held in the smelly, dirty and smoke filled dingy nightclub (very unsuitable for children), not even a window.
Hotel was full of Americans and French-speaking Canadians whom tip staff and jump queues. I witnessed them pulling sunloungers into the swimming pool for fun. Also the were smoking huge cigars in the pool which was not nice.
Food: This was my main problem, the a' la Carte restaurants you could not pre-book and had to queue from 5pm - 6pm just to make a later reservation. The restaurants were not accepting large bookings of more than around 6 people.
Buffet: large volumes of food, cooked on mass, left uncovered for long periods. Food from lunch was served at dinner, food from dinner was served for breakfast ( I am not keen on chicken wings for my breakfast).
No waiter service around the pool, which meant that plates and cups were left for flies to have a field day.
Plastic knives and forks to eat with during day.
We had to wait to get drink from three bars but if I spoke with American accent I could get served much quicker.
Hotel can’t cope with the demands of the amount of people it is catering for.
Otherwise an Ok ish holiday.
Beach was stunning, weather was good and people we met were nice.

We went to the Dominican Republic, not quite sure what to expect and wasn’t disappointed. The hotel was fantastic - 5 restaurants to choose from - although you have to book for them, except Jimmy’s which is the buffet. The rooms are very clean, but lack storage. An iron & ironing board are standard as is a CD player. Alcoholic is freely available, including international brands. Trips to do are Dominican discovery, which is really good fun & do a helicopter trip, $90 for 20 minutes, worth every penny. Do take some form of insect repellent, I used Avon’s skin-so-soft, which worked for me. If you need a holiday where you can forget about everything this is the place!

Best holiday ever!! From the moment we arrived there the people were so friendly, waving at us on the bus from their homes on our way to the hotel. The hotel was really nice, sitting right on the beach.
Food and drink available up until 3 in the morning! We went on a couple of excursions while we were there and the tour guide was fantastic! He never stopped dancing on the back of the jeep and on our way back we were playing spin the bottle with a bottle of rum and whoever it landed on had to take a swig!!!

Very exhausting day but well well worth the money. We were only there for a week which was very unfortunate because I could have very easily stayed there for longer. Sad too have to come home!
