Kariwak Village Holistic Haven and Hotel

This is the most beautiful little resort. Thatched cabanas round the pool and gardens. There is a lovely waterfall pool in the garden where you can go for a midnight swim under the stars (loads!) and moon. The gardens are immaculate, some trees and shrubs named and colourful lizards scuttle around.
Lots of hummingbirds dart around and breakfast is accompanied by suggy birds in the open thatched restaurant. The food is out of this world with imaginative meals made from local ingredients prepared using the herbs that grow in the large herb garden outside the kitchens. Breakfast is different every day, delicate scrambled eggs with herbs, coconut bread and real lovely hot chocolate! I never liked pumpkin until I tasted their pumpkin soup.
The owner and the staff are charming. You can join in with the yoga class in the mornings and there are a variety of massages, all holistic and very relaxing. I can't think of a place I would rather be than the Kariwak. All your cares are left at the airport and I hate leaving to come home.
