More Traveller Reviews of Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Hotel
Amazing holiday, perfect for young children
from rosieskyes
We have just returned from ten blissful days at the Hilton Beach Resort and Spa in Ras Al Khaimah and I cannot praise the resort enough. The rooms were large and stylish with a large bath, walk in shower, his and hers washbasins and complimentary Crabtree & Evelyn cosmetics. We were upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the beach and the view was amazing. The food at the hotel was 5 star, cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients. The resort has 5 pools, our three year old loved the pool with the slide and our 18 month loved the big "paddling" pool set off from the beach. One word of warning - take plenty of child's swim nappies with you as you can't buy any out there, even in Mothercare and Carrefour.

What a fantastic time we had surpassed all expectations. Food ,service, hotel staff, bedrooms lay-out just everything was perfect If you are going here take elasticated waists on clothes with you as the food is excellent with something for everyone. You are treated like a guest not a nusiance and they try to do everything for you.Fanatastic beach club with several buses per day to take you there.

We stayed here for a week in Feb 2007. The hotel is lovely, room average size but comfortable and cleaned every day. Food was good and there was plenty (we stayed all inclusive but didn't really make the most of it!!) and the staff will do anything to help. The pool-side is good, with comfy loungers and cushions, and plenty of towels supplied, but the only thing that spoilt our days there was the noise of the building site immediately next door. Until it's finished, we'd recommend you use the Beach Club. Lovely and peaceful away from the children's pool (except when it was aqua-aerobics, but we'd mistakenly picked loungers right by the speakers!). We didn't have any trouble with rugby scrums at shuttle pick-up times, and found it very restful indeed. We didn't bother with the beach apart from a walk along the shore - sand gets everywhere! but the split level pools were great, and there was plenty of choice in loungers. Feb is a good time to visit the RAK - the temperature is just right, averaging 26-27 degrees and there aren't enought people around to make it over-crowded. Not a huge amount to do in RAK, but if all you want is sun and rest, this is a good place to go.
A nice and welcome expereince

Hilton Ras Al Khaimah. What can I say? Apart from the fact that I was not aware that that when I was booking for the Hilton, it was Hilton in RAK and not Dubai (so much for my geography), but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Hilton Ras Al Khaimah. It is really very nice, clean, very very friendly and just exquisite. The staffs have been the friendliest I have met so far and then I have been to a few hotels. They will always greet and with a smile. The check in was very fast and smooth. The rooms were clean and the general surrounding really bright and nice. When we went to the restaurant, we were treated very well and the Manager came out to introduce himself and have a few chat. Then I thought, what a nice man. It was the 2nd day; it dawned on me that I have read of this guy on this very same site. I was astonished because he is exactly what all have said about him. He is a very nice famous friendly guy. He makes everyone at the restaurant feel very special as if it was only you he talked to and I am sure all the other guests felt the same. He gave us tips on the markets to go, how far they are, on the nice tours and just general chit chat. He looked out for us and came over to say hello. Also all the other staff, in fact all of them were trememedous. They go out of their way to have a chat and make you feel like royalty On my birthday, they got me a cake and the staff came out to present the cake to me. I was surprised and really happy. Only for me to get to my room and the front office staff have also left another cake. It was smiles from me and my sister all around. I was really very happy. All they did really made my day. Thank you Bernard and the restaurant staff as well as the Front office. In addition, we were chosen to receive a courtesy kandahar wristwatch as a touristy kind of thing what was courtesy of the Hotel and the RAK government which went down well as our pictures were on the watch. Cool! The beach club was nice and again the staff very friendly and helpful. We had half board so cannot really comment on the food at the Beach Club. But we liked the place very very much. I will certainly come back here again One downside is that it is quite far from Dubai (1 hour plus) and Hilton Ras Al Khaimah does run a Monday, Wednesday and Friday free bus shuttle to Dubai which leave at 1030 and leaves Dubai for 1930. Things are generally cheaper at RAK that at Dubai which we found out and quickly ran back to RAK to do our shopping which included gold. I know this is quite long but I was really grateful to all the others who wrote on this site and also want to contribute. I hope you find this helpful. We did the Desert Safari with Hormuz Adventures and they were really good. Sulaiman, our driver, was really very good and fun to be with. I was not too impressed with their city tour though. I know I had a lot of recommendation from Arabian Adventures but their administration was not really nice at all (quite disappointing) but they tried their best. The India full body massge was also nice and the executive housekeep, Rita was really helpful to us. Thank you Rita. I will recommend this place t others.
A great hotel

Stayed in the Hilton RAK for 5 nights this June. The weather was superb, as we had been in the UAE for several days already and I have to say that I was getting used to all the heat and humidity. As part of the tour we were on, we were collected at our hotel in Dubai and the driver was just lovely, very helpful and respectful. After getting our keys etc we toddled up to the 3rd floor and I was pleasantly surprised to say the rooms were a good size, light and airy. The twin beds were queen in size which I appreciated and there was a welcome plate waiting for us, a plate of date cookies and almond stuffed dates, with plenty of complimentary bottled water and tea/coffee supplies. The Hilton bathrobes were nice too as was the bathroom. The staff were fantastic, the housekeeping staff were great, our beds turned down each night and when asked if we could have a few more sachets of coffee, produced enough teabags, sugar and coffee for a week. The chap got a tip for his helpfulness and on arriving back that afternoon, found 2 towels made up as swans - they were lovely. Each day after that we always came back to find a little something extra done. He even made my pyjamas into a bird shape! The hotel pool was lovely and clean, the pool staff very polite and very attentive. Nothing was too much bother. Spent a lovely evening relaxing by the pool watching the sun set (over the water filtration plant, but that's only being picky). The food was lovely at breakfast buffett and dinner there is a choice of several places to eat. The only gripe I had really, which was nothing to do with the hotel, was that there were several families there who let their young children run riot in the lobby and lounge areas. The poor staff were distracted trying to keep the diners happy and be as super polite as they were to every guest. More power to them, they had more patience than I would have!!! The hotel is quite close to the main mall in RAK city and even though taxis were plentiful, we walked there one night and had a lovely stroll there and back - a definite no no when the sun is out! A courtesy bus is laid on to take guests to the beach and a bus to take you into Dubai as well. We booked a few tours with the tour operator in the lobby (lovely gentleman beside the lifts) and enjoyed several fabulous tours which really made the trip for us. Would I stay at the Hilton RAK again? You betcha I would. Especially as you can get henna tattoos done there! I got a large tat on my foot and up my leg and was most annoyed when it eventually faded!!!
A Real Holiday Experience
from 9AndySmith
RAK was recommended to us by people who had lived there.I initially wanted to go to Dubai but we decided on RAK because of the continual references to major building work in Dubai. Emirates flight good, transfer good but I must admit feeling my heart sink as we went further out from Dubai through the other less developed Emirates. On arriving at RAK ,the drive to the hotel did not give me any more encouragement. The position of the hotel is on a creek ! No it is a demolished industrial dock with a desalination plant/electrical generator opposite. Heart heavy to the floor I entered the hotel. Thats when something kicked in and never left me and the family for the rest of the holiday. Like other people have already stated we were made to feel genuinely special by all staff who as far as I am concerned are the best I have had the pleasure to encounter. I agree hotel not 5 star but the whole holiday was well that level. Never slept so well on a holiday, rooms great and well maintained.Always fresh bottled water left daily.resturant and the now famous Bernard were unbelievable, food excellent. I f anything special needed they would get it. Pool is not brilliant but beach club is. The staff there are also fantastic especially Barni the boat man.I fell in love with this place and its people why ,because it was unspoilt and we felt we had arrived in another culture and it was great to experience. My kids learnt alot from this holiday. We did not go all inclusive as we are not especially big drinkers ie 3 daily and we get up early and are ready for be at 10.30. Meals ae very good value at the beach club and consequently all in all we saved a few hundred pounds. Trips - Musandam-Incredible,snorkelling on coral reefs seeing wild dolphins and thousands of Cormarants. Desert Safari - Brilliant If we were there longer we would have done the Dubai trip. Like most people I have already recommended this place .We have stlll to come down. So what do they say about first impressions?
Pure Indulgence

Two adults and one child arrived in the morning following an overnight flight. Transfer to the hotel took an hour and a half and first impressions were disappointing to say the least (even after being warned by the travel agent -thanks Bobby @ Value Added Travel). The hotel is 5* rated but is a bit dated in terms interior design and in some areas resembled the set from crossroad. There are no impressive views or beach front just a well manicured front garden. Staff more than make up for very poor first impressions and provided a service that cannot be faulted. We were greeted in the lobby with complimentary Arabic hot drinks and were rested in our room within 15minutes of arrival. Could not have breakfast even though it was still being served on our arrival and were given details of our all inclusive option which started at 12.00 that day. Food is excellent - different themed buffet every afternoon and evening and would certainly rate the restaurant and restaurant staff as 5*. Accompanied by very fussy 5 year old who turned his nose up at evrything put in front of him Bernard was exceptional and ensured that a special meal of his liking was cooked for him every evening. Nothing was too much trouble for him and I left the restaurant each evening feeling like I had been treated like royalty. Grace and Sherry were also extremely helpful and again, nothing was too much trouble. The pool was ok but a bit shabby around the edges. Again staff at the poolside restaurant, catered for your every whim, and you did not have to leave your lounger when ordering food and drink. Beach club was excellent, beautiful surroundings and view and again staff simply couldnt do enough for you. Shuttle bus to beach club was good but we had to be on the 10.00 am service to guarantee sun loungers in our favourite spot. Food at the beach club is excellent and the all inclusive option really is great value for money if you plan to spend the whole day there. Great place for children and several pools and the sea to choose from. If you wait for the 6.00pm bus you may find it cramped as most people seemed to leave at that time, be prepared to fight your corner if you have queued ever so politely and some not so polite guests decide to jump on before you!!! Word of warning "all inclusive option" ends at 10.00pm which isnt great if you want a late evening meal and a 3 or 4 hours in the lounge or at the bar afterwards. Hoof and Fin excellent value for money but felt similar options were available at the main restaurant during our stay. Lots of tours and excursions available but if you want a shopping holiday dont stay in RAK. This really is a place for winding down, doing nothing and being pampered. Stay in Dubai if you want a cosmopolitan time. RAK is unspoilt and off the beaten track a real look at the real UAE. On going building work in the immediate vicinity did not hamper our stay and look forward to returning to the new resort at the beach club or back to the hotel. Staff really do make a difference at this hotel their attention to detail is pretty much amazing. Would recommend to anyone wanting a pleasant and peaceful relaxing break
RAK Hilton 'Spot on'
from kirkyboy
My wife and i stayed at the RAK Hilton from the 14th to the 22nd September, we had an excellent time. The staff were helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The buffet was good with a very good selection which catered for almost everybodys needs. The beach club was good and the sea temp around 33/ 34C. Ok there is some building going on to the right hand side of the cove but it did not effect my beach time !!. I think that the beach dining area should be more shaded as the temp and humidity, even a week ago were high (41C). We took the hotel shuttle bus to Dubai one day which was interesting but made us feel better that we had chosen RAK for our holiday (thats what I call building work ) The all inclusive deal was good and you had to ask for a single otherwise it was a double. All in all 'SPOT ON'
GREAT VALUE

Not 5 Star now but close on many things.food was best we have had in any Hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful. Very hot but it mattered not as everything every where was air-conditioned and 40 or 43 degrees outside was quite comfortable. Only criticism is that the Hotel pool was "tired" and several tiles were missing but it was large and had a part slatted cover over the shallow end to stop sun stroke. The Beach club was lovely and several much better pools there. You can get free transport to Dubai but needs you to stay there for 7 hours so smaller excusions were for us. We can particularly recommend the City Evening Tour. Suggest you ask for Andrea the German girl to take you in A 4 BY 4 She was so helpful and interesting. Ramadan started whilst we were there and it was great fun to see the Arabs letting ther hair down after dark. We felt safe everywhere whch is a modern day luxury. We would go again Derek Jarratt
RAK Truly Rocks Man!!!!!
from FD1981
My partner and I stayed at the Hilton from Sept 2nd - Sept 16th 2006 and our holiday was divine and wonderful the local Emirati people were very hospitable and friendly. Having previously stayed in a 3 & 4 star hotel in Dubai on 2 previous holidays, we were apprehensive on what the Hilton at RAK had to offer us. What we discovered was a tranquil, peaceful, and quiet area, were visitors were able to relax and enjoy a peaceful time away. Although I would only rate this hotel as a 3 and a half star hotel based on the following reasons; (1) The Gym is woefully small and cannot take anymore than 5 grown adults at any one time - why is the a/c on floor level? (2) The size and layout of our room was exactly the same as a 3 star hotel we stayed in last year in Dubai. (3) The whole ambience does not evoke that extra feeling of sumptuousness. But apart from the above issues it goes without saying that the service from the hotels team is definitely of a 5 stars calibre. We also saw more Emirati Arabs (Fantastic - As one comes to the Middle East to mingle with Arabs) during our 2 weeks in RAK than we ever saw in the two years of going to Dubai on holiday. We also booked the excursions to go to Musandem - Oman (Oh My God), Desert Safari (Wow - Adrenalin), Dreamland Aqua Park (Ancient - Go to Wild Wadi in Dubai). Regarding the Resort - it looks very nice with its beach front location, but I don’t see it being completed this year. For shopping you are better of booking the free coach to Dubai as the local mall does not offer premium or mainstream brands and products. Apologies if you find my review exhaustive, but I thought having been there why not share the experience with others.
