You get waht you paid for and it's good value for money
from Indrija
We stayed at Diana Park this May for a week, paid 185 pound for two adults and a bay, including breakfast. I read all the reviews on trip adviser, so more or less i knew what is going to be there. I have to say regardless of all the different views and opinions hotel is great value for money and located just of the motorway like most of the Costa del Sol hotels, because it is the way the coastal line is in that part of Spain. To find it it is not so hard if you concentrate on finding the hotel rather then sightseeing. Keep an eye on the motorway and do not miss the exit on the km. 168,5, because if you miss it, you have to go forwards and backwards on the motorway again. Hotel can be seen form the motorway and has few road signs too. But as somebody already mentioned, Marriott is just in the other side of the motorway and they have sings everywhere, so keep it in mind too. Regarding the hotel itself, rooms could do with a little bit of painting, but once you get used to them, they are alright, cleaned every day. bathroom not new, but in good order and at least in our room, wasn't new, but good quality and fitted I would say around 10 years ago. Friendly and helpful staff, big swimming pool. enough space and sun beds for not so busy may, but might get a bit crowded during the busy summer months. Nice garden for kids to run around or for grownups to have a drink or meal outside. it is little gymnasium too, for these who wants to lose some extra pounds ;) Breakfast gives you good start for a day and it is 6.50 euros per person. It consist of continental, English + Spanish cooked breakfast. Dinner help yourself buffet, we had it once and it was ok, but you could spend 35 euros (with drinks) elsewhere and get really good traditionally cooked meal( ex: Benahavis village 7km away - place called El asador de Benahavis - (just in front of the church) Plaza de la Iglesia 4- beautiful traditionaly made food). I would recommend hotel restaurant for your own experience, but i doubt you will come back. You will need a car to get around, but most of the holiday makers do rent cars nowadays anyway. Hotel in very good location for these wanting to visit Gibraltar for shopping, Ronda, Benahavis and Mijas - for pictures mountain villages, and of course Marbella, Puerto Banus for rich and famous sightseeing, Fuengirolla - for family day out.And if you are thinking to visit Morocco for a day, We had not the nicest experiences in Tangier, better stay on the beach, but if interested i will write a review on that too, so watch the space for Tangier :)
Good value

Stayed 25 and 26 Jan 2008. Paid £54 for 2 people half board. Excellent 3 star hotel. The breakfast and dinner was good value with good selection and quality of food. The room was clean with one bed and TV. Our bathroom was modern and clean. We had a balcony. The pool area was large and well maintained and the grounds of the hotel was tropical. There was free secure car parking. The area had plenty of restuarants in the area and the hotel was a good spot for visiting gibralter. It was on situated in the centre of estepona, but a distance outside near the main road. The only difficulty was finding the hotel, as access off the main road was limited. Would stay again for value for mioney
spotlessly clean with a hint of faulty towers
from keldom
Hotel Diana Park what can I say Firstly i am writing this review as i booked last minute and really was worried particulary as it was so cheap to stay there and I have never stayed in 3 star accomodation before. I read all the reviews and made a pack with myself to write mine. I traveled with my nine yr old son and my mother. We decided to do away with airport transfers as they were £160 and hire a car for £55 for the week instead, with the idea to drive to the hotel from the airport. Unfortunately we were delayed and arrived in spain at 4 am so we ended up getting a taxi to the hotel which cost £75. On arrival to the hotel we were greated by the 24 hrs reception clerk and shown to our room. It was a triple room and spotlessly clean. Basic but with a modern bathroom. and i am quite fussy. The pool area is massive and in season would be fantastic but in Dec a heated pool would be beneficial as it was way to cold to swim in. There were also a pool table and ping pong table outside. Now the staff this is where the faulty towers link comes in. There is no entertainment in the hotel and just one indoor area to sit in next to the bar with about 6 cafe style tables. The majority of the staff were really helpful. Manu and Frankie manned the bar area and waited in the restaurant. There english was fantastic with personalities that matched. There was one other staff member whom i will not mention names but he wasnt really keen on the idea of guests in the hotel but this made the experience all the funnier. We got pally with the other english guests ( about 16 all together ) mainly cos it wasnt and english hotel and mainly cos there was nowhere else to go to socialise. The hotel is not in Estapona or near Marbella either. without a car you really are stranded there is no beach nearby either or any amenities nearby You are on a bus route but this didnt really help if you were looking for local markets as they was always some walking involved. Taxi's were really expensive. The food in the Hotel continued in the faulty towers style. You never went hungry but you didnt really know what you were eating either. The deserts never changed we ate the same thing all week, but there was always bread and soup. We only had chips once. Breakfast wasnt worth getting up for only to perhaps get a cup of tea as there were not tea or coffee facilities in the rooms. But there were two places next door were you could get a full english for around 4 to 6 euro's. But you get what you pay for. Also note if you are travelling at Christmas or new year like we were the hotel does not celebrate xmas and new yr at all. Overall I dont think i wold go back to the hotel but with the english people we met we had a thoroughly fantastic time. I would just like to say a big thank you to all my English friends and to Manu and Frankie cos guys you really were fun and fantastic entertainment. All my love Kelli
Diana Park is Lovely
from 5goldenhills
We had to visit Spain on business and stayed for two days at the hotel. You can't really see the hotel from the main road because it is shrouded by bushes and we only booked it because it was cheap. However, once you enter the hotel area you get quite a shock, its lovely and really quiet. Once inside its hard to believe that it's right on a main road. We had such a lovely time. Our room was on the ground floor and as we opened the double doors you could see the view of the beautiful pool. The weather was gloriously hot, the sky was blue and we had sunbeds right outside our patio doors. It was very quiet at the hotel and so relaxing. Although we did not eat at the hotel because we know the area and there are so many wonderful restaurants nearby we did visit the bar for a drink where the staff were relaxed and friendly and the drinks were very reasonably priced. We would recommend the hotel because in our opinion it was fantastic value for money and we just loved it!
Excellent hotel (but not in Estepona)
from niddapproach
The hotel is not in Estepona but 14 kms away,on a main highway (no traffic noise) that makes it excellent if travelling the area, easy for Gibralter,Marbella etc . Good points: Very clean rooms and communal area's,free secure parking, excellent helpful staff, pool area very good, terrific value for money.Ample breakfast with reasonable choice. The rooms are quite large with a good size full bathroom There are a few restaurants and bars within a five minute walk where there is also a supermarket. Not so good: If you are allocated a ground floor room you can at times hear a little noise from the above room, ask for a 2nd floor room? If you are looking for a beach holiday then this is not the hotel for you If you have no transport you will be very limited. Overall: A very good hotel for the price paid excellent as a base for exploring/travelling the area.
very clean

we stayed at the hotel diana park for 7 nights on a half board basis. we chose this hotel as it is within reach of all the places we like to go. we go back to the same area every year as we enjoy it so much and used to live in the area too. we love the food especially and have many favourite restaurants. but back to the hotel, the rooms were lovely and clean and the cleaners come in every day and change your towels. the swimming pool was lovely too and very well kept, well all of the hotel was kept very well. the drinks prices were also good, about 4 euros cheaper than in the local bars. we had breakfast everyday which was a very good choice and the croissants were lovely and fresh. we stayed for dinner 1 evening and although it was good it wasnt what we were in spain for, we love the spanish food, paella, calamares, fresh fish, jamon serano, its all so tasty and the bread and olive oil is the best. who needs butter. so we ate out every night. i would most definitely stay at the diana park again, it has very good security and good parking facilities if you have a car. it is 40 mins from malaga airport and 40 mins from gibralter, puerto banus is 10 mins away same as estepona so is very central to all the local places of interest. the beach nearby is also very good, very clean and the beach bar la vela azul is superb.
Loved Diana

Very nice and cheap hotel. We stayed 3 nights, after 10 days of visiting Spain and Portugal. The personnel was helpful, the breakfast good, the swimming pool clean, we really enjoyed it. The only thing you need, if you want to explore the neighborhood or the Mediterranean beaches is a car.
Have to recommend
from rmk2005
This is a great place to stay, staff are genuinely friendly and always ready to help. The room I had was clean, with plenty of very hot water, towels and plenty of soap. I arrived from Malaga Airport and paid 80 euros in a taxi to get to the Hotel, however, a bus to Marbella and another ( Number 27) to Isdabe costs only 5 Euros, so that's how I got back !! Thanks to all at Diana Park Hotel and best wishes from René
A roadside resort
from LuiTravel
Date of arrival: 28/12/06 Date of departure: 01/01/07 The purpose: To spent a short vacation and the end of the year with my girlfriend. I´m Portuguese. We were on a 8 hour car trip from Lisbon to Estepona. If you are travelling to Spain without a GPS device I seriously recommend Michelen website or guide, it´s great!! Diana Park is one of the cheapest hotels in Estepona/Marbella area. You can find it at the Internet at almost half the price of a regular hotel in this area. If you are travelling in the off season or if you are spending one or two days at the area, I recommend this hotel The Room: Positive: The air conditioning works (someone at Trip advisor says it doesn´t .. so it was a good surprise); the room was clean and we were overall satisfied with the housekeeping, free safe deposit. Negative: First impression - we´ve found cockroach at the bathroom; Very old furniture; the window knob was a kind of broken so i wasn´t too sure if the room was really a safe place. Public Areas: Positive: Free parking, closed and with video vigilance (it´s difficult and expensive to park in Marbella); great public areas and gardens; a small gymnasium; appropriate swimming pool; generous public areas. Negative: The room corridors aren´t closed so its always cold and windy; Food: Positive: Drinks prices; Negative: Poor quality; lack of variety: The dinner menu is almost the same everyday, the deserts are disgusting; The breakfast could be better. Location: Positive: Great location, you are next to San Pedro de Alcantara, Puerto Banús, Marbella, Malaga, Algeciras and Gibraltar.. and even Ceuta or Tanger. Negative: To get there... The a main road (A-7) will lead you everywhere. This main road passes by the hotel. The easiest way to find it: Go straight ahead in the A-7 to Estepona, after San Pedro you will find a right turn, then immediately turn right. Get used to "Cambio de sentido" it will be useful. If you don't go by car.. rent one! Staff: Friendly staff but not so useful. Don't be surprised if you don't find anyone at the reception or at the restaurant. REMEMBER: This hotel is not a resort, this is a roadside hotel. The Ritz-Carlton is very close, but you will pay for 1 night p/person the same that i´ve payed for a 4 night double room for two persons at Diana Park. Spend a few nights at this hotel, rent a car and explore the south of Spain. Forget the luxury and if you get tired of the hotel food try one of the many roadside or marbella restaurants, i´m sure that you still have budget for it. Go to Gibraltar, take a boat to Africa or see how the rich people have fun at Puerto Banús, but don't forget.... enjoy it!!
Quite a beautiful hotel
from FifiTBelle
This was the first time I had been abroad. I saw the Hotel on the internet and when we went there I loved it! it is very colourful with a lovely blue pool outside, palm trees and at night when I went out on the balcony the trees were lit up with small lights...very romantic and pretty. It was a relief to have air conditioning in the room as it was quite hot in June 04. The room was clean and every time we came back the towels had been changed and the beds made, very tidy. I loved the breakfast buffet...there was such a selection to eat, we were full for a while after that! The only problem I would have with the place is how to get there but once we found it, it was fine. It is better if you have a car...I'm going back this year and trying the bus this time so been trying to get as many directions from the internet as I can...quite tricky. The cap parking was good as you had to buzz and there was always someone there who soon got to know you. Overall I loved it which is why I'm going back!

Very comfortable and clean, the Diana Park Hotel is in a lovely setting although you would not think so when you approach it. The air conditioning unit is very noisy and keeps you awake but it is a must at 34 degrees, especially when you have to shut the doors due to... more
