We had a fabulous holiday and booked our beautiful apartment with Gaynor & Richard at Atlantic Horizons. They have an on site office, and everything was there for us.
The weather was great and we spent some time round the pool and at the beach. Loads of sunbeds at the pool, so no problems.
The complex is in a brilliant location close to the centre and the beach, with a huge choice of eating places. El Brasero on the edge of thecomplex is great.
We had a superb holiday and the peace of mind ib selecting our apartment location before hand was a 'life saver'.
We can't thank Gaynor & Richard enough for making our holiday such a success, so much so, that we have already booked our apartment with them for 2009.
We will definitely tell our friends!

Pleasantly surprised. Though did not care for the two flights of steps. The room made up for it. Nice view of pool. Spiral staircase was a novelty the downstairs was enough for us two.
Plenty to do at night. Went to Lewinsky’s down the road. Nice meals at Angus steak house, on the block as Netto. Will go to Christian sur again. We also found good Irish bars, Irish times was excellent as was o'flahertys, cheers bar near Christian sur had good tribute acts really enjoyed Rod Stewart, also saw Cher, a very good act. We were very near to the bus terminal, had some nice trips, that’s when I wasn’t in the nearby Chinese store it was full of all sorts of weird stuff.

We LOVED this place. We stayed here form 15/06/07 till 29/06/07 it was brilliant.
We did not have the trouble that others had with loungers, there were plenty! The only thing I would say that was disappointing was the weather it was only sunny for 2 days out of 14!!
Also there is a man who hangs around outside the hotel asking for a "euro for a quick phone call". He was there every single day of our holiday and asked the same thing each day. Don't give him your money he is a weirdo!
Our room was gorgeous, the maids came almost every day. The staff there were very very helpful. All in all it was a lovely place, just a shame about the weather!!

Fabulous holiday. Had tonnes of fun. The resort is all very clean and well kept. The Cristian Sur has a certain buzz about it and the pool and trees are the perfect holiday photo. Very close beach.
Lots of parks at Tenerife such as:
The Aqua Park (more for 10+ ages)
The sky Park (any age group)
Las Aguilas (eagle park)
Mini Monkey Zoo
Loro Parque (Parrot Park)
and many more. 10/10!

We had a terrible time there.
As other reviewers have said there is a distinct lack of loungers and definitely not enough to go round.
Although we found a stack of them all chained up which the management refused to allow us access to, saying these were for the private residents only.
Which is another point they don't tell you about in the brochure, a lot of the apartments are privately owned be people who live there all the time so be prepared to be kept awake all night by the residents cats catterwalling to each other.
The decor is extremely dated and our apartment was dirty and unhygienic as all the Formica in the food prep area was in need of renewal.
The water pressure was clearly in need of attention as you would only get a trickle when turning on the tap and the shower was not much better.
Our balcony did not get the sun and instead of looking onto the pool, was above a busy dusty road.
Would thoroughly advise AGAINST going there. Maybe we just got a bad room though.

Although we had expressed a wish to stay at the Cristian Sur, mainly because it was a smaller hotel and also holiday reports I'd read all said it was the better hotel, we wasn't surprised when we were put in the Tenerif Sur as the holiday reports also said that most people were put in the Tenerif even though they had pacifically requested the Cristian. We found out later that the main reason for this is because most of the apartments are privately owned.
The Tenerif Sur comprises of a large white block of apartments at the opposite end to the entrance of the hotel and several low rise apartments built around the pool, a few it seems are privately owned.
I'll be honest we were a little disappointed when we first realised we would be staying in the large white block, however, we soon realised that it was probably the best place because although the outside was a little neglected and could do with a lick of paint and some flowers in the troughs, we were far enough away from the pool and road not to be bothered with too much noise.
The apartment was clean and smelt nice and although not very big there was ample room for two and besides we didn't plan on being there all the time so it was sufficient for out needs. It was cleaned most days and the bins emptied everyday, even Sunday. Although some reports stated that the staff were unfriendly and not very helpful, I can honestly say that we found them the opposite.
The only place we found the staff a little unfriendly were in the bar/restaurant which is located at the entrance to the hotel but it didn't bother us too much. The beaches are about 10-15 minutes walk but are well worth it.
Los Cristianos is a very pretty place and the beaches are cleaned everyday, there are a wide variety of restaurants in fact we were really spoilt for choice. It’s not as lively as their neighbour Playa Des Las Americas which is a bit grim to say the least, but there are still plenty of bars to choose from.
There were a few 'touts' trying to sell you something or pull you into bars/restaurants but not as may as we have experienced in other places we've stayed and they never really bothered us. It was our first visit to Tenerife and we really liked Los Cristianos, we will definitely go again and would even stay in the Tenerif Sur. Judy & Pete (55 & 58)

Wanted a relaxing week to chill out and was not disappointed by this choice of resort and accommodation. The apartment was basic but very clean and spacious, bedroom had en suite and the living area had separate WC facilities and well appointed facilities. Balcony overlooked the pool and got the sun from 1100 to 1900 each day.
Cleaning and linen change was every other day. The apartments were on three levels with good facilities for those with disability needs, all ground floor approaches had ramps for easy access. Two well stocked supermarkets on site were much cheaper than the one in the hotel across the road - prices were surprisingly good compared to mainland Spain etc. Breakfast available next door for about 5 euro.
An easy 10-15 min stroll took you down to the centre of Los Cristianos where the beach (the one around the corner from the harbour) was superb. Lovely sand both on the beach and in the water be careful with the little ones as the odd breaking wave was a little bit deceptive if they were playing on their own. Water was warm for the start of October and plenty of bars/shops to have a break, breakfast on the beach was about 4 euro for a full English breakfast. Restaurants were superb, we ate out every night, favourite was Gran Reserva, great menu and portions, superb service. A great value holiday and will certainly consider going back again.
Only annoying thing was all the usual handout of leaflets for this and that and touting for business for the very many restaurants when walking through the streets. However the easiest way was just to say no or like I did had a bit of fun by taking a handful and before the next one could give you a leaflet, offer them one of yours, they quickly got offside. For those who like a longer walk, Playa de las Americas can be easily reached in about 40 mins - well worth a visit to the vast array of shops.

We stayed in 2 apartments, 5 Violeta and 14 Anil, and both looked over the pool and were beautiful apartments with everything we could have asked for. The standard in comparison to tour operator apts was excellent.
Richard & Gaynor were really helpful and gave us a great rate for our Sterling. One morning a bulb in the bedroom had blown, so we mentioned it in passing, and within 2 minutes they had replaced this.
The complex is absolutely beautiful and very well looked after. Everything you need is in the area, food and drink, and Cristianos centre and the beach are a very pleasant 5 minute walk. We will definitely be back and booking with Atlantic Horizons.

Stayed at the Cristian Sur and my sister and her kids were across the street at the Tenerife Sur.
Spent most of the time around the pool at Cristian Sur, it was lovely and quiet and great for the kids (aged 3 - 10). We were up and about at 9ish every morning so we did not struggle to get a sun lounger but there were no queues just people hanging around waiting, all very friendly.
We loved our holiday, it was relaxing and fun. Just a short walk took us to the promenade where there are plenty of places to eat and drink.
The apartments were spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly. If there had been air conditioning and some evening entertainment it would have been perfection.
On the whole we had an excellent holiday.

We booked with Direct Holidays we had no problems I found them very efficient. The whole of the apartments room, pool, grounds to be very clean, the only downfall was entertainment there was none, you had to go out of the apartments to find any entertainment. Members of staff found to be very pleasant and spoke very good English.
Tenerife itself was a lovely place, places to eat we found a couple of places Dreamers and the Greedy Pig to be very reasonable which cost between 30 and 40 Euros for a family of 4.
People selling scratch cards are really bad especially during the day not many on the night time. The holiday in general unless you are in a hotel with entertainment for the kids which my children were 9 and 10 Tenerife Los Cristianos is not suitable for kids it is mostly for couples.

Our stay at the Cristian Sur was superb. I thoroughly enjoyed it and believe that the sunbed thing was not as bad as others have said!
It was clean, tidy, and friendly! I am going again this year! The room was a great room and had a great view from both of the 2 balconies! Right above a pool which was beautifully lit up at night! The staff were all great and hard working and very friendly!

I went to Christian Sur for 3 weeks last July with family and had a great stay.
We stayed in 2 different apartments - something Verde and 2 or 3 Violeta (not sure) they were both excellent.
The first apartment Verde, was 2 bed roomed. It had a spacious living room and kitchen and a lovely balcony looking over the beautiful main pool. Upstairs there was an ensuite bathroom with shower and a huge bedroom which slept 4 and a roof terrace. The apartment also had a bbq and washing machine!
Violeta was also lovely, ground floor, exquisite furnished also with a pool view.
The main pool (bigger) was usually very busy and there was a struggle for sunloungers but when we didn’t get any in time we just put our towels on the grass. The other pool is much quieter with no shortage of loungers.
Food in the hotel bar was very good value and lovely for a lunch!
But I would really recommend the Chinese treasure 7 Euros all u can eat, and also the ice cream shop mm! The Texas steak house was also a favourite and was visited 3 times 4 its chicken Miranda dish...delicious!!
If you want shopping I suggest las Americas...phenomenal shops with shops like Zara and mango 2!
Whales and dolphins boat trip however was disappointing! saw 2 small Wales...that was it! sea was very rough that day!
Richard and Gaynor were very helpful, if a problem was mentioned in passing it was fixed in a flash. We were very hot and straight away 2 fans were delivered to the room.
They also will let you keep money in a security deposit box in the office!!
Overall an excellent holiday and I would go back in a hurry!

My husband and I plus 2 children (9) and (6) just returned today from a fantastic holiday at the Tenerife Sur apartments. Accomadation was basic but extremely clean and couldn't fault the view from our apartment as we looked out over the pool.
Plenty of sunbeds, although did have to be down at the pool by 9am to insure a sunshade.
Onsite restaurants very good with pleasent freindly staff and good service offering a good selection of dishes, and children meals.
Excellent value for money!
