" HATE BEING BACK... "

First of all don't read any of the reviews from over a year ago as Elga has got a new pool and it is amazing! We went with 14 of us and had the time of our lives. The location is perfect walking distance from everything so no need to waste money on a taxi to get anywhere. In the day time it was great to just chill at the pool where people from otherhotels had chosen to come to and the food was brillaint, whatever you want they had. The evening began at beer o'clock! The rooms were just what you needed spacious and the balconys were big so perfect for the pre lash to save a little money. Beds were comfortable to sleep in even better for when you stroll in wasted. Don't know what this deposit business is about as none of us were asked to pay one. 24 hour bar was the way to start and end the night especially with the bar staff lovee sadie and tiny ash (ask him what he is known for), got to know most of the other people in the hotel as everyone would just chill here for drinks and smokes! Bar Street is only 2 minutes walk, and is amazing you have to go to wicked best bar ever and toxic as well. Nightclubs were good and also just around the corner, they catered for everyone and prices were standard. Reps were babes, JENNY FOR PRESIDENT. We now are all considering working out there next year, FISHBOWL AT MARIOS LIQUID COCAINE IS GROSS BUT DOES THE JOB. In a nutshell elga was amazing and so was Kos and we would recommend it hugely to anyone. TAKE US BACK THUNNN

I have no idea where the bad reviews about the elga came from because it is wicked. i'll just paint a picture:
- smoke wherever you want
- great 24 hour bar
- great bar staff, really funny and nice
- nice pool
- loads of sunbeds
- great rooms that are clean and basic, but perfect for coming home to wasted
- 2 minute walk from bar strip and literally minutes away from the two biggest clubs
- standard prices for drinks
- near supermarket to buy food and alcohol
- spacious balconies for pre-lash
so no complaints!

Before we went out we read all these reviews and did start to have second thoughts about going out to stay at Elga. However when we got there we were proved wrong! We didnt have to pay any of this 80 euro deposit stuff although we did have to hand in our passports which we did get back the very next morning. Yes the rooms were basic, but for an 18-30's clubbing holiday that is all you need. The rooms were very clean and spacious and we had a great view looking over the pool. The night bar staff were brilliant! spent every night after coming in from the clubs with Petros and Ash watching movies and drinking! They are honestly the greatest bar staff i have ever met! Love them! The pool bar was great also, great food and lots of choice! Everyone is so friendly! Lots of the Crackers bar staff hung around at the pool - all so cheeky and friendly :) such a good laugh! Spent all our days by the pool with them. Only night we did eat out we ate at Alexandra's .. Served by the greatest american waiter ever!! lovely food and great service! If you got to Kardemena you HAVE to go to Crackers. spent every night here. Amazing atmosphere, amazing staff and not forgetting the 'ooh likey likey' dance! Would recomend the 40euro fish bowl! Location of Elga is brilliant! right next to both clubs and only a 2 min walk from main bar strip, bar street and beach. the reps we had were brilliant fun too! Matt and Boomdog. always there when you needed them and knew how to make you have a good time! Do not have a bad word to say about any of our stay. The only thing i would say is be careful of the gypsy kids. dont go out alone. Other than that im deffinately going back next year! and i wouldnt stay anywhere other than Elga! Deffinately thinking of going to work out there next year too! No argument 10/10!
Advice: greatest week of our lives! everyone so friendly.

After booking a holiday with Elga studios in Kardamena , Kos , I was excited to learn more about the place . I researched it on the internet & was not particularly happy with the reviews I found . However , after returning from my week holiday with a group of 5 girls on 18 - 30 , I wanted to express MY opinion of Elga .
If a girls holiday is what you're here for , Elga is perfect for you . The rooms are lovely ( the websites do it NO justice ) & the staff are so friendly . The hotel bar is open 24 / 7 , so there is always someone there to greet you , no matter what time you come in .
The pool is brand new , which obviously means its very clean & safe . The pool bar is lovely , the food & drink is cheap too .
Yes there is music playing , but if you didn't want a party place , why did you book at Elga ?
Also , there is no 80 euro deposit when you get there , yes they do charge you with broken things , but if you're careful & have some respect then that isn't an issue .
I really feel that the previous reviews are rubbish & they did put me off going , but after visiting , me & the girls are eager to go back & would definitely recommend Elga to ANYBODY !!

Before going to stay at the Elga I read a few reviews, most of which did not give this fantastic hotel any justice!!
Yes it is true that you hand your passport in on arrival, which you get back the very next day if u wish and they didnt take a deposit from us. The facilities in the rooms are very basic, but clean and usable. The atmosphere at this hotel is fantastic, the pool is brand new and the pool bar has drinks at reasonable prices and Marias food is the perfect hangover cure!! Pool has tunes on all day, Butch and Demitris are legends!! The hotel bar is open 24hrs a day, fantastic for when u roll in after a heavy night and fancy just one more lol!! Elga is right near the best 2 nightclubs in Kardamena and only a 2min walk from bar street, what more could you want??
You do get charged for any items that are damaged, but if you dont want to pay dont break it!! Overall this hotel is perfect for everyone who wants to have fun and party hard!!
Would definatly go back, Thankyou to all the staff for helping to make my weeks away as amazing as it was!!!!!!

Me and 2 of my mates stayed at Elga, July last year for 2 weeks. Its a very basic place to stay but we didn't expect much as it is 2 star.
It is a very noisy place to stay, the location is good, however i would not stay here again.
We found the staff rude, the rooms were filthy, and barely cleaned, the beds disgusting and the pool area was dirty.
Kardamena is a good place to go, we went out every night and the nightlife is really good!
The beach is okay, i would recommend going to Kos but dont bother staying here.
It is a very noisy place to stay, the location is good, however i would not stay here again.

after reading some reviews i felt i needed to add 1 ...
yes the elga isnt a 5 star hotel but u knew that wen u booked it!!
i didnt understand the 80euros deposit but u deal with it ..if nothing gets damaged they happily give it back before leaving.
the pool area was amazing atmosphere through the day .. they played great tunes by the pool and all staff were really friendly .. they do great meals at pool bar 2 espically to cure those hangovers :) staff at reception were great 2 espically pedro and the hotel dog :)
the bar at hotel was 24hours which was great after a good night at the local clubs and bars :) i would deffo go back .. best holiday ever!!!
oh and the people who moan about the noise of people cumin back to their rooms at 4am after the clubs just pourly dont know how to party !!! why are u still at home at 4am you should be out partying !!!!!!

Unfortunately holiday watchdog do not have a rating less than 1 out of 10. I have never stayed in such a 'slum' in all my life before. when the coach arrived at our hotel there were three other couples also staying there. (all over 40) We were the only ones who the hotel staff insisted paid an 80 euro deposit. (which we refused to do under principal) We was told that this was to cover damages and theft. When we got to our room, we wondered how we could possibly cause 80 Euro's worth of damage, as they hadn't even provided us with bed sheets! When we did get bed sheets they were filthy, and we had to go out and buy our own. The bathroom was disgusting, and the only thing the kitchen was good for was storing your suitcases. The apartment door had previously been broken into, and therefore did not shut properly (let alone lock). there was no maid service for the first three days either! We ended up leaving and staying in another 2 * hotel in Tigaki (the Marianna Studios), which was fantastic. Quite honestly I can not understand why anyone over the age of 15 would consider giving this accommodation even an average review.

Firsty we arrived in the early hours of the morning. We had our passports taken off us and also a 80 euro deposit. Got into the room, and the bathroom smelt of drains, the bed sheets were dirty and so was the floor. There was no air con, and the fans that you could rent were krap. We didnt once use the pool as the pool area as was dirty, we went to the beach everyday and that was lush! If you like to get mortal all day everyday and have no sleep at all this is the place for you. Elga is practically next to 2 of the main nightclubs, and when they close you can hear the shouting n screaming of everyone at like 4 in the morning, most of the guests in the hotel dont have any consideration for others and shout n scream on in the early hours. The safety deposit boxes are downstairs and are 25 euros for the week. Had some things stolen off the balcony too. On the last day you get chucked out your room at 12, and then they check the room so you can get your deposit back if everything is fine. They also take the safe keys off you even if you have to wait ages until your flight. You have to leave your cases downstairs until your flight,and there is no were to get showered etc. You can keep your room on until 8pm at an extra 40 euros! I would come to Kardamena again but deffo not the elga it is the worst hotel i have ever stayed in,its a complete dump!!!

After reading some of the reviews on here i just felt the need to write my own.
the elga has a great atmoshphere around the pool of day times and an excellent nite vibe in the evening after everyone crawls in from the clubs and has a drink at the hotel bar.
The reps at the hotel try and see all the guests but if guests dont turn up for their specified welcome meeting then the relevant information that you require will not be given to you and why not and come and find the rep to ask about more information on the trips that u wanted to do.then i would have been more than happy to help. Also the time that i have been working at the elga no guests have left early due to the nature of the hotel, rasons for people leaving the hotel were due to their own personal reasons and only one guest this has happened to.
As for the staff at the elga their as pleasent as ever.
The escapades team are here to give you the best holiday possible and being at the hotel every day and guiding all excursions we get to konw our guests very well and believe that they can come to us regarding any quiries they have, clearly by reading the rviews on here this was not the case in some peoples eyes, so why not come and tell us of how we could have made your holiday better instead of writting it on here?For anyone that is due to visit the elga soon, we look forward in seeing you and having the best tine with you.

i love petros, figo(the hotel dog) and big D. bacon and mushroom cob is the best at the pool bar. all bar is great and the drinks are the dogs boll**ks especialy the petros special. hotel is fantastic and very near the night clubs. i love you all and i will be bk every year from now on! happy partying x

Been to the ELGA in Kardamena 2 years running now and it is amazing! Do not listen to any of the bad reviews! yeah so wot you have to pay 80 euros when you arrive but if you dont trash the place you will get every penny back (what do you expect!). All the staff are so polite and are such a laugh, they work all the time and still are there when you need a drink.
I reccommend this place to anyone who is up for a party. next to the two biggest night clubs in KOS and is open 24 hours for drinks! Those who didnt like this place dont know how to party!

Just got back from Kos and had an amazing week! Really wish I could have worked there for the season but may do that next year.
Before setting off I read all the review websites and they paint a very negative image of the Elga. It must be so easy to return from your holiday and not feel a need to write a review because you enjoyed your stay but to help anyone who is thinking about staying here I would certainly recommend it.
The Elga is a perfect base for a Kardamena holiday. Kardamena is a lively and energetic resort where most people have lazy days and wild nights. The Elga provides basic accomodation to allow you to do this and ultimately you get what you pay for. The room was cleaned frequently and although we had to pay an 80 euro deposit for each apartment we recieved most of this back (less a few euros for a broken glass) which allowed us to have a fantastic meal at Loustros on our last night.
The Elga staff were friendly, in particular Carla who works in the reception and at the 24hr bar (great for pre/post party drinks!). We were slightly disapointed by the escapades reps and felt they made little attempt to personally welcome us or provide us with information on activities during the week. We never really intended on doing many of these but price information etc would have been helpful. However despite this we had an amazing time discovering places by ourselves.
First mention has to go to Tim - the irish guy in the top hat! You cant miss him he seems to work everywhere. Persuades you into Loustros Restaurant for great food and then PRs for bars at night (he worked for 3 during the week we stayed but finished at Xpose). Top Guy!
Secondly to everyone at 'The Bands' - Phil, Taz, Craig, Maria, Ryan and the PR from Dundee! They bring out the guitars after midnight to fill the void before the clubs get lively and do some great shots (try a mini guiness!) and you may get a free t-shirt if you are lucky!
Then there is Marti from The Kings Arms! Does a great cocktail - Kings Knackers! Claims he has a secret ingredient but I studyed that cocktail and for the life of me dont know what it is! Also do the best Sambuca - really hits the spot!
At liquid there is Paula who also stays at the Elga! She's wild and has some great banter. As does Kez who can get you free entry to Status!
We also loved The Indigo Room for fish bowls, Bar 1960 for good music and football, H20 and Toxic for shots, Mad Club for indie music, Starlight best club around and last but not least Angela's Bar (on the sea front next to McD's) they do great cocktails at the best price in town 3.50! Watch out though some of them have a serious kick!
Cant wait to go back to Kos its brilliant!

I really can't believe the negativity surrounding this place. The family who run it are top class. The rooms were basic but thats all we wanted somewhere to shower and sleep. It had a 24 hour bar with a cracking bar maid, the pool and staff were amazing and as for the location the Elga cannot be beaten. The cleaners visited 3/4 times out of the 7 days we were there and we got our full deposit back.
This was the best week of our lives and we would reccomend the Elga to anyone.

Three of us went in September so it was low season, but it was still AMAZING!
Butch the legend with his crazy cocktails!
The rooms are really basic but what do you expect for an 18-30, plus it's all you need!
It's just a shame you only get one toilet roll and that has to last you, but to be fair it's not exactly going to break the bank buying a new roll or two!.
We had no deposit to pay either which was mint!!!
Make sure you head to Stone Roses bar!!! amazing music amazing people.
