Elga Aparthotel

I have been to both Zante and Faliraki with 18-30’s and escapades, both were just how you would imagine, basic but everything you need.
Before going to Kos I had read bad reviews about the Elga aparthotel but thought they were probably just exaggerated. However on arrival I realized that everything said in the reviews was correct.
The hotel was ok itself, however the people who ran it weren’t. They knew all the problems with the rooms and hid them from you until a few days in then blamed you for it. We got charged for a whole new shower and plumbing? surely that’s just hotel maintenance? You were provided with white sheets and towels, and if you left so much as a sweat patch (that’s no exaggeration there) let alone a bit of dirt on either they charged you for a new sheet/towel. Every room in our group got charged for new sheets.
On our 2nd day at the hotel the food prices of the food we had all been eating (club sandwiches and bottles of bud) mysteriously increased, I wonder why? The hotels only aim was to screw you out of as much money as possible.
Do not go to this hotel, do not think I am exaggerating not only our group but everyone in the hotel agreed this hotel ruined out holiday. Please stay somewhere else!!!!!

Hotel would have been nice if people were not ripped off by the people who owned it. At the beginning of the stay you have to pay an80 euro deposit, which will be returned if your room is ok at the end of the holiday. They then try to get you on everything possible, for example. In a two week period the towels, which were white were changed once, then at the end of the holiday they tried to keep your deposit by saying there was a mark on the towel.
Anyone who is staying goes through your room in the first day with a fine tooth comb. The hotel know what damages have happened previously to your arrival but will try and blame you for things you have not done.
Other than that it’s great. Especially Butch the barman!

I went on what was to be my last all girls holiday with my best friends before slowing things down a bit! We are aged 19 - 21.
There were only four of us. We do not have a reputation for being noisy or rowdy I can assure you and we have been going on holiday together for the last 4 years without complaint from ourselves or the hoteliers where we have stayed. On the contrary we have got to know and become friends with other hoteliers and still keep in touch.
We would not want to do this with anyone at the Elga Aparthotel. Its difficult to describe staying here suffices to say it was more like a challenge than a pleasure. We were there for a fortnight and were warned that if there were as much as a mark on a sheet or towel we would have to pay. We were also warned that daily checks were made and if any thing was broken we would be required to replace it. What a lovely Welcome !!
Inevitably small amounts of Sun Tan Lotion left marks on the sheets. Towels also got soiled as you would expect. At home you would launder these.
But oh no, we were charged for new sheets and towels before we were permitted to check out.
What a money making exercise. We had already paid 80 euros deposit each that was not returned.
Definitely a case of using and abusing young people.
We would not recommend this accommodation to anyone.

Kardamena was great!!! The food everywhere was fantastic!! The hotel was like any other Greek hotel, basic, but had everything you need and was clean. There was a pool with pool bar, a bar in reception, TV lounge and the staff were very friendly!
I would recommend Kardamena for everyone! Whether you are a family with children, or a bunch of friends on a wild holiday. There’s something for everyone!
