simply the best!!the staff was very good on what they was doing,the rooms was comfortable and the swimmingpool was really nice!i defenetly recomented to everyone...the hotel is really close to everything,nightclubs,supermarket,and also at the seafront..also there is a dog,petros dog named figo!its an amazing dog!thats all i have to say about this plase..i will defenetly go back there!well done elga!!

Just read the reviews on here and as usual people only ever write when they've got something bad to say!
The Elga is a great base for a lively holiday, close to the 2 biggest clubs in the resort so staggering home is not a problem.
yes the hotel is typically greek in its standards, not exactly the ritz but clean and caters for your needs.
They do charge a deposit but only cos the large number of breakages that occur in the rooms, but the family are great and if your nice and fair to them they'll be your best friends.
the pool staff are back to entertain and abuse everyone as always and as for Escapades....
we've read and acknowledged the reviews and the program has been completely changed for this summer to make it value for money with party nights with an all inclusive bar, we're bringing in the famous 'Moonlight Madness' comedy night with Ged, with an all inclusive bar, we've got the booze cruise, with the all inclusive drink on the boat (think there is a theme forming....)
even the bar crawl will include the ticket to get into the top night in starlight with djs from twice as nice.
as for the rep....
there is no bull, your get the honest opinion
they will be there whenever you need them
not to pushy, won't annoy you and not just there to get your money but there to have a good time with you whether you do the events or not
so........i hope your gonna like me! (if not you get to slag me off on here when you get home!)
all in all, book the Elga cos kos summer 2008 is gonna the nuts........

went there last year! top hotel, friendly staff, pedros is a top guy, ran the hotel from 7pm-7am, so was there when we were gettin ready to go out and then there when we got back, sorted our group out with drinks! Very friendly staff overall! good pool! basis rooms but you get what you pay for!
Pedros sorted a game of football out for us while we were there and also willing to entertain us by getting the playstation out so we could play pro evo,lol! top man!
looks like we might be going again this year as we had a great time.
pool was nice and clean, everything close, beach, bar street,clubs, supermarket all within 5 mins walk!
Met loads of great people there! top hotel, recommend it to anyone, all these bad reviews must be people that have trashed the place or expected 5 star!
we all got our deposits back, there were a group of 12 of us, we did break a few things aswell, even a sun lounger and still got it back!
Pedros is a legend!!!!!!

I was one of the others in the group that Jack (2 comments down) went with and I have to say that I found the place to be better than I expected and I had a great time there. We paid the 80euros deposit and still got some back even though we broke our hob and a few bowls/glasses.
Great location, friendly owners and met loadsa great people in the hotel. Pools on either side of the hotel and perfect location for a drunken crawl back from Status or Starlight at the end of the night. Quad bikes are a major suggestion as we all had a great laugh on them but make sure you take driving licenses with you!
With the hotel, we got exactly what we paid for and couldn't expect much more to be honest, had a great time and would recommend Elga to anyone!

Went during the summer with a couple of mates for 2 weeks and it was amazing! Met loads of new friends who I shall never forget.
Rooms were clean, fairly simple, well maintained and generally decent. You pretty much get what you pay for, but this place is ideal for young people who like to party. I stayed in a room of 4 and it was perfect: decent bathroom with a semi-warm shower (perfect after a hot day in the sun or a long night on the tiles), usable kitchen with utensils, cooking hob, toaster and fridge freezer. Pretty much everything you need on a group-holiday! Nothing more really needed.
PERKS OF THE PLACE:
- Ideal walking distance from everything you need in Kardamena: 2 main clubs, supermarket, 2 pools, bar street, quad-rental & food places.
- Cheap cigarettes
- Cheap booze
- The family who run the place where pretty cool as well, managed to have some random chats with some of them at 4 in the morning.
- Right next to the 2 main clubs: Status & Starlight (home of the amazing foam party!)
LETDOWNS OF THE PLACE:
- Once you’re out into Bar Street you are literally harassed by people trying to get you into their bar – Hagglem trust me it works! Tell them you had a better offer from another place and you won’t come in unless you get at least 5 free shots.
- Music turned off at 12am (silly law)
- Security men that are brutal, but fair enough, only if you’re in a fight or something.

After reading all the reviews I was terrified to go!
I’m just back after 2wks spent there. Its true stay clear of the reps it is a total rip off they try make it sound like they saving you money, crap! If you go down to the square & book your trips it’s nearly half the price. If you go down bar street you will pay 5 euro for a drink, if you go down the front you'll get 2 drinks & 4 shots for 5 euro.
We loved the location of Elga and the family that run it are really nice too.
The food at the pool bar was also really good and although the rooms are basic they are clean.
There’s a great restaurant on the front called Nemos, defiantly try it! We got our 80 euro deposit back no problem too.
The only problem we had was one of rooms got clothes & a mobile phone stolen. When we advised the reps they said they were shocked this had never happened, again rubbish, talking to other people confirmed the same had happened to them.
Overall though was a great holiday.

Don't know what all the bad reviews are for about this place. It’s amazing!

The escapades reps are one in a million. Helen is absolutely fantastic! Come on Helen let’s get leathered. You made our holiday what it is!
You can beat Kardamena and Elga is the place to stay. You get exactly what you pay for!!

This apartment was brilliant. The staff are so friendly and welcome you with open arms. The pool was cleaned every day so don’t know what people are on about. The bar is the best.
The reps were really good to always helping and showing us around. The people who complain obviously expect more, what do you want from a 2 star?
Quite simply..amazing.

First off, do not worry about all the bad reviews. There were a bunch of lads there during my time who managed to trash their room completely. The people here who have written bad reviews, I would bet did the same.
The hotel is basic but fine. It is true; you only get hot water from about 2pm to 6pm... But that is because it is solar heated so you should time washing your hair for then girls. As for the guys, a cold shower was just the ticket... not so much because of the heat though.
The only word of note is to not pay for anything from Escapades. You can get cheap excursions in the town which are far better value for money than Escapades will offer.
Believe me, it is a big rip-off... be warned. You can spend a far happier time at this hotel if you steer well clear of the Escapades Reps.
The only down sides to the hotel were the prices at the pool for drinks and the pool water was a little 'creamy'... i.e. you couldn't see the bottom. But there are loads of other pools close around to use such as Kool Pool etc. Although we didn't bother as the pool table at Elga is only 1 Euro a game unlike the normal 2 Euros.
Go enjoy your holiday, be respectful to the owners and you will have a good time.

Well if you’re booking up for the Elga I would tell you to consider somewhere else!
Staff seemed friendly at first... but that was just to get our money!!
The reps were so ignorant & were not helpful at all. On our second week a lot of new people arrived & we were pushed to the side.
There were things being offered to go on such as the pool bbq, which we didn’t find out about until it was finished!
On and the cleaner... I don’t think she smiled at us once in the full fortnight!
Don’t get me wrong the area was great nightlife’s only 5mins walk away as is the beach & supermarket.
I would go back to Kos in a heartbeat, the locals are really friendly but wouldn’t go back to the Elga if you paid me!
