Pool area is great!!!!
First of all the pool is GREAT, room is very clean and quiet, everything is nice and new. On the other hand be aware of the cinstruction on I-4. It took us over an hour to get from Disney to the hotel exit (at 11 pm on a Thursday night). Otherwise, there is plenty of things to do for all ages. This is a nice place and most of the reviews are right on.
Beautiful and Quiet
We stayed at the beautiful Omni Orlando from July 3rd-10th. We got a great deal on expedia including airfare from D.C.($450 pp). We are a family of four with a 2 and 5 year old. We all loved the hotel and the girls were welcomed with an omni kids gift bag. It was definetly a five star and the amentities were great. We went to a park every other day and relaxed at the hotel on the other days. I didn't realize how tiring a day at each theme park would be. The kids get exhausted and need a break. Don't plan to go to a park everyday, you will be... more
Great on Business, not Pleasure...
Look the hotel was gorgeous... the location secluded, the golf course beautiful. If I was to go to Orlando on business this is the perfect spot, a "Excellent" rating for sure, no doubt. My wife & I went there for 4 days early July of this year to check out Universal & Disney, small get away. I wanted to stay at a nice hotel, this was ranked the highest, and we got a decent rate (about 130/night). Unfortunately Mears Shuttle service, who the Omni use, was horrible. The "free shuttle" to Disney left at very awkward and unrealistic... more
Outstanding resort!
We stayed at the Omni for 3 days in July while vacationing in Florida and wow, this place was amazing! It was our first trip to Orlando (although we had previously visited Miami and the keys) and we wanted something close to but not in or adjacent to the theme parks. We both loved the hotel and the spirit about it. Firstly, the hotel is new, and was just opened in October 2004. As a result, the furniture, carpets, walls, bathrooms are sparklingly clean. A few trees are still propped up but otherwise, all the facilities were open... more
Excellent Stay
I just returned from a 4 day stay at the Omni Orlando Resort. This is a wonderful hotel. I will first tell you if you are not already a Select Guest Member go to their website and sign up (its free) and become one. You get great benefits like late check out (5pm) ,free morning beverage service, and we received a gift certificate for a free room upgrade and 50% off a weekend stay. We arrived at the Omni before check in time and our room was ready. The lobby area is absolutely beautiful and the view to the pool is great from there. We were... more
Great Place to Stay
We are Disney Vacation Club members so we like nice hotels when we travel. We live modestly at home so we can live it up on vacation. The Omni was a great place to stay. We got a deal on the net, $1000 bucks for seven nights, I think it was on Expedia. It was recommended here to join the Select Guests club, which I did and we got a great room. 12th floor, away from elevators, extra bedding and towels as well as beverage service for 4 on time everyday except one. When I called asking for our coffee the manager showed up within... more
Unbelievably Fantastic Resort
Just stayed 5nts at new Omni south of WDW. Could use a sign at I-4 Exit as we missed it and had to turn around. Hotel cannot be seen from I-4. Look for McDonalds big sign on left of I-4. You pass a McD's and Publix on way to Omni after exiting I-4. Owner of Hotel Ira Mitzner hasn't pinched a penny on this wonderful new Resort. Family Pool is fun for everyone, and even had a pool basketball goal. Wished the waterslide was open on top however, instead of enclosed. Lazy river was loads of fun. Pool restaurant Croc's serves great grub,... more
Great Family Pool, But
Everything is clean and new, staff are very pleasant and helpful, the family pool is great. Inroom dining is kind pricey but McDonalds, Publix, and a Chinese restaurant are just 3 minutes away, so there are other options. Poolside umbrellas are few and far between and usually reserved by enterprisong individuals who lay down their towels first thing in the morning. The Lazy river is great for tubing and even just swimming through although some people insist on making it into an exercise thing where they walk against the current, thereby... more
amazing
Had a great time here with wife and brother. Only about 10 minutes to Disney and 20 or so minutes to Universal. We did the parks one day and the other used the resort facilities. Played the 9 hold chip and put and enjoyed the rest of the day on the lazy river. This is a great resort and gets you just far away from Disney to keep your insanity!
