Great restuarant
New Ritz is very nice , after some reservations. chk in issues but after those super. Norman's restiaurant was superb .
Grande Lakes grandeur.
I think this is probably the best Hotel in Orlando. After staying in several Hotels and Resorts here the past 7 years, i can honestly say its the best. Al these people telling you welcome and how are you. Behind every door or pilar someone is jumping out to greet you, and ask you if you need anything. The rooms are nice and well its a Ritz, what do you expect. In comparing this Hotel to other Ritz-Carlton Hotels is not the best. But its absolutely a five star Hotel. People complaning that they nickel and dime you, well what do you expect, that they give al the extra`s for free, like parking etc.No way they want to keep the rifraf out. They do not throw low room rates around even at slow times. I can understand that, they have to keep up with their demanding clientelle. Perfect place to relax or do some work. We also rented a suite for a day, because we had some people coming over for work, they catered to us , and the food and drinks where absolutely perfect.
Best hotel on or off Disney property
This is the best hotel to stay at in Orlando. Super kids camp, great golf course, beautiful spa. The whole resort is wonderful and the service is out of this world. You also can access the JW Marriot which is connected to the Ritz (and has a lazy river pool). If you have a rental car, it is a quick drive to Disney and/or Sea World. I have stayed at 5 different Disney properties (Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, Yacht Club etc.), but you can't beat the overall satisfaction of staying at the Ritz.
The Best Hotel in Orlando
By far the nicest hotel I have stayed at. Great Service. Great spa and fitness center. Very nice pool. I Plan on staying there the next time I am in Orlando!
Awesome Service
My wife and I definitely enjoyed our honeymoon experience at this wonderful resort. The service was that of a 5 star hotel and more. We had just come from the "Hotel" at Mandalay Bay in Vegas and although we were very impressed with our stay there, we were more impressed with Ritz. Two things really took us by surprise. First, we had mentioned that we were on our honeymoon and our first day came back to a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries that read "Congratulations." We not only enjoyed the champagne, we then followed it up with some more drinks at the wonderful lounge downstairs. Second, we asked the concierge for directions and umbrellas, and they were handed to us without any fuzz. We definitely would come back again for this was a wonderful honeymoon experience. See you again during our 1st year anniversary.
The excellent Ritz
My family arrived on 8/16 for a five night stay leisure stay at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes just after Hurricane Charley had hit. We were greeted by two valet attendants who helped us out of our car and immediately started to unload our baggage for us. By the time we had checked in and arrived at our room the bellman was there to unload our luggage. We had two king size club level rooms with views of the lake, golf course and pool. The bathrooms are absolutely magnificent with separate shower and bathtub and a toilet in its own little room. Inside the bathtub was a little rubber ducky with a tennis racket and ball for the children. The room is very comfortable with a lounge chair, desk, 27” Philips Flat Screen TV, DVD Player and high speed internet access which is $10 per day or $44.95 for a week. The pool at the JW was closed due to problems from the storm. The golf course also appeared to be in excellent shape despite Charley. On the first night we ate at The Vineyard Grill which is a casual dress restaurant (Dockers, golf shirt). We had Rockefeller Clam Soup (special), crab cakes, surf and turf, and lamb chops; all was excellent. The pool at the Ritz Grande Lakes is very nice and the attendants are will to help you set up you chairs and get a waiter to get drinks or food for you [the Key West Drink is excellent (banana daiquiri and pina coloda)]. We ate at Bleu a few times and had buffalo tenders, angus burger, grilled grouper sandwich and turkey club on pretzel roll. While the service seemed to be lacking a little on one of the days at Bleu the quality of the food more than made up for it. One night we had room service which was an interesting experience, we all had burgers and on one the forgot to put cheese on and added mushrooms and also the shrimp cocktail we ordered was waterlogged (I have stayed at a few 5 diamond hotel and those little mistakes are not what you expect). Now on to the club level, for breakfast, my favorite sitting, there are various pastries, parfait, bagels, Scottish salmon, cereal and fruit, along with fresh squeezed watermelon, cantaloupe, grapefruit, orange and honey dew melon juices. For the lunch portion which I was not impressed with they had little sandwiches, and pb&j and ham and cheese with the crust cut off for the kids. The afternoon tea was a nice experience, with scones, Devonshire cream, little filet mignon and other pastries. The hors doeurves was also not the best presentation in my opinion, while they did have crab claws, shrimp, scallops, filet mignon and others I just didn’t feel that it was worth the extra $130 per night/per room we were paying. The second best experience was the evening cordials, there are pastries, cookies, candies, wine and more. All in all it was a pleasant stay and I will return but I recommend if you are not going to be at every sitting for everyday it is not worth it to get the club level. Hope I helped. e-mail me at dmohel@aol.com if you need more information.
Absolutely magnificent!
We have just returned from a week at the Ritz Carlton. The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the hotel to go to the theme parks at all. In fact we didn't bother with Disney , having been before and just did a few trips to Universal. It was so hot and busy there, we couldn't wait to get back to the peace and tranquility of the hotel. We stayed on the club level with its own concierge and club lounge where 5 different food presentations are laid out each day. We were just expecting a few nibbles but breakfast is a lovely continental spread with cheeses fruit pastries etc. During the afternoon it's literally like tea at the Ritz in London with champagne etc. Quite difficult to fit in any meals out after all that! The pool is lovely, not as big as the Marriott next door but more luxurious. Our kids are 11 and 13 and they enjoyed it. The pool attendants were wonderful, laying out 3 towels per sun lounger, with one rolled up as a head rest. The waitress even came into the pool with a tray of smoothies for everyone to try. The Spa is out of this world. Not for under 16 really but they were quite happy for my daughter to have some treatments. Expensive but fabulous. Restaurants are great. Normans is very smart and we dined there for our daughter's birthday. They even printed a special menu wishing her a happy birthday. We paid $299 per night for a room on the club level which we thought excellent value. There were 2 double beds so the four of us shared. Overall I would say this is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in on holidayand I am extremely fussy! Perhaps not the most convenient if all you want to do is theme parks, but if you want to mix a little luxury with the odd trip to the parks then this is an absolute must
First Class Hotel!
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton, at an convention for our business, June 26-July 5, 2004. It is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen! The lobby, spa and grounds are breathtaking. Our room was lovely, spacious, and the luxurious bathrooms are to die for! All personnel at this fine hotel are top-notch - from housekeeping to concierge level to pool staff - are friendly, gracious and accommodating. They go out of their way to provide you with first class service. More than worth the price, and definitely proof that you do get what you pay for......you will live in the lap of luxury when you stay at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes!
Great Hotel
Aloha, My wife and I stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon for 6 days not to long after it's grand opening last August of 2003. We are from Hawaii and both work in the hotel industry. I was amazed of the utter beauty of this hotel. From the drive up to the porte cocher to the entrance of the lobby. I remember how friendly and courteous the staff was as we arrived. How they greeted us and took care of us till we finally checked into our room, The housekeeping service was phenominal and room service was perfect. Our room was emaculate in every way and even though our view from the room was of the pool it was still a sight to see with the small lake and golf course in the background. The staff were always on their toes and always greeted you no matter if you noticed them or not. We truly felt a sense of well being which made our honeymoon feel more special. I also liked the convenience of the hotel being only minutes from the Disney theme parks and Sea World was just down the street of the hotel. This was truly a Ritz Carlton experience and we will definately come back to this property (hopefully on our 1st anniversary) and will definately recommend this hotel to all our friends and acquaintances. Mahalo to the Ritz Carlton Orlando for making our short stay an enjoyable and most especially, a memorable one.
Absolutely Fabulous
This resort is top notch in every way! From the moment you arrive, you realize you are in the lap of luxury. This resort is one of the best I have ever encountered. From the professional, courteous, and accomodating staff, to the world class diverse restaurant selection, you do not want to miss this property. I am glad Orlando finally has a high end property like the Ritz. This hotel is definitely worth every penny. The grounds are immaculate and breathtaking, the rooms are well appointed, the linens are luxurious, and the layout is superb. I would stay here again in a second and I have recommended this hotel to all of my friends, family members, colleagues, and business associates.
