Grande Lakes Resort Hotel

Was in Orlando for a conference at the Seaworld Renaisance Resort (owned by Marriott) and moved my family to the JW Marriott at Grande Lakes for the remainder of our stay. What a difference! This hotel is less than 1 year old and the facilities are immaculate. The hotel is a true resort hotel with a Great pool that my wife and 3-year old enjoyed. This hotel is one of the most fascinating I have ever stayed at (and I have traveled all over the world). The staff was extremely professional, well groomed, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. The restaurants were superb, the accomodations were posh, the linens were luxurious, and the grounds were breathtaking. If you want to relax at a world class resort while you are in Central Florida, this one is the way to go!

Wow, what a beautiful hotel! My wife and I just returned from a weeks stay at the JW and had a fabulous time. Having previously stayed at the Peabody on International Drive some years ago, we found the JW to be so much better. The hotel was amazing, as were the staff, who we found to be very warm and friendly. The grounds were beautiful and so was the pool....which became the deciding factor on where to stay between the Ritz and JW....we were glad we chose the latter. Read all the reviews, they are all true. Stayed the first 2 weeks it opened, fantastic! Just booked again for same weeks, really looking forward to all that 5 star(or is it 6?) treatment. Yes it costs more but it's worth it, you are worth it, your wife and family are worth it, do it!!!

My wife & I ( & son aged 12 ) stayed at the Grand Lakes April 5th 04 for 1 week. The service and staff were absolutely fantastic as was the facilities. we will definitely be returning!

We spent thanksgiving here in 2003 and thought the hotel was excellent in every way. The lobby of the JW is more open and tropical than the Ritz, which is on the same property.We had one of the best dinners we've had in Orlando at the Marriott signature restaurant: Primo. It was outstanding in every way. Much better than the much hyped Normans next door at the Ritz. We were looking forward to our Normans dinner and were disappointed in the food and overwhelmed by the fawning service.The spa at the Ritz was awesome and awesomely expensive.... more

Loved it! We were there 9 days (with our 15 month old) while my husband attended a conference. There was so much to do... The pool was totally amazing, there was a small playground, lots of walking trails, very safe. We travel a lot and this has been by far the nicest resort where we've ever stayed. We're going back in September and I can't wait. I highly recommend it!

Just returned from a stay at the JW Marriott and loved it! Definitely an elegant hotel with beautiful rooms. There was an elegant touch to every detail in this hotel. The room was decorated with elegant but cheery fabrics and the bedding was so cozy with a down-like comforter on the bed. The bathroom was impressive with a glass-enclosed shower as well as a tub with marble floors and wood vanity. More than the usual towels too. The pool was alot of fun with the "lazy river". Huge pool which wasn't very crowded even for the spring break week.... more

Stayed at the J.W. Marriott for a week on business in December of 2003. It was a great place for a meeting! Rooms were spacious. Loved the bathroom! Wonderful views to relax in the evening. The staff was helpful and all of our meeting lunches were outside and tasted superb. It was great to get outside during the day and it made the meetings more positive. I do not know if I would recommend it for my family but they are still pretty young and there are a total of 6 of us. This seems more of a place for business or quiet. LOL.

During Christmas break my husband and I left our 2-year old with the grandparents and we treated ourselves to a night at the JW. Wow! We're so glad that we did! The hotel is beautiful, service is excellent, and the pool is amazing. We were almost sorry that we left our child behind because there were so many activities that she would have enjoyed. I really didn't want to spend so much money on a hotel room for one night, but you really do get what you pay for.
