Well have read all the reviews it's true if your Spanish your fine, two good reviews out of all them??? Not good. Staff are very rude (except cleaners). Long walks nothing there apart from 3 shops that you was lucky if they was open. All inclusive that stop your drinks at... more

Terrible service
This hotel is definitely not the four star hotel that it claims to be. Yes it certainly has lots of activities if you intend to farm away your children and keep everyone busy. But the service is terrible. Just a couple of examples of our experiences during our one week holiday in July 2006: - The worst example of the service came when my husband and I went to the terrace at the piano bar for a drink and my husband sat on a chair which actually had a broken leg. The leg collapsed and my husband fell on to the chair and on to... more
Superb hotel and staff
Although it is now 3 years since my holiday in 2003 at the Atalya Park, I recognise much of what I have seen in reviews here from others on more recent visits. My experience was however somewhat unique in that I suffered a personal injury early on in my 2 week stay - so much so that if it were not for the help of the staff etc, at a poor hotel it would have been a nightmare. Fortunately, it was the complete opposite - the staff were of great help to me and I will always be in their debt. On the second eveing of our 14 day stay I... more
Service throughout was terrible - but the food and facilitites are good.
We stayed at this hotel with our 9 year old son for a one week from 16 June. On arrival we were dismayed as the hotel reception did not live up to our expectations - the staff at the desk were untidy, rude and unhelpful, we were informed that there was no porter on duty, the chinease restuarant was closed as it was "low season" . Our room was clean but very disappointing but we have come to the conclusion that the star ratings do not apply to room comforts. We had dinner in the buffet restaurant - no complaints there! Then on to the... more
loved the food
We stayed at Atalaya Park from 19th june for a week. We stayed with friends and our 13 year old son. We picked the hotel because of the 2 golf courses nearby which were throughly enjoyed. The hotel is a little dated but it more than makes up for this with excellent food, spotlessly clean rooms and the grounds and pool are brilliant. You do not need to leave the hotel complex as there is something for everyone there. The entertainment staff work very hard to make sure that everyone enjoys themselves. The only down side was that they... more
Expensive disappointing suites
Paid 180 euros per night for a suite so that we could sleep separately to our 2 children, very dated hotel and rooms, room was quite large but the sliding plastic partition door was not up to much. The air con was very temperamental but the balcony was nice and large. The drinks and ice creams were an absolute rip off - £1.80 for a really small plastic glass of coke and £20 for 4 small beers !!! The beach is very stoney and not suitable for children but the pool is fabulous for kids. Most of the staff are extremely rude and... more
Great, relaxing stay
Had a lovely clean room on our 4 night stay, the hotel is huge and had very few guests so at this time of year if quiet and relaxing is your thing, this is the place. Food at the hotel is superb and the bar is informal and relaxed with fun staff. All the staff were great, I asked for some laundry during the weekend and one of the staff took it home and did it for me! It is a bit far from Malaga Airport so hire a car, and in places it is showing it's age, but aren't we all? But I would recommend Atalaya as a great value pace to stay.
Great food but not a 4 star hotel
We arrrived at the Atalaya Park on Christmas Eve and, although only 12 noon, our rooms were ready for us to use. The rooms are large but very sparsely furnished and without the in room information you usually get in 4 and 5 star establishments. That said, they are clean and functional. Dinner in the el Torre was excellent - the buffet really is as good as they say although I think that in high season it would become a bit like a rugby scrum in there. The Italian restaurant is a lot more gentile and the food and service are both very... more
Fantastic Family Hotel
Stayed here with family and friends in May, this hotel although its hayday was probably the 1970's decor wise, It was family friendly. The rooms were superb and newly refurbished and clean. The restaurant was spotless and the food was very good, and the choice was extensive, with theme nights every night, the waiter/waitresses were very attentive and very nice. The entertainment by night was very good, but more importantly for us being the parents of teenage boys the activies by day were fantastic, plenty of quality tenis courts,... more
A very pleasant surprise
My Thirteen year old daughter and I stayed at the Attalaya Park from the 10th to the 17th of July. We were due to go to London but unfortunately had to cancel due to the bombings(on the day of our proposed arrival.) I literally booked the Attalaya the day before our departure And as I had never been to the Costa Del Sol before I was a little anxious to see what awaited us. I need not have worried. The Hotel was avery pleasant surprise. Exceptionally clean rooms; we had great views of the mountains from our balcony. The food was terrific. I... more
Very nice hotel
We stayed a small week in this hotel with our kids. It was a great experience. Food is excellent (variety and quality). In addition to the buffet, it is also possible to eat in one of the 4 restaurants. Animation and number of activities is amazing (golf practice, tennis, pools, etc). Service is excellent (always open to find solutions in case of issue and pretty flexible - room change, check out time, etc). Nice location in the garden with plenty of spots in the shade. Really a good place to relax during holliday. Although,... more
