Wow is all I can say about this hotel. It is a boutique hotel right in the centre of the Gaslamp area, so you are near all the nightlife, restaurants and shops in San Diego.
The Solamar hotel is a boutique hotel, with amazing rooms, the room had a massive king size beds with Egyptian cotton sheet. Two bath robes, aveda toiletries in the bathroom, and a great mini bar, air conditioning, and great double glazing.
The room was very modern, and had a great individual feel to it, very homely.
If you are going to stay there ask for a room on a corner facing the left of the hotel entrance, as you will have 3 large windows in your room a instead of one.
There is a nice outside pool with a bar beside it too.
Overall this is a fantastic hotel, I was very impressed, and the only thing that slightly let it down was that the outside roof bar was very busy at night with non residents so there is not much chance of getting a drink.
But other than that a top class hotel to stay in
