Ondamar Aparthotel

Booked the Ondamar from 21st to 28th October 2011 – on Full Board basis – MASSIVE mistake – the food is absolutely atrocious – this hotel ‘outsource’ to a team of external caterers and it just does not work
The rooms / apartments are very comfortable, everything needed is provided and the cleaners are exemplary BUT the food is atrocious – this is not a hotel and they need to take the decision and stop offering food
Arrived mid-afternoon – went for evening meal – selection was awful, salmon was overcooked and dry – a duck and bacon rice and salad soaked in water -- went back next evening, had a look but didn’t sit down – it was awful
Breakfast next morning was extremely basic – but we only wanted a bit of fruit, yoghurt and toast – ok 1st morning – 2nd morning only fruit was kiwi – only diluted orange juice and no butter in the hotel !!!
Didn’t go back to ‘restaurant’ – contacted tour agency who reimbursed cost of half board – obviously I wasn’t the 1st to complain – indeed all guests – Dutch, German, English, Irish were commenting on standard of food – it was an absolute joke – disgusting
Outside pool very good – inside pool was not heated top 36C as advertised – probably more 36F – plus bar not open at any time
Came back late one night and room door was lying open – informed reception who suggested cleaner may have left open – always blame the cleaner – reception just not interested
If going back to airport call a taxi ~ 35 euro – hotel wanted 40 as special offer
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE – GO ELSEWHERE
