The apartments were very comfortable ,regularly cleaned with towels and bed linen replaced. All apartments have a view of the sea from a balcony opening from the lounge area. We had a seperate bedroom apartment, well heated with a control switch ,as we were there during February -March on the odd day it was nice to use this. The catering is a bit on the sparce side with a 2 ring electric hob ,micro wave and only the basic requirements for cooking.A couple of saucepans , 2 frying pans , and the basic eating set for four. You will have to be inventive if you want to cook a main meal. The games room also falls into the just about category, the computers available gave 20 mins for 1 euro.Nice pool and bar area but the time of year was not right for a dip ,unless your a polar bear.Staff were cheerful and helpful, all in all would go back again.
- Advice: well placed for the beach, very steep slope to front enterance.

impressive hotel, fully air conditioned. Staff ar fluent in English (during office hours) and not that bad outside them. Very helpful.
Took my 5 yearold daughter, they had mini club in the mornings (which we did not use) & entertainment in the night, including reptile shows, mini-disco, magician & kareoke.
The childrens entertainer Veronica was OK but looked like she'd only been doing the job about 1 week. Her heart was in the right place & she ran the kareoke & disco ok. The shows last about an hour.
Pool was ok but on the small side. Beware of getting bitten to death by the Mozzies on the balcony at night.
Met coouples who go there 3/4 times a year EVERY year, & can't fault it.

We couldnt have had a better room! The Hotel was very clean and staff were very cheerful and helpful. The short steep hill is a pain in the heat with your suitcases, so go through garage, turn right once through the garage doors to the lifts and press level 4 for reception. They do close it weekends and at night about 9pm for security! so tipsey walks home at night were bit of a laugh (trying to walk up the hill in heels lol). its really not that far though so dont let it put you off. Vistamar is one of the smaller hotels in the area and nicer in my opinion. Turn right at bottom of hill, 3mins to burger king, behind that, maxi plus ( supermarket) and opposite, the Sunbeach club hotel (it has its own supermarket thats open sundays when others are shut). For eves out though get taxi from rank at sunbeach club hotel for about 6 euros to Marina (Puerto) shops and places to eat above. Or walk there when sun has gone down! Turn left and use the rd crossings to beaches and the prom that takes you to marina. Stay on the left side of road for closer places to eat, bars and shops. There is a pharmancy and tabbacco shop on this side too. Sealife centre with mini golf are at the marina and Selow is nerby, also Tivoli world.

Hotel lovley and clean would go back again good value for money. I loved the style of the hotel. The staff are very nice. The hotel may be on a bit of a hill but its not that bad and you do not get any noise. The walk to the frount is only about 2 mins and then you are in the centre. We loved it.

My stay at the Vistamar Aparthotel was fab! I have seen many people complain about the steep hill going up to the Vistamar. The hill wasn't bad at all. Of course i have to admit that pulling the suitcases up was a little bit of a struggle but nothing to complain about! Everyone knows that when you first get into the apartment at night you are very tired and feel everything is wrong. When we first got in it felt small. However by the morning our worries were over. Our apartment consisted of 2 single beds pushed together, 1 double fold out sofa, a fully functional kitchenette, a dining table and a big bathroom. There was a t.v in the room which unlike other televisions in apartments is free. There is also a microwave, a hob and a fridge. When you first book in you are given the t.v remote, an air conditioning control and cards to get in. To make all electricity work you use the card in a slot in the wall. You have to leave this in. The hotel has 7 floors. Floor P was for laundry and Garage, Floor 1 is where the mini club, games room, dining room and swimming pool is. Floor 3 is where the Bar is. Floor 4 is for Reception and the terrace. All other floors were for rooms. All floors could be easily accessed by lifts and stairs. There was entertainment every night in the bar. It also served fantastic food and you could also order take aways from your room. The games room was very good. It had 2 pool tables, 1 air hockey machine, 1 dart board 1 table football and 2 computers. You can play darts using no money but the rest cost 1 euro. Putting a euro in the computer gives you 20 minutes. The computers also have the internet. The swimming pool is very cold but you soon get used to it. There is a pool side bar but to me it was never open. There are plenty of deck chairs and a sheltered grassy bit. There is also a smaller kiddies pool which is slightly warmer. When you come out of the apartment and go down the hill the beach is straight in front of you. Not far at all! The supermarket is not far. When you get to the bottom of the hill turn right and walk on for around 100mts. You will then see the sign. Its called Maxi's. If you walk further on you will see the more local part and the very grand 5 star hotel Torrequebrada. However if you turn left and walk on for a bit there is all your resteraunts. There are many to choose from. Here are some i reccomend. Sabatinis is a fine Italian resteraunt with a very varied menu and very good food. However if you walk further you will find a small Italian resteraunt called La Locanda which is off the street and is such a great restaurant and has wonderful staff! The tiramisu there is to die for! Along the sea front there are many sea food places which are very dear. The Milan is another gorgeous restaurnt. It is a mix between Italian and Indian. Both foods are cooked to perfection! The marina is a must see. It is so beautiful down there with plenty of food places. There is a small pretty place down there called La Cabana. The waitresses there are nice and the food too. Not only is there loveley food but there are many things to do. The cable car is breathtaking. For only 4 euros you can get a taxi to there. Very cheap! The ride up there is long and beautiful. I advice you to take a camcorder. Up at the top there is a horse show, bird show, donkey riding and trekking. However when we went only the bird show was on so it does vary. You can choose to get a full round trip or walk down yourself. Selwo Marina is also a must see!! It contains various shows such as; dolphin shows(which was unfortunatly not on), parrot shows(breathtaking), sea lion shows, (excellent and after you can get a picture with Bruno the sea lion), snake shows and much much more! The price is REALLY cheap and is just a fantastic place!! Now there is also a Horse show called Ritmo de cabbaillo which was...........AMAZING. If you are a horse lover then this is the show for you and even if you arent it is till a breathtaking experience. In the price you can also have a flamenco show and a meal. The flamenco show was very good but the meal was a letdown as you didn't get to choose what you ate and if you didn't like what was put infront of you, you would end up hungry!
Altogether this holiday has been an amazing experience and i would reccommend it to anyone, especially familys with children and couples! This entry was also written by my twin!!! The last half anyway!!! :) Thankyou for reading and GOODBYE!

Stayed for a few days earlier this month, overall hotel and staff very pleasant except one reception staff member who was happy to run a scam with the local taxis and sharing the profit, we asked to book a taxi to the Rail station and was quoted a fare of €25 for a €7 trip and €75 to the airport which should be only €25. Not very happy at all, never like to be blatantly ripped off on holiday.

On arrival we were upgraded from the studio I had booked to a 1 Bed apartment, think this was due to them being really quiet, no complaints though! The complex is really clean and well looked after, all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The only downside is the location at the top of quite a steep hill, and thats not too bad. Take a walk into Benalmadena along the promenade and just after the red Fortress type building the promenade slopes down and there is a row of fish and sea food restaurants - try the Waterfront - english owned but not your typical English restaurant food is great and not typically English at all, lots of lovely fish and the paella is fab! Also if you hire a car and head out through Benalmadena Pueblo and at the far end of the village, stop at the Cafe Les Mimosas for breakfast, lovely!

Seven if us recently stayed at the Vistamar for a short break and i have to say the appartments were lovely. Although the view could have been better no complaints about the size and facilities on offer. Everything you needed for your stay. Even a microwave not that you had to cook. As most bars and cafes seemed to be British owned. The resort is very clean and the standards of food and hygiene excellent. We would recommend Coco,s bar for a lively and friendly welcome and Shakespeares for an excellent Scottish breakfast.
Wish we had thought of going through the garage instead of going up Cardiac Hill but heck it kept us all fit. Finally a visit to Gibraltar also well worth it and very reasonably priced. We will all be back for sure and would definately stay at the Vistamar

Very clean apartment. Towels changed every other day. Bedding every fourth day. Staff very friendly and helpful All problems dealt with quickly. We stayed 3 weeks and intend returning next year. Hotel is on top of a small hill, but this can be avoided by entering the hotel through the garage and using the lift from there. Hotel is a little way out from the centre but the walk is flat. It is opposite the Sunset Beach Hotel where there is entertainment every night down on Level 1 ( Entrance is on Level 6) We were there in Jan/Feb and at that time of year the sunny side of the hotel is much better

Proper 4 star very clean and good for children, we had a pool and sea view. The staff tested pools every day for any bacteria and cleaned them and the area every evening maids came in our apartment every other day the rooms were big enough for us.
I requested a travel cot which came the afternoon we arrived. Towels and bedding very white and clean.
We ate in the bar area for lunch, on our last day food was very nice and we received proper waiter service, I wish we had eaten there more often.
On the comments page some people have said the hill to the hotel was very steep, this is not true, we manage fine pushing our son in his pram a few times a day I admit it might be too much for the elder person although there is a lift if needed.
I will definitely go back again as long as I get the same view, must say I wouldn’t be pleased if I got a different view as some balconies looked onto the street with no view at all.

Fab hotel, pool nice although not many sunbeds. Staff friendly, food not very nice in the bar.
Things to do: go to Tivoli market, pennys in a taxi as 5mins up the road. .Cable cars next to Tivoli market, lovely cafe (nice coffee) at the cable cars for anyone not wanting to go up. Fab view at the top though. Also donkeys and birds of pray.
Chinese food – fab - The Watermgren along the coast, get off bus at the Triton hotel walk along on the right hand side past some bars down what looks like a steep backlane. Best food ever but really cheap; Mongolian lamb a must have.

Found hotel a short distance from a busy dual carriageway so therefore traffic noise at night.Situated inconveniently on the outskirts of the town requiring a very long walk.Hotel now dated but clean. Food very disappointing, very limited choice, often cold, in a tiny dining room, staff seemed very cold also. Amazed this hotel is a 4* have stayed in many 3* which are far superior. Not impressed at all, especially having to queue for over half an hour on last evening to get into the dining room!! Should be a 2*
