We loved our stay here!!!

Fantastic holiday! Olhas de aqua is lovely. Pool was excellent, cheap beer round pool, very clean. All hotel staff were very friendly, and very helpful with taxi bookings and transfer calls. Apartments were very clean, our cleaners came every day for a week- cleaned up, clean sheets and toilet roll. Our apartment was very spacious, had everything you would need. Including a toaster, dvd and t.v, air conditioning and a hair dryer in the bathroom and hangers. Our balcony was a tad small- but we made friends and theirs were massive. The town was lovely not very lively. Restaurants were amazing. Such friendly staff in bars too. Beach were fantastic. Frattellis restaurant and the one on the bottom of the beach on the corner to the right was to. You would have to try them. The strip was 10 mins in a taxi ranging from 5-8 euros depending on the time of day/night. The strip was fab very lively, shuts late. Visited the old town to- you would have to get a bus or pay that bit extra in a taxi. The old town is massive, loads to do, the beach goes for miles, loads of shops and bars and places to eat. Absolutely fantastic for night life- it was booming ha. All in all Albuferia was brilliant, me and my boyfriend had a smashing holiday. Would definitely go back but because we are in our 20's we would like a busier night life so would probably stay nearer to the old town- but not to close as very loud at night till very very early hours.

Excellent accommodation

Jun 2011, Barn

My family and I stayed at Oceanus for 5 days. The apartments were big and the cleanest we've stayed in. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help. The pool was never too packed and the area was always clean. It was about a 3 minute walk to one of the beaches, and the restaurants on the walk to the beach were lovely. Once again the staff were very nice. A problem which we found was the wait for taxis, and because there was 8 of us in my family we had to wait for more than one. Across the road from the back of the hotel is an office which does taxis and buses at great prices, just go in and ask. We were a 5 minute taxi drive from the strip. So overall the hotel/apartment was brilliant but location wasnt ideal. Will most certainly be going back though.

this hotel is great for kids with indoor and outdoor pools and cheap wholesome food in the pool bar. we used it 2 years ago and returned this april because it was so nice. the resort is very quiet during april and just right for the more independent family who want to be somewhere relaxed but like to venture out to find a bit more excitement occassionally. On this trip however the hotel was BRILLIANT. we got caught in the volcano ash fiasco and the the hotel allowed us to stay on at the usuall rate for an indefinate period. We provisionally booked for a couple of nights and ended up only staying for one. They were really helpful with phone calls to help get us home and we cannot reccommend them enough

Fantastic Family Holiday!

We visited the Oceanus apartments August-September 2008; travelling with our 15 year old daughter and our 11 year old son... always challenging to find somewhere that ticks all the boxes for everyone!
The staff always have a smile for you and our room was cleaned daily - the location of the apartments was perfect for us; far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the Albufeira nightlife! But a short bus-ride to the waterpark etc...
Many of the people we met on holiday have been visiting the same place for a number of years and wouldn't consider going anywhere else... the fact that the children met lots of new friends who they are still in contact with via MSN etc... we have booked to go back this year and the kids are looking forward to meeting up with their friends again...

what a lovely place!
the staff were friendly and helpful and always welcomed you with a smile.
the maid service was brilliant. they came every day and swept, mopped, made the beds, polished and put clean towels out. our maid spent a good twenty minutes in each apartment and did a thorough job. (much better than some we've had, in and out in 2 minutes).
the aparthotel is well equipped with a snack bar, serving delicious food. a games room, great for the kids, with a bar next door, so you can keep an eye on the kids. there's an indoor pool which is open til 9 every night and is heated. we had a baby with us and this was great as the outdoor pool was too cold.
its around a ten minute walk the smaller beach. but beware, the hill is very steep. although there is an easier way to go but takes a little longer (just follow the main road down instead).
the bigger beach is around a 15 minute walk but again its a long way down and there's lots of steps, so its not recommended if you have walking difficulties.
there's plenty of shops and bars down by the little beach as well as two big supermarkets near the hotel.
the apartments have everything you'll need for a short stay, cooker, fridge, kettle, but no microwave.
overall, myself and my family really enjoyed our stay here and would return.

We spent the month of February, along with two other couples, at the Oceanus and had a very enjoyable holiday. We found the one bedroom apartments quite comfortable, although they could use a bit of updating. A microwave oven and coffeemaker would be useful. Maid service was excellent , very clean, and front desk staff very helpful and friendly.
The location is excellent, quiet at night. Having the bus stop close by made it very easy to get around. Grocery stores a short walk away made it convenient for self catering. Some better programming on the English language TV channels would be good. The BBC kept repeating the same old news. We found the restaurants in the area satisfactory, it being the off season.
I would recommend the Oceanus for an affordable, relaxing, long stay destination and hope to return for another visit. We booked our holiday with JM Vacations from Toronto.

We found it a very good hotel....

Nov 2006, Mrs L De Bhainghuirt

We found it a very good hotel.
Initially, we had booked for a ground floor room which we were not given on arrival. However, they have a lift which solved the problem of the stairs. The rooms are very good size and cleaned every other day.
The balcony is very small however and if you are on the side facing the main road, it can get very noisy (especially on a Saturday night when bin collections occur) - you have to keep the patio door closed which can cause problems with the heat!
Also, this side of the hotel does not get any sun so would recommend the side facing the pool as less noisy and gets the sun all day.
The outside pool/snack area is good and the position of this hotel is excellent as is central to all restaurants, taxi rank and supermarket in Olhos Dagua. The one drawback is the steep decline to the beach area, not for the faint hearted.
Night life in Olhos Dagua is quiet in October but it's only a 10 minute taxi ride to Albuifara and Villamoura, lovely marina.
Had a lovely time, hoping to go back again next year and would recommend this hotel for couples - not too many kids around.

Second visit to this spotless well...

Second visit to this spotless well maintained and located hotel extremely welcoming and friendly reception staff .the bar downstairs is a pleasure after a long day in the sun and run by the very friendly Hannibal.
The snack bar has an excellent snack menu and nothing is too much trouble, they also do take away food to take to your room. Lovely pool and pool area. The rooms are a good size and kept very clean and the lady cleaning our room always had a big smile for us.
Only a few minutes walk down a steep hill to the beach with a good selection of restaurants. A visit or two or three to taverna Forje across from the beach and run by the very friendly Leo is a must it’s a small and intimate bar with a brilliant atmosphere.
Everyone at Oceanus take a bow and we'll see you this year.

We’ve been fortunate enough to have stayed at Oceanus about 11 times since 1998, (it was about a year old then) the weather is always quite unpredictable when we visit which is usually either may / June, sometimes both.
the staff are friendly and efficient, Jacqueline and Paula on reception are a pleasure and Armindo and his wife at the pool bar are superb hosts for those that just want to be fed and watered thru the day from breakfast through to afternoon tea, Hannibal will knock up a cocktail of your choice as a nightcap at the cool calm bar in the lower ground floor before retiring to the well maintained apartment.
A few more sky TV channels would be welcomed though. You cant knock it for value..
