I havent even travelled yet and i am livid with Jetline! I asked for 7nights flying from Birmingham.I was told there was nothing and had to have 6nights from East midlands (70miles away). I then saw holidays on teletext with Lowcost, from Birmingham for 7nights for the same price that i paid Jetline for 6nights from the wrong airport!! I telephoned them and indeed they found me the exact holiday i wanted to Torrequebra hotel from B'ham for 7nights, same price. I asked to swop and they wouldn't do anything at all! I asked why i had been told they didn't have anything for 7 nights from B'ham? i was told it changes every day.I think that is rubbish and i was ripped off and inconvenienced!

This hotel claims to be 5 star but in my opinion should be downgraded to a 3 star. The reception area and restaurants were very nice but the rooms are small and shabby. The hotel air conditioning was in need of urgent updating and was virtually non existent in parts of the hotel. The hotel is not particularly convenient for shops and restaurants and required taxis and buses to get anywhere worth seeing. Although it boasts a beach front location, the beach is more like a bit of wasteland, littered with cigarette ends and rubbish with no facilities whatsoever. The service also left a lot to be desired and the evening entertainment was, to put it bluntly, pathetic. We almost came home early, and had the weather not been so lovely, we certainly would have done.

My husband and I have just returned from this 5 star Hotel, and I rate it as a 3 Star Hotel at the most. We stayed as half board, and the selection of food was extremely poor, there was not enough variety. Every single day was virtually the same food, for instance carrots every day as a veg, of which should have been fresh, but were not, I believe they were out of a tin.
On the first day we had the evening meal, of which was dreadful, every night was a Barbecue, which meant that we had to walk over to huge stainless steel containers with a burning light underneath, take the top off (which was very heavy, I could not manage this) and spoon our food onto our plates, then carry them back to our table and this a 5 star Hotel. The food inside these huge containers was dreadful, just large chunks of chicken, pork, veal etc. and of course for the vegetables, carrots!
This was like a BBQ that most people would have had at home, not a 5 star Hotel.
We expected for the amount of money paid for this holiday, to be served at our table by waiters, not having to walk onto grass to a BBQ.
Also beware if you have a car, then you will have to pay 10 euros per day for the privilege of parking on the premises.
We paid extra for The Fortuna Show and Meal, and this was also disappointing, the Flamenco part of the Show was very good, but the second part of the show was scantily clad women, quite promiscuous in content, not really a family show, and they are advertising that children can enter free if with two paying adults.
There was no other entertainment at night, except a Pianist in one of the bars, of which I can't comment because we did not go. Drinks are also expensive, twice the price of other Hotels. I have stayed at many Hotels on the Costa Del Sol, and this is the first time we have been to a 5 Star, but this was meant to be a celebration for us, what a disappointment.
Next time we will be going to The Triton (nice and Central) or the Best Benalmadena (family Hotel), so take heed do not go to this Hotel!

Me, my husband and 15-year-old...

Me, my husband and 15-year-old daughter stayed at the Hotel Torrequebrada for a week early September this year. Our week was a mixture of relaxing but being frustrated at the quality and service of the hotel. On arrival we discovered that on top of our holiday price we had to pay 70 Euros parking fee for the week.
The reception area is beautiful with a fountain to decorate its central area. There is also an internet area were you can check your email or chat to friends, if you get bored.
There are two outdoor pools and one indoor, but whilst this area is relaxed, with plenty of padded sunbeds and a free towel service, it did not seem to us to be a 5* pool area. This is because it is dated and some of the parasols old and faulty. The surrounding pool walkways are rough surfaced and have rusty marks here and there.
There are four bars advertised on the hotels website. During the day, three of the bars were open, at night, only one, which had a pianist and a vocalist as entertainment. Very nice for mature adults but not suitable for the younger person. The pool bar was open most of the time except when it was raining.
The hotel has a Casino with a bar and grill. Not accessible for under 18's though which is expected.
The hotel has a Fortuna Nightclub, which is open Tuesday to Saturday. This costs an additional 32 euros without a meal and 65 euros with a meal.
We had bed and breakfast board and this was probably one of the best aspects of the hotel. The Pavilion restaurant, which is partly indoors and partly outdoors and overlooks the sea, the breakfast was really nice with plenty to choose from whatever diet the person follows, even gluten free. There are all kinds of fruit juices including freshly squeezed orange, peach, apple as well as Cava or Bucks Fizz. The only minus point I would give the Pavilion restaurant is that there are no designated areas for those who chose to smoke. Hence, parts of the restaurant were quite smoky. We raised this with the manager and he appreciated our comments.
The staff were friendly and always willing to help with anything, including our change of room. Porters take your luggage to and from your room in gold trolleys! We originally were put in a small room barely big enough for three adults. When this was raised with the rep we were moved to a much bigger and comfier room with average air conditioning.
The hotel is located 2 km from the centre of Benalmadena, which for us was ok as we hired a car. You can get a taxi for about 7 euros into the centre. Nearby, just up the hill inland there is a Dutch bar serving snacks and cheaper drinks than the hotel, there is also a small supermarket, a car hire shop and a chemist. About a 5-minute walk on the opposite side of the road there is a well-equipped supermarket (SuperCor) where you can buy everything you need on holiday. Near this supermarket there is a Burger King, a petrol station and bars and restaurants for those who don’t want to go to the centre of Benalmadena.
In Benalmadena the upstairs part of the Puerto Marina is great for dining out at night with a nice atmosphere and lovely choice of restaurants - a meal for three with drinks varied between 60 - 110 euros. If you get offered to go on the Sea Safari, which is a boat trip looking for dolphins etc.. This is well worth it as you will almost definitely see the dolphins jumping round the boat! This made up for the minuses of the holiday.
Overall, the holiday was good but nowhere near excellent. I would need to stay at another hotel to give Benalmadena a better review as the frustrations about the hotel dampened our holiday spirit. If you go to this hotel with the expectations of a 3-4* hotel you could be satisfied.
