My husband and i stayed at this hotel. Although its not the smartest it was clean enough and plenty of selection for breakfast as we went on a B&B only basis. The honesty bar was great as you could make yourself a toasted sandwich and a drink when you wanted/needed. The... more

It was awful. Very bad service, and very bad cleaniness. We had ants all over the place in the bedroom, including the bed, and even after I complained and they cleaned the room again, I coughed all night because of the very dusty air. It seemed I was sleeping on a garage or something like that

My wife and I have just enjoyed out first holiday in the Algarve staying at this hotel. We found it unique, and a tad strange in some ways, especially the 'honesty bar' running at all times but to be honest, once you got used to the idea it was nice to be able to make your... more

This hotel is situated at the top of a very steep hill, and this was certainly not pointed out in the brochure description, or my wife and I would not have booked. Neither of us are in poor shape physically, but with the gradient approaching 45% in parts, the location... more

Where's Cliff gone
A small intimate hotel, more like a villa, in fact rumour has it that it once belonged to Cliff Richards. More like stopping with an Aunt at her place. Cerro by the way means Hill and they are not kidding. Not suitable for people too old, unless using taxis, but then Albufeira is not exactly flat anyway. The journey back up from town is a bit of a hike, and a ball ache, but not impossibleand on the plus side the area around the hotel is dead quiet. The lack of staff outside meal and cleaning times is a bit spooky at first but... more
be aware albuferia has been ruined by MAJOR works
Our party stayed at this resort and same hotel with first choice last February and had a wonderful relaxing family holiday, as it appeared to caterer for all our tastes as among those travelling were a disabled person and an elderly person and we were therefore expecting much of the same this year. We were very familiar with the way that the hotel ran and also familiar with the area. The hotel its self was very much the same, good large rooms and very friendly staff. We did not have any problem with the cleanliness of the hotel as... more
Do Not Waste Your Money!! This Place Is Filthy!!
We were sold this holiday as a 4 star hotel, when we arrived the hotel looked ok, but as soon as you started to look around, it was quite clear that this is not a 4 star hotel, the hotel is very dirty & dusty, all you can smell when you are in the hotel is damp & dust. We stayed on B&B basis, and the food is very poor, they boast that they have a full english breakfast but the sausages were hot dog sausages, the bacon is streaky bacon and there are only scrambled eggs on offer, no fried egg, the orange juice is dilute orange, its all cheap... more
Cerro da marina
Great little place. Large, spacious rooms which are tastefully decorated and stocked with your own minibar fridge (which is very reasonably priced). The lounge area of the hotel has a warm, friendly feel to it and it almost feels as if it is your own villa. There is a 24 hour bar, from which you help yourself to drinks and snacks whenever you like - all they ask is that you write everything down in an honesty book (please make sure you do this as abusing this trust ruins it for other guests). Nice pool / sun lounger area (note: pool is... more
Quiet Hotel Close To Town....If you like walking up steep hills
Staff was very friendly especially Nico, Rooms were very clean and everywhere in the hotel was spotless. Food wasn't brilliant breakfast was a choice of 6 cereals, croissants cold meats and bacon(1 day sausage the next), scrambled egg and beans and plenty of hard bread, also 3 choices of juice and tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. If you are staying half board then good luck the food is cooked in olive oil(i think) which ends up making it very greasy and the vegetales was horrible - you normally only get a choice of 2 main dinners unless you... more
smal hotel
this hotel is very clean, and quiet, the staff are very friendly, especiall Nico, but hardly ever around between 10-30am and 5pm, all the rooms are tastefully decorated and quite large. The pool and the gardens are very small, not many views unless you are lucky enough to get a room at the front of the hotel. very steep hills to climb, best to get a taxi back after having a night out. About 15 minutes walk to the beaches, which are very lovely and clean, the square ia a wonderful place to go people watching and enjoy the music... more
Happy Memories
We stayed at the Cerro Marinas 4 or 5 times prior to 2002 when increasing back problems made access difficult. The hotel has a lift but it wasn't ever in operation. We loved our winter holiday there - the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff delightful. The breakfasts were excellent - the evening meal less so as it was a case of "Meals on Wheels" brought up from the sister hotel. This is not an hotel for those who want Bingo and associated evening entertainment but ideal if you want a quiet, laid-back restful environment with... more
Relaxing & Refreshing Hotel
We were allocated the Cerro Da Marina due to a last minute addition to our party of three having initially booked at the sister hotel. The Hotel is private, clean, tranquil and ideal for those wishing for a relaxing holiday. A member of our party had been ill for a number of months and this is the perfect hotel and location for convelescing. Worth noting is the continuing slope from the village/beach to the hotel but a pleasant walk for those who enjoy walking. For those who don't, then all taxis in Albufeira are only 3 Euros... more
quiet and cute
Situated at the top of a hilly residental area, this is a cute and lovely hotel, away from the sky high towers of huge hotels. The rooms are very well kept. If you enjoy your privacy this is the place for you. The staff are not around much, but are only a short walk away at the larger sister hotel. They are very friendly and well informed. If you don't mind walking, this is a charming and special place ideal for relaxing.
A special little hotel
Stayed at the cerro da marina 29/05/2003 for 10 nights. If you don't mind walking then this is the perfect hotel for you. The cerro da marina is set in a quite residential area. The room's are clean and bright. The swimming pool is only small and very cold but it is perfect for relaxing.
