Sea View Holiday Village reviews

Disgusted minus10 for a rating if I could, caravans not fit for use.

First caravan we were put in smelt awful of dogs and cigarettes, it was the budget range, but was not told these vans were soley used for smoking and dogs as I had neither the smell was bad. The toilet stank and had to buy cleaning products before it could be used. Found a half eaten pasty under the sink. Dog ball found under master bed. Large rip in the carpet in the lounge, and the painting around the shower looked like it had been done by a 5 year old, veneer finishings on lounge furniture all peeling off. When it rained our skylight leaked and although "repaired" the mastic didn't hold beacuse it was too wet, unable to use cooker (which only had 3 working rings) due to water dripping on it all day. Given a meal voucher! food was not good. Moved into a different van the followng day as that occupier had been moved because complained over dog smell. Cleaners had been in and air freshner sprayed profusely around made it bearable and it was at least dry. Site is prime position for views but that is all that the site has in its favour in my opinion. Have written a complaint as yet unanswered. If I do not hear anything next week, will be writing to Cornish Times and Tourist board, also Hoseasons, who I understand also can be used to book a holiday there, to warn them of the state of the carvans and lack of helpfulness from reception staff and training for cleaners. Bar was overpriced. Amenities on the site left a lot to be desired Food was disgusting, dirty chip fat you could smell in the club house, indoor pool was cold and changing rooms were dingy. Club house toilets were disgusting, dark, cold and smelly, not cleaned properly, toilet paper strewn everywhere, wet everywhere. Dogs allowed in the bar where there was food being served. Entertainment - nothing to write home about but endurable for an hour each night. Would not go back there ever again. A complete waste of hard earned money. Left early to come home as couldnt stand any more.

Best in Cornwall

Oct 2011, Kiacar

We have been going on four night breaks for the last six years, mostly in Cornwall and this is the best one of all of them, the staff are brilliant, the chalets ( No 6 )are clean, tidy and presentable our only two complains are that some of the furniture is dated and uncomfortable, still who wants to stay in of an evening when there is great entertainment in the clubhouse, the second is the lightening outside the chalets, could be dangerous late at night but non of this put us off going back next year,Bett and Dave Mason (Gloucester)

A Great Week

My family and i have just had one of the best weeks holiday we have ever had while visiting cornwall and more importantly Sea View Holiday Village.
On arrival, during the week and when leaving the staff always had a smile on there face, and were always open to chat with, and help with any quires we may have had during the week.
The site its self was clean and tidy, and well laid out.The view's of the surrounding areas where just stunning,we could not have chosen better.
We stayed in the number 39 chalet,on arrival it was clean and tidy.If i was to have any complaints it would be after a long journey down it would have been nice if the beds had been made up,and how uncomfortable the chairs were(but on the other hand we are on holiday, what do you want to sit around for).
There was plenty for the kids to do and keep them entertained.
So in closing if you are due here for your holiday you have no worry. We did not want to leave and as a family we can not wait to return.

Bloody awful !!!

May 2011, jac

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at seaview, coming back 1 day early. The shack we were in was damp, smelt and extremely dirty. On arrival we were charged for cleaning the accomodation at the end of our stay and i would love to know where the money goes and to whom as it obviously hadn't been cleaned in a very long time.
The shower curtain was mouldy and we couldn't have a proper shower because the water pressure was so low and according to reception nothing could be done about it.
The 1st thing we bought from the very over priced shop was air freshner, the cooker only had 1 ring which worked properly and even after someone coming out it still didn't work properly which is very dangerous.
The main bedroom had a very large pine bed which was damp and smelt mouldy, and if you are on the larger side you would never have been able to get into the bed as room either side was extremely tight.
The main living area consisted of a futon type bed which was uncomfortable to sit on let alone sleep on and the dining chairs were obviously from the club house and were chipped and rusty and dirty, the dining table was supposed to be pine but was a very dirty brown colour, the 2 bar electric fire which was kept on all the time we were in the accomodation was rusty and dirty, there was cobwebs every where and it just stank of mould and damp the whole time.
The entertainment was directed more at the kids and even the CASH BINGO was allowed to be played by children which is illegal and with prizes reaching £300 was out of order.
The magician was a bit close to the mark with some of his sexual inuendos which i found disturbing in front of so many young children.
Overall the accomodation and facilities were of very poor standard and i wouldn't recommend this park to my worst enemy, after reading so many complaints about the dirt and damp i would have thought something would have been done by now, but it obviously hasn't.
We wanted a relaxing break for a few days but felt we had to get out of the shack as early as we could just to get away from the smell.
We will definately read up on future holidays before we book from now on, this really was the most awful place to go and a total waste of money.

came home depressed.

went to seaview with my partner ,two children aged 6 and 4 months and my family and friends for a group holiday. on arrival the park seemed lovely but when we got to our chalet we was very disappointed to find a very cold damp and dirty basic chalet there was green thick mold growing up the walls in my childrens bedroom the kitchen was filthy and the bathroom and shower looked like it came out of a prison. The other members of my party had the same in there chalets and we were told the park had disabled facilities for my friends father which it clearly did not.We complained and give the staff there due they were very friendly and helpfull they cleaned the chalets and made a ramp for my friends father to get in and out of the chalet. As the holiday went on we found more things we did not like about the park the swimming pool was dirty and full of grime the games room and shop had hardly anything in it and the prices of the drinks in the bar were expensive although the entertainment was good thanks to dill who was exellent. We were also told the beach was in easy walking distance, well it was a good job we took the car as it was a long and narrow way down to the beach which my friends disabled father and me with a pushchair would never had made. looe and polperro are lovely little villages to go and visit as we did every day because we couldnt wait to get out of the park due to its lack of facilities. i wouldnt recomend this park to anyone unless it had a major refurbishment. i couldnt wait to go home as seaview made me feel depressed!!

Sep 2008, Mrs K Moreton

Already put in a piece complaining about the slack treatment dished out to ourselves by the useless staff at seaview. Just thought that I.d add that right from April of this year dispite many complaints letters to both the site and complaints bodies we have still not had any response let alont apologies for the terrible holiday spent at this incompetent site. So just thought I would warn others contemplating spending precious money for a much deserved holiday next year. IF YOU WOULD LIKE A RELAXING CLEAN HOLIDAY WITH PEOPLE THAT GENUINELY WANT YOU TO ENJOY YOURSEVES. DO NOT GO TO SEAVIEW HOLIDAY PARK POLPERRO CORNWALL. They couldn.t give a toss.

Jun 2008, Mr K Boulton

This was our third visit to seaview and once again a very enjoyable holiday. Dill the entertainment manager was brilliant as always. Caravan was cleaned and tidy although it was a basic one. The food is very good and very reasonably priced. A nice friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Although the rather snooty miss receptionist needs to change her attitude and improve her manners.

we paid for the top of the range...

May 2008, Mrs Kh Moreton

we paid for the top of the range caravan the Jubilee model. We waited for the cleaners to bring back the key at 40clock. When we entered the caravan was covered in hundreds of dead meatflys. I went to reception to complain, I said that the caravan could not possibly have been cleaned today and I was told very bluntly that it most certainly had. by a very rude receptionist. A cleaner was sent down to vacuum up the flies, which were in all of the bedding behind the furniture all over the cooker down the toilet everywhere..... Then one of the toilets was leaking making the carpet smelly and wet so we had to get a repair man as the cleaner was vacuuming. Then we noticed that we hadn,t got a dvd player which was in the brochure therefore our son couldn,t play his new dvds (this was supposed to be his birthday break complete with all the comforts of home). We went to reception to complain OH WE.LL BRING ONE DOWN...... this was all on the first day second day came still no dvd player, Then the second toilet started to leak spilling water into the hallway and into the bedroom, Then in the middle of the night we ran out of gas so NO HOT WATER OR CENTRAL HEATING WE WERE FREEZING We went to reception again the next morning to complain WE,LL BRING ONE DOWN STILL NO DVD PLAYER, some hours later we had gas again.... as we.ll as two wet bathroom floors and the remnants of the flie.s that the cleaner had missed. On the way out I went to reception to hand in the key and put in a formal complaint. Not a word of sympathy or remorse that our break had been ruined. On getting home I wrote a snotty letter putting into words my feelings of our disastorous weekend, I received not a word back so I.ve emailed 3 times so far threatening to report the camp if I did not receive so compensation or at least an apology I was told that they were investigating that was in April STILL NO APOLOGY I have never met such insolence and utter stubornness for an industry that depends on customer service they have no idea....

Seaview Holiday Village is a...

Apr 2008, Mrs Z Attridge

Seaview Holiday Village is a excellent location for those who want a semi quiet and peacful holiday.
Dill was incredible with the kids, i have seen many entertainers and kids lose interest, Dill kept the interest of the kids throughout, amazing man who i have alot of respect for.
The Seaview Staff were all so friendly we were made welcome no matter what we did, even our springer spaniel was made feel welcome and was allowed in the entertainment hall.
The accommodation was a lovely spacious 2 bedroom bungalow that sat facing the most amazing, beautiful views of the countryside and Over Talland Bay, it was a little chilly in during the night but the kind lady offered us a heater which done the trick. Everything was electric which was run on a £1.00 meter, this was very well priced.
The swimming pool was very clean and regular checks on a daily basis was made on chemical levels, next to the pool was a jacuzzi which was delightful.
Our Children love looking around when we go away and i always feel anxious about them going alone, Seaview is the only Holiday Village i have been too that i have felt my children were safe.

All in all we all enjoyed our 2 week holiday at Seaview Holiday Village and are looking forward to returning there shortly.
