Comments:  Booked this Holiday a year ago, Read all the Reviews ( Good and Bad ) before we went, so we were a little worried but went with an open mind,
We arrived at the Hotel at 11pm after a long journey my husband went to reception to book in and he was told that the Hotel was full and we had no Room, ( my Husband was furious ) we were told we had to go to another Hotel for three nights but to come to sun city to eat and drink and a room would be available on the Thursday, The Hotel they sent us to was very good and it was just down the road from sun city, We were told to come back at nine the next morning to speak to guest relations and that we would be compensated, Went over to Hotel next morning to be meet with rudeness from a horrible man with a big attitude problem , We were told this is how it is attitude was cant be bothered seen this all summer ( H O R R I B L E M A N ) compensation was a joke ( free safe & meal that was terrible ) We did try and stay at other Hotel but after three night they were full,
Went over to sun city on the Thursday room was ready for us by 1.pm and it was OK better than we thought it was going to be not 4**** but clean , glad we never went in summer Air con not working properly and sheets changed every 3 days 4 star ????? Good points about this hotel was all the other staff could not do enough for you so friendly and polite , food we thought was very good something for every one drinks were good ( Tip the barman ) done the job for us !!!
gardens are nice but a little over grown and wild big problems with moseys and wasps sat out on balcony it was like being in the middle of the jungle, this hotel could be very nice i think its the luck of the draw when you get there if there's a room and if its OK we meet people that were very happy and some that were very unhappy, olu Deniz is a nice place but don't think we will be going back to sun city.

Comments:  Do not go to this hotel you have been WARNED!!!!!
Food always cold and of poor standard and quality, hot drinks served in polythene cups and out of a vending machine which was rarely working or full up.Only 1 toaster for the whole complex and not in full working order and not cleaned out in the fortnight we were there.
Not enough seating in the restaurants and bars, or staff in the main bar in the evenings there was only ever 1 barman, who was rushed of his feet and did a good job, but why only 1 when the complex was overfull and having to put new arrivals in other hotels.
The room we were given was not big enough for 3 adults and was full of mosquitos both alive and dead all over the walls and ceiling!! we had no top sheets only ragged blankets, which were too small for adults.
Waiters were taking our plates of food away whilst we were still eating so they could get away on time, and they changed the meal times without telling everyone.
lots of bars and restaurants didnt open at all and the ones that did didn't open on time!!
no welcome pack given upon arrival. lots of stag and hen parties whilst we were there ans so were woken at 4 am most mornings by people jumping in the adults pool and shouting. the gardens are unkempt and overgrown and staff seem to have several jobs to do in a day ie cleaning loo's to the pool to serving in bars , all in the same dirty uniforms. we would not recommend this hotel and would never say it was a 3 star or 4 star rated hotel. definitely the worst hotel we have ever had to stay in and the only one we have ever complained about.

Comments:  On arriving at 5am in the morning we were taking to our room, first impressions were great, loved the surroundings and small but nice room.
Overall there was arounf 20 of us (wedding Party)
I was one of the lucky ones that got a good room, i think some of the buildings are older, we had digital air con and free working safe, other members of our party had a dial on the wall job that didnt work well.

FOOD

Well its hard to cater for every country but breakfast was a no-go for me but your not far from a full English breakfast for a couple of quid

There is a snack bar from 12 - 4 with free pizza/hot dog/cheese burger & chips or pancakes

And always got some kind of chicken for tea

Free bar was also a treat but beware there are no measures over there and a normal vodka would be a triple back here at least :)

Also free ice cream from 12 - 4 which was great for the kids.

ENTERTAINMENT

Faith, lucky, ronaldo,Ozzy and the team were great.
They always seemed to be about even on their day off (Sunday) and were a great laugh.
Tapo tapo haha
Each night at 9.30 there is a differnet show and kids dancing from 9 to 9.30

Beach

Private beach - wanted off it quicker than i got on it, think its more for older people and for wasp watchers

Theres a beach just down the road and if you go to the far left the sand is softer.

SHOPPING

There are plent of shop just 5 mins from the hotel - "Genuine Fakes" haha
You can easily haggle for a bargin
The hotel shop is very expensive for most items, remember and take sun cream, a bottle of sun cream and tan oil cost £20 !!!!

There is a market which come to Hisinoru (Mondays 15 mins away) and Feathie (Tuesdays 40 mins away) where u can but clothes, watches, Desinger Jeans everything really. Some things you will hear:-
"Cheaper than primark, cheaper than matalan, cheaper than oxfam, cheaper than shop lifting, buy one get me free" You just got to laugh!

ACTIVITIES

You can do alsorts from paragliding (£50), Quad bike safari (£16), Boat trip (£5 all day), scuba diving (£28), water park(£10) and lots of other day trips that dont cost a fortune.

If you are ever doing anything they will ake pictures and try to charge you a fortune per picture, what we done is haggle for them to be put on disc, usually about £10-£20 but then you get many pics and print them yourself

Nightlife

For us young ones who want a lively bar, there is cherry chows (Spike and victor) which has break dancers around 11, Shadows which has karaoke and a bar on the sea front called help which is pretty upbeat

If you want a nightclub you will have to travel to another town

MUST HAVES

For men a turkish shave, only £5 and you feel brand new after it, they massage your head and arms with it to

Also a turkish bath £10, with massage arounf £20 but well worth it.

A Drink of Raki, that stuff blows your head off, you can get this from the bar for free.

Take english money to, you will get more for it and can spend it anywhere.

I think i would return but not soon, this hotel has just been bought over by russians so it may be totaly different next season.

Now im home and covered in bites going to try somewhere different next year.

In the end your holiday is what you make it:)

All the best

Little Richard :)

Comments:  Just returned from our third holiday at sun city met some nice people and had a good holiday staff were friendly and the hotel very clean the food was very good although repetitive but how many of us have a different meal at home every day for 2 weeks The only downside was the rudeness of some of the other English people who were intent on trying to get as much moaning in as they possibly could during ther holiday. We go on holiday to enjoy ourselves and relax not to hear other people complain about the most trivial things have these people never been stung by a wasp in the UK. Sun City is (in our opinion) a good resonably priced hotel with adequate facilities. How many of the people giving these bad reviews scoured every travel agent to find a cheaper deal and compared it to to the likes of Tenerife (little Britain) you must accept you get what you pay for and Olu Deniz is a relatively new resort and thankfully for some of us has not succummed to the pressures of becoming a little Britain .Olu Deniz has great charm and having been there three times would most certainly go back.

Comments:  *DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL* had read some of the reviews before hols but as we had stayed there for the last 6 years thought they can't be right, but to our shock they are! apperatently the hotel has new owners and what a mess, food rubbish, everything dirty the hotel is now known by the locals as Sun [--] very appropriate but very disapointing as this was considered to be the best hotel in the resort, will be looking else where next year.

Comments:  we arrived at sun city in the early hours of the morning to be shown to what we could only call a dungun room , but upon complaining we were moved the following day to a much nicer room wuith views to the mountain . the room was much bigger as well and as a way of an apology we were given fresh fruit and wine. the grounds and room were clean to a high standard and we did see a man test the pool twice . the food was ok and no dont expect a fry up for breakfast but you get a fresh omlette made to order with a variety of choices throughout the day . we recommend the turkish food sampling night just to give the traditional food a try . the staff were great lovely and friendly to us and we even had a few naughty extras and we put this down to a small tip given to them at the begining of the week, this was a second honeymoon for us but we will be returning next year as soon as poss.

Comments:  just returned from sun city after 10 nights.i can honestly say its not that bad but its also not very good.what spoilt for us is the mosquitos we had room 303 basement first morning we got up husband had over 40 bites(i gave up counting after 40 )i also had some.1 bite was infected with me ,went to see rep she advised to see doctor we had injections and antibiotics once that was sorted we changed rooms .we were moved to second floor which was brilliant we had no further bites.food was ok no trouble with upset stomachs wasps were a pain in the restaurant especially breakfast and lunch.most of the staff were friendly ,we gave 10 lira to 1 barman at beginning of holiday (massat) and he took care of us every time we had a drink it was always in a glass not plastic well worth 10 lira.entertainment staff were brill must mention lucky and ronaldo who worked hard to get guests involved but if you didnt want to join in it was no problem they wernt hassling you.we found resort a little to quiet for us not enough to do in the evenings but glad we have tried it.what i didnt like about hotel was in the downstairs bar there were no lights on in the evening so that you could read or play cards which was a shame.overall not to bad wont be going back not because of hotel but resort too quiet.

Comments:  Having been at this hotel 5years ago i was not to worried about the reviews that had been written about this hotel. BUT WAS I WRONG turned up at 3.30 am to be told that are room would not be ready till after 12 am the next day and we would have to go to their sister hotel Olu Denzi hotel for the rest of the night. As their was not alot we could do at that time of night we went and came back in the morning excepting are room ready for 12. That was not so we didnt get are room till after 14 pm which was more than half the day gone. The next day we found out speaking to other guest we were not the only ones it was happen all the time. the hotel was over booked and the change over day was not working and guest were finding they were not getting a room on time or they were put in to the wrong size room. This was happen all week. For the first time in my life i got a ear infection from the swimming pool, went to the doctors who said he would be getting rich from the sun city guest as he had alot from the hotel. I must agree with the music at the pool side it could have been turned down abit. The food was ok but could have been better, wasp were the problem round your table when eating. All together their were problems but we didnt let it spoil are holiday met some fantastic people but we will not be going to this hotel again.

Comments:  Just got back from Sun City after a 7night stay with my wife and 19yr old Daughter. Must be honest, having never been to Turkey before, i wasn't really looking forward to it as it had never appealled to me at all. What a pleasant surprise i had, it was one of the best holidays i've ever had. The room was nothing special but adequate, at the end of the day you're only in it to sleep, it was certainly good enough for that. The Pools were immaculately clean, ample sun loungers for everyone and this was the busiest week of the year for Sun City. The food was in my opinion, excellent, a very good selection and choice for everyone, no matter what your taste. The Staff were so friendly and helpful, always smiling and happy, more so if you attempted their language, which to be honest and fair, is the right thing to do, (when in Rome !!!!!) the Entertainers did everything in their power to keep everyone happy, the entertainment might not have been the best but wasn't for the lack of trying, Lucky and Ronaldo were definitely boys for the girls and worked effortlessly, a very special mention to Baresh, what a guy, a lovely personality, helpful and a Heart bigger than himself, a truly lovely guy, Look out for him. All in all a brilliant holiday, surrounded by brilliant people, thanks to AJ & Sharon for their company and friendship.

Comments:  I have just got back from sun city and I loved it!...my son and husband did too!...I found the rooms big and clean. The restaurant was brill lots of choice for fussy people, my son is 18 months and I was worried before we went to turkey that he wouldnt eat very well...but infact he ate even better!....The pool was gorgeous always some1 tidyin cups n mess away. The staff were excellent they couldnt make enough fuss of my son!....I cant understand these bad reviews as we didnt experience any of those problems....my Husband and I will definately be going back to sun city!...If it wasn't for the amount of wasps and my son being stung on our last day I would definately rate it 10/10

Comments:  Went to club sun city in Aug 2008 with 2 children, partner and Mother. Overall we would not rate this hotel a 4 star more like a 1 star. Rooms were small but very clean, however after eating the same food for a few days and experiencing bad stomach and vomiting we decided to eat out although we did see the chefs warming up rice chicken and turkey that was served a lunch time and served then again at dinner time. My partner and I both had ear, throat infections which the doctor said we had caught from the pool but we were not the only people from our hotel that had seen the doctor that day. We also found out that our rep had been in hospital two days before we arrived with gastrointeritis and had been around the pool interacting with guests around the pool. To also comfirm another comment on this site with regards to human vomit in the kiddies pool which was just scooped out with a net we were witness to this. Also on the last day of our holiday we found out that tests were being carried out on the pool which came with worrying results which we will not put into this review due to slander. We have already lodged a formal complaint with first choice who we would NEVER travel with again. Although we enjoyed our holiday this was due to the fact that Olu Deniz is a beautiful resort and would recommend it to everyone although it is a little expensive a can of imported beer is £4. I would not recommed this hotel to anyone and it is obvious that first choice agree as it no longer appears in the 2009 brochure. This hotel is CRAP. Cancel if you get the chance.

Comments:  After reading all the reviews thus far, I am somewhat concerned that people are giving false information about the Sun City Holiday Village. Totally agree with Mr A A Damico as we were on holiday at the same time.

When we booked our holiday, we booked and paid for two rooms with a special request for one being for a disabled person. This room was GUARANTEED before travel but on arrival, we were put into a family room, downstairs! The room was full of mosquitoes, dampness and a terrible sewage smell. We tried to argue with Reception that we had paid for two rooms but were told there were no other rooms available other than the family room we were given (204). We also had to pay £65 which is not a deposit, for the safe for the 3 weeks.

The food at this hotel is nothing less than diabolical. Every day is the same, hot breakfasts are cold and totally unpallitable and consisted of cold scrambled egg (sometimes raw), cold baked beans, some form of sausage which is probably processed with chillies and onions (also cold) with one other dish which is generally a "Lucky Dip" and tasteless! Lunch - again not very pallitable but repetitive and cold. Again, cold hot food and very limp salad and I won't tell you how one lady described it to her partner!!!! Evening meal - same old same old ....... just like lunch. Snack Bar - the Dolce Vita - serves processed burgers, hot dogs, pizza etc. all with chips (at least 6 chips if you are lucky). The ice cream sounds good but it is scoop ice cream and generally soft so in the heat, does not last long. We stayed for 21 days and ate only 3 times in the restaurant at night. Every time we did this, someone in our family was ill so we had to eat out the other 18 nights. On many occasions, I sent the food back as it was not cooked properly or cold. On the first occasion, I was told I did not know what I was talking about. I have had many years experience in the Food Industry and because of my qualifications, I knew exactly what I was talking about. This restaurant and the food they serve is an infestation of bacteria and poisons waiting to happen and if it was in England, it would be closed down without question due to hygiene. As one minute the chef is scratching his head, his bum and whatever else and the next, he is handling food without washing his hands and/or especially wearing gloves.

We were informed by our First Choice tour operator (Last Resort!) that there were a few steps to the restaurant, reception and pool areas. But they also told us there were slopes to the restaurant and pool areas. This was good news as our son is wheelchair bound. Unfortunately, these slopes are fairly steep. Therefore, if the disabled carer is not pretty fit, then it is not suitable. The bad news is the Tour Operator neglected to tell us that there are 32 steps to the Amphitheatre and Terrace (evening) bar area. Nor did they tell us how slippery these steps are as they are pool side. There is grave concern that should there be a fire at the top of these steps, there is no other means of escape apart from a 40 foot drop.

The staff at the hotel are totally disillusioned with the hours they have to work and this is shown by the way they deal with the customers. We noted especially that there seem to be a discrimination towards the English and in particular, if your skin is not of the same colour as theirs. The Animation Team, Lucky and Ronaldo, do their best but as we went in August, they were obviously exhausted. Ronaldo came down with an ear infection on our 2nd week and told the manager he was no longer going into the pool. Reina, the Childrens entertainer, was also great but again, tired and disillusioned. Whilst we were there, there seemed to be a rapid change over of staff with many leaving.

The Pool and areas - but unfortunately, the sun beds and parasols are rather scarce which resulted in getting to the pool at 6 am to get a sun bed which seemed the norm. Some however came to the pool, reserved sun beds with towels and went back to bed. There are notices around the pool and reception saying "Do not reserve sun beds and any towels left unattended before 8 am would be removed". This happened once. The pool area was very slippery, causing many people to fall over and one young boy being taken to hospital due to head injury. The pool has two drainage systems running all the way around and there is a distinct smell of raw sewage. Whilst at this hotel, many guests suffered ENT infections, stomach bugs and some children were even getting cystitis. The manager knows there is a big problem with the pool but will do nothing about this. In fact, one morning the child's pool had human vomit in it which the pool attendant just scooped out with a net. No cleaning was witnessed. Water Polo was being played in the shallow end of the pool with young children wearing arm bands being sent to the deeper end of the pool. My wife was hit with a hard ball square in the face and at some speed - took 4 days to get over. The ball was also hitting the children in the small pool and other guests were having drinks knocked out of their hands and hot drinks were being carried in extremely thin, plastic, disposable cups.

The Bars - in the brochure, it states 4 bars. The bar by the Adult Pool serves fruit juices and water only. The evening bar opens late, closes late. The restaurant bar is only open during meals and the main Pool Bar serves selected drinks. But beware ..... I witnessed one barman handing out drinks that had not been ordered and then arguing about them, i.e. I asked for vodka coke and was served whisky coke and then got told I did not know what I was talking about because he was the barman! In the evenings, bearing in mind we only stayed on site 3 nights, on every occasion whilst sitting at a table, the bar staff brought over unordered strong cocktails which were given to the teenagers as well.

The hotel has been taken over by Russians and it is common knowledge they do not want the English guests - they want the Turkish, Russian, Polish and Eastern Europeans only. However, this seems to be the norm around Olu Deniz. I only wish that other British guests would boycott this hotel so that they can have a better holiday than we had and more importantly, before someone gets seriously hurt or worse!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYBODY, ESPECIALLY DISABLED GUESTS. Unless you are Russian, Turkish or Polish. PLEASE NOTE - We are not a racist family but this is so apparent at this hotel.

We are taking this matter further. We have already visited our Tour Operator locally and will be putting together a formal complaint.

Comments:  Went to Sun City last 2 weeks in August. Wouldnt rate this as a 4 star hotel. We have stayed in numerous 4 star hotels over recent years and this was not up to their standard. Nowhere near enough sunbeds, had to set the alarm for 7.30 to guarantee sunbed and a parasol. Loads of problems with overbooking (although we were lucky). Rooms are adequate but small, balconies are tiny. Had the turkey trots for a couple of days but I would say that the food is ok, plenty of choice but a bit bland at times. Restaurant staff work very hard.
Lots of people getting ear and throat infections, doctor in the town blaming the pool. People keep going on about the animation lads being great. They were cr*p! Waterpolo (adults only) followed by darts (adults only) followed by shooting (adults only) followed by table tennis (adults only), then waterpolo again (er-adults only). My 13 year old son was really p***ed off, noticed after a few days that teenagers were just milling about because they couldnt join in, never seen anything like this before, it was rediculous. One day they even had waterpolo....men only!!!! Worst animation team i've ever seen. The resort itself is very nice, scenery is lovely, plenty going on in the bars, beach is lovely, have a trip to the lagoon and a play on the pedalo's/canoes but beware of the wasps. Also note bars were expensive. Wouldn't go to Sun City again.
