Cala D Or Playa Apartments

cala dor playa is lovely for young children.Me,my boyfriend &our 3 boys age 10,8&3 went in may 2010.The apartments and pool was very clean.The beach is only about 5 minutes walk.Weve just booked again for july 2011.The kids cant wait! yippee.

Just returned from a 10 night stay at Cala D'or Playa. My husband, myself and our 2 boys of 9 and 6 had a fantastic time. Great pool and apartments. The 2 entertainers Henry and Leon, were really good fun and brightened each day. Our only complaint was money being taken from our room by a member of staff but it was returned when we reported it!!! Would go back tomorrow if we could!!!

We have just returned from a great week's holiday in the Cala Dor Playa Apartments (even though the first two days were overcast and a bit rainy). The apartments are clean and have enough room to do everything you need. The pool is great and warmer than most i have been into over the years. The splash park and kiddies play areas are clean and good fun (even the kids enjoyed it!).
Generally the staff at the complex are very good, however the dark haired girl on reception was found to be rude and very short with people (other guests also reported this during our stay). The entertainment staff a very friendly and not too pushy. We used the Kids Club and the girls running this were great with our little daughter (who is 3), she said this was the best part of her holiday!! The food at the complex was the best we have had oversea's, the breakfast is a must.
Evening times were great, you have the best of both worlds. The town being busy, if you have small or young children try the 'Jungle' and have a barbeque at your table! Don't just walk into the restaurants, wait for the rep outside and you will get free kiddies meals and free drinks (happy days). Also if you are going drinking first before dinner go to the Irish bar (Dugan's) they have happy hours 7.30 - 9.30 with buy one drink get one free, the staff there are also very nice. If however you just fancy a quiet drink watching the world go by and a good meal go to the Marina which is far more relaxed. It is about a 15 minute walk or you cna get the train (bus) which stops right out the back of the complex and is reasonably priced and good fun.
We will definately be returning next year!

We had a fantastic holiday at the Cala D'or Playa apartments. Our two children ages 7 and 4 wanted to be around and in the pool all day. The rooms were clean and had everything needed. We was there for two weeks and was well relaxed and rested. The kids were happy and joined in with the hotels entertainment which were a team of three fantastic people. The beaches were lovely and clean and not too far away. Many, many restaurants offering wide selection of food. Go down to the marina, approx 15 minute walk but well worth it (cheaper than restaurants in centre, with fantastic service and food, not to mention looking at the fantastic boats).
The staff at the apartments were always there to help and the food there was really nice.
Go to Marineland, excellent day out, the dolphins and the parrotts are excellent.
Thanks to all the wonderful people we met we had a fantastic holiday and can't wait to go back next year.

Just got back and what a holiday we had. the appartments are perfect has everything you need, clean and comfortable. the pool area is spacious, the beach is 10-15 minute walk away. The appartments suit families, and couples of all ages. if your looking for a wild holiday partying then this is not a holiday for you. if like me you want some sun, good food and relax time this is for you..... there is one reason that i did not score the hotel 10/10 and thats due to the television. Its not made clear that you have to pay 17.50 Euros for the week and 10.00 Euro deposit. in all we had 5 english channels which cut out after 11.30pm. we did not find this out till after we payed had we known we would have bothered as we only would watch the tv late through the night. apart from that it was fantastic.

This will be our 2nd return to this hotel it is by far one of the best we have stayed in with our 3 year old daughter its very clean and not far from the shops or beach we are returning again in may 2009 the rooms are clean and basic as are the pool and bar too we would recomend this hotel to any family with young children but not for older teanagers

I would just like to say what an amazing holiday I had at the Cala D'or Playa. Have to say this is our best holiday yet. Were away two weeks with our two children aged 3 and 8 and from day one we loved it. Arrived attended the welcome meeting which was very informative and fun at the same time! Loved the way the kids reps did their part at the beginning making a fantastic impression then taking the children to the back of the room to do some colouring so the parents could listen in peace, fabulous idea! We booked Pirates with Danny our main line rep who was a lovely lovely young man, ever so helpful and great with all of the guests. We also signed our two children up at the kids club we weren't too sure about as the children can be shy and were reluctant to go. First session we took the children to i really didnt think they were going to go in! However Dancing Danielle and Hyper Heather were fantastic with the children, it did not take them long to talk to the children and have them inside the kids club! After picking the kids up after the first session.... that was it!!!! Dancing Danielle and Hyper Heather and goin to kids club was all they talked about! they wanted to be in every session! When we kept the kids away from sessions they were not best pleased, however we did want to spend some time with them! The chocolate party was naturally the kids' favourite! What amazed us was how Danielle and Heather made it so fun and managed to cater from the ages between 3 and 8. Kepping all ages entertained and adapting the activities. These two kids reps were really fantastic, the best I have seen. You can see they love thier job, are great at it and 110% commited! Always smiling and full of energy.. raring to go! They had a two week timetable going so the kids didnt even go to the same session twice, ran activites through out the day, as well as getting in the pool between sessions, mini disco on an evening, face painting and also a couple of movie nights! WOW! Our mainline Danny was just as fab too! He also would get in the pool with the kids reps! We were lukcy to have him to take us to pirtes down in magaluf which is a MUST he was fab on the coach.. entertained guests and even took colouring in pictures and crayons for the children which he loaned from the kids club! This was such a great holiday the reps and kids reps made it for the kids and us! We will definately be goin back.

The Cala d'Or playa is a fantastic apartment complex for families with young children.
its in a nice quiet area of cala d'or however its only 3-4 minutes walk from the beaches and the resort centres
There is a first choice kids club, the two girls who where working there, Dannielle and Heather were BRILLIANT with the kids, there was plenty of session such as Chocolate Parties, Pirate partys etc etc They made our kids Holiday.
There was always a First Choice rep in the Hotel, Danny was the rep we seen the most he was very helpful and knew the resort very well and was always walking around the pool making sure everyone was happy, getting involved with the poolside games.
The rooms where spacious, basic but clean, air conditioning can be paid for at reception its fairly cheap but well worth it! The two Animation guys where brilliant and kept everyone busy with the fun games they played. They made the adults holiday! They were pretty crazy, especially when he chucked the rep into the pool when he was in full uniform!!!
Theres lots of restuarants nearby, however the cooking facilities in the room are limited but we dont go on holiday to cook... it was enough to make breakfast and lunch, but we went out for every evening meal.
The poolside bar staff where lovely and served well priced drinks and snacks.
The only issue we would have is that it can be about an hour and a half's coach transfer from the Airport. Maybe less in a Taxi.

Loved these apartments, we spent 2 weeks here and had a great holiday and we are hoping to return next year!
The rooms where lovely and clean, view from the balcony was brill, we had requested a high floor and a pool view, they threw in the mountains and the sea view as well!!!
I would definitely recommend these apartments if you have young children, we took our 9 yr old and she had a great time. The 2 lads who provided the entertainment where great (scooby and croissant).
The first choice reps where great, approachable and always happy to help. The reception staff where the same.

I am just back from some time at the cala dor playa and i must say i definatly be going back.
The hotel was excellent and the kids reps made our holiday so special for our children. The kids club ran every day apart from a saturday when the girls got a well deserved day off. hyper heather and dancing danielle were so friendly and my kids always came away from kids club laughing. We enjoyed the first choice mini disco every night too.
Danny was our mainline rep and he was so nice and helpful.he was more of a friend than a rep.
The 2 entertainers were around for a while during the day with different activities but we just wanted to relax and the kids always wanted to go back to kids club..especially the chocolate party.
The receptionist however was not so helpful she was rude and i dont think i saw her smile for the whole time i was there. If you need anything ask the male receptionist or the one with the blonde hair!
I would recommend this hotel and first choice to anyone looking for a relaxing fun holiday. 10 out of 10!!
