We have two kiddies under 5, so wanted a cheapish break.
We saw some incredibly cheap flights going to Bergen and booked. It turned out to be a pretty expensive break in the end - absolutely everything costs a lot in Bergen, so it was fortunate that we only had a two night break.
However, if you exclude the poor value for money it was an absolutely fabulous break.
Bergen is a very small (120.000 pop) city and the tourist bits are very compactly sited together so it isn't a tiring city break.
It is very child friendly, our kids went on a fairground type wheel; harbour boat trip; ride on a funicular steep rail type carriage-with great views and a sight seeing bus all in one day and that didn't feel rushed.
It is clean and has lots of fresh seafood. I would have given our stay a 9 score if it hadn't been for the high prices we had to pay. We are saving up to go back again though.
