Embassy Suites Hotel

Just got back from a ten night stay in this hotel and I cannot praise it enough. The suite was an excellent size, and was spotlessly clean on our arrival and kept the same way by the daily maid service. Our room overlooked I-Drive and unlike other reviews, which I have just read, we couldn't hear any noise - I didn't even know there was a helipad a couple of hundred yards away until I saw one take off a few days after we arrived! This hotel was clean and tidy the rooms are very clean and the staff are very friendly. A excellent hotel.

This hotel is located in a much quieter portion of International Drive but very close to the most popular Orlando attractions (Sea World, Universal Studios & Disney). The rooms were clean and spacious. As with other Embassy Suites there was a manager's reception nightly and complimentary cooked breakfast. The pools were small and cold but felt good on the warm summer afternoons. We just returned from this hotel yesterday and were pleasantly surprised. I never book a room without checking out some photos and reviews but we had no choice. It was spacious (especially the bedroom) with a great view of Orlando. We were on the top floor and had an entire wall of window overlooking the city. It was an unexpected plus. The rooms were clean, the towels were plush, and the staff was friendly. Those are all the pros. My wife & I stayed here from March 15th-20th, 2005 and had a great time. Our room was big even by Embassy Suites standards. The indoor pool area was great - in addition to a large pool, the area had a whirlpool and both sauna and steam rooms. The adjacent but separate exercise area had good cardio equipment and a solid all-in-one weight machine on which everything worked properly. I just returned from a four night stay for a trade show. Other posters are right that the building is old and the rooms are tired and smaller than at newer Embassy Suites. My room was clean and there were no glaring defects. The bed and bedding was comfortable and good quality. The exercise room was OK. It has some good equipment, including a first rate rower, but the weight machine was out of repair. The breakfast was marginal. However, the staff went out of their way to be helpful and pleasant to me and others that I observed.

we booked this through the hotel after disccussing all options with them. we booked a two bedroom presidental suite with balcony for five nights . when we arrived the smell of must,when you opened the door was overwhelming. there was no balcony, just a narrow sliding window that had cigarette butts jammed into it. it was dark and dingy and certainly not worth the price we were paying. we stayed long enough to secure another hotel. the only upside was that the staff were completely understanding of our disappointment and no charge was... more

After reading some of the negative reports here, we were not sure what to expect. However we were very pleased with the hotel. Yes, it is an old Embassy Suites. What's the problem with that. The hotel is well maintained and is updated frequently. Our room had brand new carpet. The only real negative point is the noise from the I4. You hear this really well in your room. My family of 6 stayed here for a week as part of a package .I was very discouraged with the entries posted and had second thoughts about going to this hotel.I am glad we went ,other than not having our agents booking !! the staff did every thing that was required .The location of the hotel makes it a great base for the theme parks,shopping and eating out with great retaurants all in walking distance.Just as well as no one appeared to used the Hotels in the time we were there. Over a stay of 5 days/4 nights, it was nice having the suite, but the hotel is old and is showing its age. The bedroom (2 doubles) had numerous stains (water stains?) on the walls, and the sheets and blankets were too small for the beds, coming untucked at every turn. The laundry facilities leave alot to be desired. 4 floors are supposed to have washer/dryers, but of course the floor I went to first had only the dryer and a space where the washer was presumedly supposed to be.
