Hotel Stellina Reviews
" Fab Holiday! "
Submitted By: Mrs MancSkiathos town is one of the nicest places we have travelled too, you can find lots of places to eat and drink and just watch the world go by - take a water taxi to one of the many lovely beaches that are dotted around the island.
We would recommend the Stellina if you want to sample typical greek hospitality and the hotel is only a 10 / 15 minute walk to the centre of hte town and even better the transfer from the airpor is litrally 5mins.
Advice: A classy, realxing romantic place to visit
Activities: Definitley Kookinaris Beach
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: Mr M SharpeAlthough the pool bar was packed at breakfast time, guests tended to spend the day away from the hotel. The hotel was predominantley full of Greek guests. We had the pool to ourselves the first week until more British guests arrived in the second who spent more time around the pool.
The hotel rooftop bar was excellent for a drink before hitting the town. The barman Akhmed couldn't be more helpful. Although his English wasn't excellent, he always had a smile on his face and would have your 'usual' ready as soon as he saw you. The views from here of the planes landing and taking off is worth watching.
It was quite a walk to the harbour, although not really far enough to justify a taxi. The nearest supermarket was a good 5 minute walk. The route to the harbour lacked footpaths in places and the roads were hazardous, I wouldn't reccommend walking with small children.
Skiathos was lovely. The harbour is beautiful and well worth the visit to Skiathos town. If you are looking for a resort that mainly caters for the British you will be disappointed. The resort is very popular with Greeks, Italians, Scandinavians etc. Club strip is very expensive and over-rated. It is full of Europeans who do not dance and there is no atmosphere. The drinks are very expensive and it is not worth the visit.
Having said that there are some lovely British bars in Skiathos Town. King & Queens bar is great. The owners Caz and Phil are so welcoming and giant jenga is worth a go...although the 'death charges' are a killer! The Kasbar is also worth a visit. Destiny Bar (although not a British Bar) is well worth a visit in the early hours. Although it is a gay couple who own it (they swear it is not a "gay bar"), we only ever met one of them, he was lovely. The music was great and it was far better than going to club strip. The Rooftop bar is excellent. Although we only discovered this towards the end of our holiday it was great. The couple who own it are lovely. The British bars tend to be cheaper and the owners will give you any advice you need regarding your holiday and will tell you where to go.
The tavernas and restaurants are all very much the same. The Garden of the East is the islands only Chinese restaurant and it was absolutely excellent. There are some lovely Italians, especially Aristona. The Tapas Bar is a must. Although slightly pricey, the food and wine was gorgeous and the views across the harbour are breathtaking.
Overall we had a great time in Skiathos. I would not reccommend it to young groups looking for a lively, cheap holiday. Skiathos Town is ideal for older couples looking for a romantic and cosmopolitan holiday.

Location is good nice walk into town taxi will cost you €3. Old harbour is beautiful. Town is a maze fantastic views well worth the climb up to the clock tower.
Drinks can be expensive down on the new harbour where the night clubs are €10 for a Bailey's.
All in all good holiday very relaxing went by to quickly as usual.

Submitted By: Miss C LandThe rooms get cleaned every day and the bed linen and towels changed every 3 days. The breakfast is very very basic, you get cereal, juice, tea/coffee and bread and butter, but the bar meals from the pool bar are very nice - especially the salads. The pool area is very clean including the pool. There are plenty of sunbeds but only a few parasols. The town is about a 20 min stroll away with a bus stop and supermarket 5 minutes walk away.
Although the hotel is very basic, it is very clean. I would recommend anyone who likes tea and coffee to bring there own kettle and tea bags and coffee and cups. You do get a fridge in the room.

Submitted By: Mr M JonesThe hotel was excellent value for money very clean, very, very friendly staff great relaxing pool area and 5 minute walk to Skiathos town ~ 5 minutes walk to the bus stop which can take you to every stop on the route in less than 40 minutes ~ well worth exploring the fantastic beaches ~ could not be more Greek, crystal clear water and beautiful clean sandy beaches shelving gently into the sea ... Ah I'm almost back there !.
Take a boat trip around the island Lalaria beach ~ sea is breathtaking and the rest of the beaches are just fantastic.
But there is far more to Skiathos than beaches , beautiful town, great bars and excellent food very chic bars and also just cosy relaxing bars. One of the best holidays ever!

The swimming pool at the stellina was the largest in the town and the surounding pool area was lovely.
We explored most of the island and found all of it enchanting and left us with a desire to return. The food is to die for. We enjoyed the holiday so much that we returned in September with friends, again staying at the Stellina and had another marvellous holiday.
We will return - we have found a place we love!
