Villas Del Sol Apartments

Went to Castilo del sol in October 2008. First time EVER ALONE !!! I had the best time ever. Rooms are basic but very clean. Nice little balcony with sea view. Staff are fabtastic , especially Lorreine who is an absolute star. Underneath the hotel is the best place to eat on the island. Minanas is wonderful with fresh food and lovely atmosphere. Having booked a last minute deal our options were limited - but we struck gold with Castillo del sol. Rooms are great for the price. Spacious, well equipt and extremely clean! We didnt spend much time by the pool or bar so did not get to know the staff like other people may have but even so they were exceptionally friendly. Excellent if you have children. Lorraine the entertainer keeps them entertained most of the day and night. Fishing, mini golf, For the adults she does a pool tornament , aqua aerobics and water polo.And she doesnt hassle the hell out of you like some entertainers or even speak on the mic before 12 which is good for the hangover people.The pool bar is good value for money with a happy hour buy 1 get 1 free between 8 and 9 every night. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here at the Castillo and can assure every one they should ignore most of the negative comments about staying here. The Hotel pool is cleaned daily, having seen it done with my own eyes!!! Chemicals are released overnight into the pool and at around 8 AM a man physically cleans out the pool with brushes etc. The room we had 108 was 100% spotless and completely clean when we arrived. Rooms were basic but EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN and comfortable. ALL staff were more than helpful, and very polite and friendly. Pool area is extremely well kept. Views are BREATHTAKING, DAY and NIGHT.Commercial centre below, with numerous shops and bars, as well as a variety of restaurants, both LOCAL and BRITISH. There are quite a lot of steps from the apartments to the COMMERCIAL CENTRE below, but this is the case for ALL hotels and apartments, not just the CASTILLO DE SOL, due to all accommodation being built into the hillside.
