Stayed at 93 castillo mar for the winter, and had a fantastic time. The complex has a lovely atmosphere and everyone was very friendly The apartment was spotless, and very comfortable, best beds we have ever had on any holiday. The managers Carol and Paul were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Booking through the owner,Sonia, was very quick and easy through owners direct. We have rebooked for this coming winter, that says it all!!

My wife and I have recently returned from staying at the above apartment owned by Andrea & Dave Spark who we found to be pleasure to deal with.
We found the apartment to be of a high standard. It was very clean, all utensills were provided, and it also includes a barbaque and two bicycles. The apartment is very comfortable and could not be better situated as most things are within a short distance away. There are plenty of bars, good food, supermarkets, and the beach within 5 to 10 minutes walk.
At the same time the complex was very nice and peaceful during the day and night.
We are lookig forward to going again as this apartment ticks all the boxes

Apartment No.6

Feb 2012, Lizzie

Very easy to book through Andrea & Dave. On arrival we were met in reception by Terry who lives on the complex. The apartment is compact but very clean and well-appointed and appeared to have everything we needed for our week holiday. The complex too seemed well maintained and at the time of our visit in late Jan/early Feb very quiet, which was one of the reasons we came here. Caleta is one of the better Canarian resorts we have been to, with an excellent sandy beach and long promenade for walking north to Neuvo Horizonte or south to Salinas. The apartment even has complementary cycles which are ideal for getting around the resort quickly. Bars and restaurants are two minutes walk away and seemed to offer the usual tourist food. We tried the Cosa Nostra at the end of the street but found it unexceptional. Supermarket is only two minutes walk away for the basics if you want to self cater. A free bus service also links the town with a shopping complex containing a large supermarket with a much bigger selection of goods. We ignored the free bus though and instead simply enjoyed the 20 minute beachfront walk to the shopping complex. Regular and cheap bus service links Caleta with Puerto del Rosario and Salinas. Plenty of car hire places also available in Caleta. Spectacular drives through the mountains and to some truly unspoiled beaches, rocky coves and cliff top walks on the west coast - would recommend Ajuy, La Pared and Los Mollinos all on the west coast for beaches, coves and short walks, Punta de Paso Chico on the west coast for its sheer isolation, Casas de Pozo Negra on the east coast for its feel of what a Canarian resort was like before mass tourism, and Betancuria (the old capital) in the mountains for history and unexpected greenery. If you are a walker park up at Vega de Rio Palmas (short distance north of Betancuria) and follow the dry river bed downstream to the dam of a silted reservoir. Pass the dam on it's east side and a path plunges into a spectacular gorge on which the tiny Hermitage of the Virgin de la Pena clings to a rocky ledge. 45 minute walk each way from Vega.
All in all an excellent apartment, well situated in a good resort with lots to do locally and in surrounding areas.

Just back from a week in Fuerteventura; first time on the island. It was our good fortune to find this gem of an apartment on Owners Direct website. The booking process was extremely easy, with very quick responses back from Andrea on any questions we had prior to completing the booking. The location is ideal for a quiet and relaxing holiday. We discovered that Caleta de Fuste, in our opinion, is the best resort location on the Island. The resort is fairly central, so making it easy to explore both north and south areas of the island. The apartment itself is lovely, well equipped and comfortable; we really appreciated the air conditioning!!

We have just returned from our third year running in Apartment 89 at Castillo Mar. This apartment is spot on for everything. All the little extra touches are much appreciated like air conditioning, washing machine and refurbished bathroom. The apartment is clean and tidy and the owners are extremely helpful and friendly to deal with. The complex is excellent with two lovely pools and very secure at night. Above all, it is peaceful which is what we want. We are booked again for next year and have absolutely no hesitation is recommending this particular apartment to anybody thinking of a relaxed and chilled holiday. Thank You!

We have used castillo mar on a number of occasions .these are appartments which people own and rent out via various websites. all the owners have put plenty of work into this complex to get it to the good standard which is it is now...the new pool is looking fantastic ,and when the removal of the old bar area in the pipeline this area will look even better with what they have planned, with seating and tables so all the owners / holidaymakers can sit and chat
all the appartments are simular 1 bedroom, bathroom balconey..living accom kitchen .downstairs toilet.and outside patio. but like i said all kitted out to what ever the owners have put in, the latest one i used had sky tv stereo system etc.. most will sleep 4 people with pull out bed in lounge area so ideal for familes etc
very quiet complex some days we where the only people sat around the pool which has all new sunbeds so no problems in getting one and most of the appartments have there own sunbeads which you can use on your balcony or patio area,,,which gets the sun all day ..the front door is to the complex is locked at 9pm so only the people who are stopping there can get into the complex , no issues at all with security ,
Castello mar is only 5 mins walk to the beach one direction or 5 mins into town ,but at the end of the road you have the trafalger bar..which you can get great meals or if you cross stright over the road as you come out the main door and walk left you come to the dog and duck pub.for cheap drinks lovely looking pub
but like i said your only minutes from the town from castillo mar so ideal for the town which is fantasic ,
i would highly reccomend these appartments

Just back from a wonderful holiday at a fantastic apartment. The best apartment we have ever stayed in. Has everything you need and more to have a great holiday. Very well equipped kitchen, lovely modern furnishings, gas barbque and even bicycles for your early morning ride along the beach cycle path stunning. Andrea was prompt to answer any questions and booking with her was first class. This was our first visit to caleta and we just loved it, cant wait to go back and stay at no6. Close to good restaurants and supermarket for your freshly baked rolls Yum.
Thanks again Andrea and Dave.

93 castillo mar - excellent

We have just returned from a two week holiday staying at 93 castillo mar apartments. Booking with Sonia was exceptionally efficient and completely hassle free. The property managers Paul and Carol were equally as efficient and very friendly and helpful. Thank you. The duplex apartment is beautifully clean and has all equipment and utensils necessary for a self catering holiday. It has a washing machine, iron, ironing board, hob, fridge and mini oven. We found the mini oven a bonus and easy to use. The bedroom is nicely furnished. There is a safe in the bedroom and also a hairdryer. A balcony leads from the bedroom which contains two sunbeds, a table and two chairs. This balcony is a great place to sit and gets the sun until around 7pm. On the ground floor there is a patio outside with a table and chairs, a wonderful place sit, either in the shade or get more sun! The pool area is nicely kept, plenty of sunbeds and you dont have to put towels on the sunbeds - oh what a novelty!!!!!!! There are improvements being carried out at the complex at the moment but we can honestly say that these do not inconvenience anyone, hardly any disturbance and will make the complex even more attractive.

We stayed in 91 Castillo Mar for the first 2 weeks of August this year and can highly recommend it. The apartment has been completely kitted out a couple of months ago and everything was new. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped with all we needed for self catering. We did eat out every night as there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from particularly close to Castillo mar or just a short stroll away. We particularly liked Legands bar which had live music every night. The pool and sun beds at the Complex were very good and plenty of them.
We wanted to book for Christmas but this apartment gets snapped up quickly so we have booked for May 2011 and August just in case there is no vacancies later on.
Can't wait to go again

My husband and I stayed in No 89 for a week in May 2011. We both found the apartment to be very clean and provided everything we needed. Just a short walk to the beach and plenty of restaurants to choose from. I am pleased to hear that improvements are being made to the pool area as the old bar area was rather old and tired looking. We only saw one cockroach and that wasn't until the end of our week and although I am not particulary keen on them it really wasn't a big deal, my husband soon dealt with it. I absolutely loved our week we had gorgeous weather and i was delighted that we had such a sunny balcony. We were met by the owners representative who was delighful and very helpful. We are returning in October but sadly No 89 was not available.

We have just returned (yesterday) from 2 weeks at 89 Castillo Mar and it was fantastic. The owners were extremely helpful from the time of our first enquiry, and once we had booked we received an information sheet about the apartment and what to do when we got there. On arrival we were greeted by Terry, their very lovely property manager, who showed us the complex and the apartment, and told us he lived on the complex if we needed anything or had any problems. He had even left the aircon on so the apartment was lovely and cool when we arrived.
The apartment itself is lovely, just as described and very clean. It is a good size and has everything there you need, including washing machine, TV and satellite, iron and ironing board. There was also a safe, and plenty of spare bedding should we have needed it. The aircon in the bedroom is fantastic for cooling off when you get back from a hot day by the pool, and there is a powerful fan in the living room too. Both the bedroom and the living room have heavy curtains for keeping out the heat and the light, but also much thinner, lighter curtains so you have a choice. There is a lovely balcony on the first floor with table and chairs (and a line for drying clothes with plenty of pegs), and there is a seating area outside on the ground floor too. There are also 2 sunbeds, although there was never a problem getting a bed by the pool. There were also little things like a couple of UK plug converters and a kitchen drawer full of useful bits and pieces. I really can’t think of anything else they could have provided.
The complex itself is really lovely, not too large, and kept safe and clean. There was evidence of some building works in a small area of the complex but this had been neatly cordoned off and there were no works going on when we were there. There were lots of families aounrd and everyone was very friendly. The pools are kept beautifully clean (by Terry, who also works around the complex). It’s also quite quiet at night, compared with some of the hotels which seemed to have live music until late. It’s a about a 5 minute walk to the beach and main area for shopping and restaurants, so ideal for everything really.
Just to say also, as someone else has mentioned in a previous review, we had no issues with cockroaches or ants or anything else like that. It is a hot country, creepy crawlies are a fact of life so we had some spray on standby but didn’t actually need to use it. It was a bug free fortnight!
We had a lovely time and if we return to Caleta we won’t hesitate to try and rebook 89 Castillo Mar.
