I have been reading the various reviews on here and whilst I can empathise with what most of the fellow reviewers have to say about the Royal Plaza I do feel that perhaps they are being a little harsh! It is really NOT THAT BAD! Ok, its not a 4 Star as we know them, ok, the... more

Jus come back from a week at the royal plaza hotel in marmaris. When we pulled up outside the hotel we both felt sorry for the people having to stay here as it looked very run down and very far from the resort itself and the beach. When our names were called we were... more

I have just got back from a holiday with my fiancé in turkey at the Royal Plaza hotel. I can honestly say I am someone with very high standards and I found the Royal Plaza a brilliant place to stay. The rooms were basic with the amenities, we had a fridge situated in a... more

My partner and really enjoyed the location of the Plaza as it is about two miles from the hassle of the busy Marmaris front. The Dolmus station is opposite the hotel and the member of Dolmus will take you to Mamaris market on a Thursday, the number 2 will take you to the... more

Ok where do I start! We arrived at the Royal Plaza and the reception was helpful and check in was straight forward, then we got shown to our room. We had great views from the balcony but if you are expecting a 4* room you will be greatly disappointed. The best comment I... more

After being moved from the awful sister hotel, three doors away 'The Hermes' I was in need of some reassurance that my holiday was going to be all that I hoped for! THE HOTEL: ROOMS- Well, the rooms are basic but they are clean. I would say the cleaner could do a better job... more

Myself and my husband have just come back from staying at the Royal Plaza Hotel. We were very disappointed with the so called 4 star rating that was given to the hotel. It is a very dated hotel with rooms that have been thrown together and furniture that is broken or is... more

loved marmaris pity about the hotel
so not a 4*. never changed our sheets just about changed the towels and only cos we got em filthy after jeep safari. breakfast was 'different' no other words for it. staff were friendly enough. aircon in the others rooms didnt work and no one came to fix em loved marmaris- if you want to do day trips and stuff they are cheaper with the locals than with your rep
nothing royal about this hotel
just got back from a 2 week stay in the royal plaza , staff lovely except the house keepers very very lazy they only changed bedding and towels if you stripped the beds and left outside door , never cleaned our room once in 2 weeks , £ coins went missing frequently, best place to eat by far was violets over the road the staff were the best ever, food excellent and cheap, mustis was lovely too but more expensive, further into town we came across the royal oak fun pub that was a wicked place dave the co owner was as mad as a hatter very good... more
Tired
Arrived back from the Royal Plaza yesterday, overall the Hotel is not too bad, however, the decor is looking very tired and in need of some TLC. The staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast consists of bolied eggs, bread, salami, cheese and cereal, coffee left a lot to be desired and the juice was watered down. My only real complaint about the hotel was that the electric went off twice in the week that we were there and trying to shower in the very small bathroom in the pitch black could have resulted in a real accident,... more
luv it
Second time at Plaza, can understand the critical posts, but feel there are more good points to this hotel than bad. Lets face it I've heard criticisim of the Ritz. Yes the furniture needs attention, but it is perfectly serviceable. the beds are hard, but some people like them, and a folded blanket under the bottom sheet took the edge off it. The rooms are large, cleaned every day, linen/towels every 2days. Family rooms are huge, double bed- 2 singles- dining table c/w 6chairs- coffee table with 3armchairs, Ample Wardrobes-... more
Say it as I see it
We stayed here in June 07. This hotel has a rating of 3 *** I would rate the outside as 3 *** and the rooms as 1 *, when we arrived we thought that it looked great, the pool is fantastic and looks clean and well maintained, the outside of the building is well presented. When we got to our room it was immediatly obvious that it needs a complete makeover, the furniture is old and dated (falling apart in some cases), the beds are old and hard, the bathroom is hmmm useable, you`ll be lucky to get any hot water which wasn`t much of a problem as... more
briiliant staff!
We have just returned from the royal plaza hotel in marmaris, although we didnt think the hotel was 4 star we had an amazing time.We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were all brilliant. They were very friendly. The hotel was spotless, with the rooms being basic but clean with clean bedding and towels every day.I would recommend the turkish bath which is available in the hotel as it is a great experince. Although the hotel was not right in the centre of marmaris there was a bus station directly across the road with frequent buses into... more
Good Hotel
went to Royal Plazza Aug 2006 this was our second visit but must admit standards had droped a little, but still a friendly clean and enjoyable stay. Staff excellant especially sid and mustfaa who can't do enough for you. Needs to hold some sort of evening entertainment . Would consdier going back again. Good hotel for all ages better then sister hotel.
the star rating should be crosses XXXX
I booked this hotel because it had a four star rating but when i got there and saw it i was bitterly dissapointed as were other guests that i had spoke to. The furniture was broken and worn, Cubords wouldnt open or close properly, the tv didnt work properly and the bathroom was in need of a good cleen. The vew from the balcony was over looking some waste ground and back yards. the air con is just that a con £4 per day if you are brittish but if you are from another country its 4 euros. The food in the dinning room is a big disapiontment... more
if you like the good things in life then stay away from this hotel
having booked last minuete with vision holidays,my daughter and i flew with pegasus on 310706 from newcastle airport. two hour delay getting on plane, then once on plane chaos as there were passengers already on from glasgow, sitting in alocated seats. we got a seat no problem but famlies were split up, not a good start. once we arrived and found our bus, there was a 45 min delay wailting for the rest of the passengers. journey started for 2 hour transfer when we stopped for a break after 30 mins, the last thing u want, u just want to get to... more
Loved the Royal Plaza
After being upgraded from the dreadful Hermes Hotel, the Royal Plaza was fantastic, the rooms were big and spacious, the facilities were fabulous and the staff were very friendly. The turkish bath is a must at this hotel. It costs only £6.00 for a full body exfoliation, a full soap massage and mud face mask and lasts about 1 hr. Recommend a treat for your first day as you won't peel after tanning. If you visit this hotel you must vist 'MUSTIS FUN BAR' which is just across the street they are a wonderful family and the food is amazing.... more
