We are a family of 5 that visited Malta in April 2011 for a week in the Club Pergola. I take 3 foreign holidays a year and this, without question, is the biggest let down I have experienced. All week we were all awoken from 6am in the morning from the noise above us. Our 2... more

My familly and I love Malta and the Pergola,we have had two lovely holidays there in 2007 and 2009 I have just booked again for August 2011. We found the Hotel Staff to be friendly and efficient, and the facilities well presented and clean. We have always stayed in peak... more

Very nice hotel. Got to get used to the lift system or you end up using the stairs all the time. Not ideal for disabled persons. Staff very friendly. Rooms and hotel itself very clean.

We went to a time share presentation at this hotel and were offered holiday vouchers as an incentive. They did not give us the vouchers at the time but only gave a letter saying they would send them on. They did not do this and refuse to answer emails. Don't trust them!

The location and weather was superb, the down side was the hotel. Sun beds were crammed together to maximise the space, and the hotel corridors were like a rabbit warren due the many added extensions. We were fine with location being fairly young; however elderly guests... more

We enjoyed a fabulous week at this hotel/apartment. We found it very clean, comfortable and staff very friendly. A word of warning although the hotel boasts 2 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool, both the outside pools were small with a tiny circular kids paddling pool. The... more

The Pergola Club provided very good facilities. There were 2 outdoor pools, both of which were very clean and an indoor pool which, as it was June, we never used but it too was very clean. The room facilities were good with a well equipped kitchen. There were 4 of us, 2... more

Our stay at Pergola Hotel
Our stay at the Pergola Hotel was great, the front desk staff where of great help with our questions about the island and the village of Mellieha. The room was very good sized and overlooking a most amazing view of the village and it`s bay. The food is good and the service staff very polite and friendly. The Hotel itself was very clean and we spent some lovely time near it`s pool enjoying the Maltese sun but for those who want to go out the reception also offer a lot of excursions which can be booked directly from them. When we go back to Malta for our next holiday we will surely opt for the Pergola Hotal as they troughly helped us enjoy an amazing stay.
Summer holiday
I just have been on a short break at the Pergola Hotel. The stay was great. The staff was very kind and helpful and the rooms where in very good condition.
loved hotel, staff very good and helpful
We went last August to stay at the Pergola Hotel in Malta, it was my first time in Malta and the Hotel and it staff were very good and helpful. They gave us information about local attractions and amenities. We enjoy our stay so much we have decided to go back this year and stay at the Pergola. We would like to thank the receptionist for helping find our way around and for making the holiday so special. Also we would like to thank the cooks as the food was very nice and a good selection. I would recommend this hotel and its sister hotel to anyone.
Fantastic hotel and holiday
Hotel Pergola was a wonderful place to stay. Melleiha Bay is so pretty and the views from our room were breath taking over the bay and the most beautiful church. We found the staff there so helpful and going out of their way to ensure we had a holiday to remember. Especially Malcolm and Amanda in reservations who dealt with all our needs to the littlest details. We had a baby and toddler in our party so needed a clean efficient hotel. The children and adults loved the swimming pools, and activities at the hotel. Everything is kept spotless and the staff were cleaning the pool, sundecks and loungers every morning at 7oclock. The apartments and rooms were cleaned every other day and clean towels were left. Beds were made and the cleaners even tidied up after lazy young ones. We had a problem with one bedrooms aircon and the maintenance man was there in ten minutes and switched on a switch we had not found. The barbeque evening was excellent value. There was music every evening and a different theme night like cheese, chocolate, drinks etc. This hotel is not ideal for people who want really late nights like clubbing they can go to Buggiba or Paceville for that. We did lots of day trips which were great but tiring. The Spa offers great head and body massages which the women in the party loved. The men used the well equipped gym but got too hot so gave that up. There is a supermarket just outside the Pergola and the owner is a really helpful young man and prices were reasonable. There is lots of shops and restaurants near Pergola all excellent. The beach there is lovely and the sand is soft. Boat trips are great too. We loved Gozo,Valetta and Medina. Malta has everything culture, excellent food, lovely people. What more could you want from a holiday? We give Pergola 10/10. Next time we will visit in May or September as the weather too hot for us in July. Thanks to everyone at Pergola see you again we hope soon.
Great atmosphere and very clean!!!!
I chose The Pergola because my friends recomended to me and i desided to try it! When i arrived it was very late but the receptionist during the night gave us a great welcome! Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool which was quite benefital for us as i could see my children swimmimg from the room. Cleaning was done every day ,all cleaners are very helpful and friendly. Also the hotel enphasises alot on the families as a matter of fact a special person visited us on regular occasions just to talk to the children and give them things to play. This is a very good idea and all hotels should learn from this example. Thanks to all stuff for making this holiday amazing!!!!
The best views in Malta
We actually booked a normal hotel room but were given an apartment upon the hotel's free will. The apartment was large, spacious, 2 bathrooms and a nice balcony overlooking a big cathedral and other islands in the maltese archipelago. The food was very good, both breakfast and dinner. Would do with a little more selection for lunch. Staff is great, made us feel welcome from the very first instance till the last minute. Mellieha is a very nice small town at the north of the main island, very near to Gozo. Buses run frequently (yes they are funny) so no problems for transport
Marvellouse Holiday
We have stayed at the Pergola Hotel 6 times n the last 5 years and have always found it an enjoyable experience. We eat at the hotel most nights and find the food very enjoyable. We find the hotel a very friendly, courteous, efficient place to stay and would recommend it to any of our friends.
Fantastic Hotel
We booked the hotel and paid for the holiday. I then read the reviews on this site. I was a little disappointed and wasn’t looking forwards to the holiday as much. Anyways when we arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was a basic double room but very well presented and clean. The cleaners came in every day and gave us new towels. We didn’t have the best view as it overlooked the steps at the side but this wasn’t an issue as we didn’t spend much time in the room. On the recommendation of other reviews we took our own towels so we could sit by the other pool. The main pool was quite noisy and had some appallingly behaved children running around (which is no fault of the hotel). The other pool was quiet and had no more than 3 couples around it at any one point. We also took our own water to the pool as well as there is no bar at the second pool, whcih suited us well. We had breakfast included in our room and this was excellent every morning. There was a real choice of options including the good old English breakfast and a European choice. We didn’t eat in the hotel as there are so many restaurants nearby to eat in. The best one we found is an old converted windmill up the very top of the hill. It was amazing. We found all of the service to be very slow in Malta but this is just the way things are. We also went on a boat trip to Comino and Gozo through, Oh Yeah watersports on the sea front and this cost no more than 5 pounds each. Most places take Maltese currency and the Euro as well. All in all this was the best value holiday we had. It had a great balance of restaurants and a couple of bars for the evening and also very peaceful during the day. We only went for a week but there are so many trips to different places that we would have been more than entertained for longer. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, my parents are even considering it for September.
Wonderful - would recommend this
We recently stayed at Pergola Hotel & Sp where we had booked an apartment as we had taken both mother's with us. The apartment overlooked the pool area and across the bay to Gozo. The apartment was well furnished and we had more than adequate supply of towel/linen changes. The whole apartment had a most welcoming atmosphere from the moment we walked in - pleasing our ageing mothers of course! The food in the restaruant was good but there are plenty of restaurants to choose from locally. I can recommend the spa treatment - especially for us girls to unwind and get away from it all! The lifts are somewhat confusing but once you have mastered these you can find your way around comfortably. Resort was extremely clean and staff friendly. Would definitely recommend this and will be return again.
avoid
Unfortunate stay in the Pergola, 1st room we were allocated was in sad state, complained to duty manager and next day offered another room, room was not cleaned on daily basis, clean towels suplied on most days. suprised at charges for coffee making in room, + extra charges for tv remote contol and old fasioned safe. had to have windows open because bathroom drains smelt badly.
