Just returned from a one week All Inclusive Holiday at the Jacaranda Hotel. On arrival, we were checked in by the efficient & polite staff. Whilst booking in, we paid for the safety deposit box in our room which was 15 euros per week. The directions given by the receptionist were confusing, but after wandering around this large hotel, we found our room and were pleasantly surprised as it was large, clean and modern. However, the walls are paper thin, so thin that you can be kept awake at night by your snoring neighbour - we were! The plumbing in our en-suite ment that water ran from the toilet cystern constantly during our stay.
The Jacaranda Hotel has a number of good sized pools surrounded by a large number of sunloungers. However, the rules about putting your towels out on them are ignored, so if you want any in particular, you better be prepared to get out of bed early! We spent most of our time around the pools on Level Five as there is a nice small pool bar which overlooks the top of the waterfall feature and caught the sun for most of the day as it is not shaded by the hotel buildings unlike the pools on the ground floor. Most of the signs around these pools on Level Five state that they are for adults only, however, again, this rule was ignored!
The Jacaranda Hotel has only one restaurant which caters for all your meals and provides a small, repretative choice. There are two sitting times for the restaurant, 5,30 pm and 8.30 pm, but we were only offered the later time when we checked in to the Hotel. There are no catering facilities which offer snacks between the main meal times, except for cream cakes offered in the bar beneath the waterfall feature.
The All Inclusive blue wrist band did not mean All Inclusive at the Jacaranda. Unlike all the other All Inclusive Holidays that we have been on, it doesn't entitle you to any drink from any of the bars, but from a small selection on a seperate drinks menu. If you want anything not on the drinks menu, you better be prepared to put your hand in your pocket! Other things which you need to pay for are the Pool Tables which cost 1 euro a game and the sauna & steam room is 20 euros to use in the "new" gym, which is small and poorly equipped - it's a joke for a four star hotel!
The evening entertainment was poor and sometimes embarrasing, especially the hotel's own entertainers.
All in all, we enjoyed a relaxing week away just before Xmas, however, I wouldn't go back to the Jacaranda or recommend it to family, friends or collegues. There are better All Inclusive Hotels in Tenerife.

We stopped at the Hotel Jacaranda for 1 week, it was by far the best hotel I have ever stopped in. The staff were extremely friendly and couldnt offer to help enough, the food was great, giving a different variety every night including pork, steak, chicken, lamb and beef. Lots of vegetables and good variety for children. The cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding! Every morning the cleaners would be cleaning around the pool area and every evening. Reecption staff were very helpful and someone was always there throughout the night. We made very good friends with the bar staff and the lifeguards who were lovely. A week at this hotel definately isn't enough, if i could of stayed longer i would. Look forward to going back June 09 for 2 weeks :D

Having just arrived back from the superb Jacaranda Hotel In tenerife.....
I had to write a review, about the fantastic time, myself and my family had here... On arrival we were met by a spacious reception and friendly staff. Our room was very comfortable, exceptionally clean, which was cleaned every day and given fresh towels too, it was also cool and had the added bonus of a pool view. The food at meal times was varied and non repetative although limited choice for children, but my five year old son always found something to eat. The staff were always willing to help and always friendly. Spending a few days by the pool was enjoyable and finding a lounger was never a problem, evening entertainment was above standard and always kept your attention, the reps did everything in there power to give you a enjoyable day and evening at all times. There is just one point for me to make, that this hotel has people from all countries, but we did not find this a problem !!! All that leaves me to say it was a a beautiful hotel and a lovely part of tenerife, but sadly we had to leave, but have no doubt we will be returning some time very very soon !!! :o)))

Just got back and had to write a review...the Jacaranda is brilliant, me and my daughters had a fantastic time. Rooms were spacious and cleaned daily, I thought we might struggle to get a sun lounger by the pool but always found some free. Although it's a very big hotel, I never felt like I was surrounded by people. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to go back next year. Brilliant!!!

We have just got back from this holiday, and on the whole, feel that it was very enjoyable, however, Thomas Cook, our tour operator, are useless- do not book with them.
We arrived early evening and were dealt with quickly and efficiently at reception. Our room was clean and spacious, but was a good 10 min walk with the hotel being so big. We were not offered porter assistance with our luggage.
The restaurant is the hugest that I have ever seen. Food was replenished frequently and there was a vast selection to choose from, however, the desserts are limited and repeated daily.
There are two pool areas at the hotel, both home to four pools. The pools on the 5th floor are dominated by Italians and the animation team on the 5th floor speak Italian only. Another thing to note is that these pools are salt water.
The pools on the ground floor are used by everyone else. Mostly Dutch, Spanish, German, French and a few English. There are two bars on the ground floor, one of which, we didn't even know about until our last few days. Getting a sunbed is something of a daily battle and something which I quickly tired of. Many sunbeds get reserved for the entire day and never used, even though this is prohibited by the pool side rules. All of these are entirely overlooked, at all times. There were also a lot of kids around the pool that deserved a slap, but their parents didn't care.
The shop in the hotel reception is the biggest rip off ever. It's cheaper to buy 2litres of Evian in London than it is to buy 500ml of water from that shop, however, there are 3 supermarkiets within a 5 min walk outside of the hotel.
All of the tour operators within the hotel hard-sell the daytrips to the aqua park. Its a great disappointment- the rides are crap and you even have to pay to sit on a sunbed there, after paying the extortionate entrance fee.
A couple of random items went missing from our room, so make sure that you cram everthing you can into the safety deposit box.
Overall, it's an excellent hotel and I would go back

We had a fantastic time at this hotel. The staff couldnt do enough for you, the food was great, our daughter is a fussy eater and she managed to eat loads!!! Please note that in the restaurant men have to wear long trousers. My husband didnt take any so the hotel lent him a pair for the entire 14 days that we were there, no charge. The hotel and our room was extremely clean and well looked after. The main pool is mainly for families and this is where the kids club is located. We were able to sun bathe whilst watching our kids in the mini club, which was brilliant, the kids loved it. The entertainment staff were very good, always acknowledging you regardless if you wanted to get involved or not, they spoke very good english and were very funny.
The location is good, only ten minutes transfer from the airport. The beach was a ten minute walk, with shops on the way.
We would not go back to Tenerife only because we like to go somewhere different, but if we could pick this hotel up and move it to a different place then we would!!!!!
10/10.

We travelled as a party of 6 in December 08 as my wife was 40 whilst we were there. We stayed on a half-board basis and the Jacaranda was an absolutely great place to stay with very helpful and polite staff. Although we hadn't informed staff that my wife was 40, we were left chocolates in our room on her birthday and entertainment staff gave her a bottle of bubbly and balloons! The room I had with my wife and daughter was perfectly large and air conditioned. Ours was on the lower ground floor (the same as the main pools, so we were only a short stroll from the sun loungers. The restaurant catered for a variety of tastes, although our only criticism would be that there was not a huge selection for fussy children like our daughter. That said, there was always something she could eat. The entertainment for children in the evening was good but repetative, although that didn't seem to bother the children who danced and jumped about life dafties ! The adult entertainment later in the evenings ranged from mediocre to excellent. The Temptations tribute group were particularly good. The Jacaranda had plenty of organised entertainment during the day, ranging from the now expected Bingo to water sports, pool, archery and air rifle shooting. The hotel is situated 5 minutes walk from the sea and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. If you want a special meal, as we did for my wife's 40th, try "Coeur de Filet", which is 5 mins walk from the hotel. It is a bit more expensive than others locally, but the food was superb. All in all we loved th hotel, would recommend to others and we intend to go back in December 09.
