WE HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM OUR FIRST HOLIDAY TO SKALA IN KEFALONIA.
WE HAD READ MANY EXCELLENT REVIEWS ON THE NINE MUSES HOTEL AND WE CAN ONLY AGREE WITH ALL THE COMMENTS
THE HOTEL AND STAFF ARE FANTASTIC. THE HOTEL AND ITS GROUNDS ARE BEAUTIFULLY KEPT AND EVERYWHERE IS SO CLEAN.
THE RESTAURANT AND STAFF WERE GREAT , FOOD SUPERB.
WE WILL DEFINATELY RETURN TO THE NINE MUSES AS WE HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME.

" We have just booked our holiday for... "

We have just booked our holiday for this year and yet again we are going (for the 6th time!) Nine Muses in Scala Kefalonia Greece.
We have been to many Greek islands but Kefalonia is the best.
The standard of Nine Muses is very high, from the rooms to the food it is excellent.
The staff are friendly and always remember us and make us welcome. The village of Scala has a great selection of tavernas, we would recommend The Galleria just off the main street. The food is excellent and so is the service. Nine Muses also has it's own restaurant which is also very good.
The laid back friendly atmosphere is our idea of heaven. We shall continue to return to Scala and Nine Muses is where we will stay.
Go and see Dino, he has a cafe opposite the square next to the chemist, he will make you very welcome and he makes a lovely cup of coffee!
We can't wait for this years holiday to come.
Well done Scala and Nine Muses.

" I went to the Hotel Muses for the... "

I went to the Hotel Muses for the first time and I have to say it is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays we have had. From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome, Angel who is the manager does a fantastic job and ensures you have the perfect holiday.

The rooms were lovely spotless and fresh flowers were displayed in our room. I felt the standard to be very high sheets and towels were changed regularly and the maids left the rooms beautiful.

The pools were clean and plenty of sun beds for every one, it had this total relaxed feel, the staff are so friendly and the service was the same. The view whilst having breakfast was overlooking the sea and the beach was spotless but I advise you to wear flip flops to walk in the sea very pebbly.

There was waiter service on the beach from our hotel which was excellent. Beware though the sea drops quite rapid. We found all of Scala to be of the highest standard and extremely laid back, the restaurants were stunning, I would recommend Schirocco the Scandanavian Restaurant and top of the list was the Galleria just off the main street in Scala.
On average for a pitcher of wine ,main course plus bread with dips for a starter would cost about 24 to 30 Euro which is excellent value.

Not many shops, just total chill not ideal for children but it was our first holiday on our own and I loved every minute. If you want a good night I think a cocktail in the Captains Bar is fabulous fun I recommend a cocktail called English Man in Scala! You are very merry on just 2.

If you lead a stressful life then Kafelonia is for you, it is a retreat, found this was perfect not hilly and there were allot of areas that catered well for the disabled.

Just 1 word sums up Kafelonia tranquil. Ps the island tour is good too and the beach barbeque.

I hope this is of help when you are unsure where to go but I know where we are going next year!

" The 'Nine Muses' certainly lived up... "

The 'Nine Muses' certainly lived up to it's excellent reputation. From arrival, when luggage was collected and taken to our room, everything was done, by the very friendly staff, to ensure that we enjoyed our holiday. We have stayed in various places in Skala but this was the best. Spotlessly clean, beautiful gardens, two swimming pools which were never crowded, nice bar and very quiet.

Skala, itself, has some very good tavernas and retains it's authentic village atmosphere. The resort seems to attract pleasant people. No gangs of drunken yobs or too many noisy kids. The beach is never crowded, the water clean and warm and no litter. All in all, our very favourite holiday destination and while there is evidence of new hotel development, this seems to being done in a sensible manner.

Our thanks to the staff at 'Nine Muses'. We have already booked to go back there next July.

" The Nine Muses Hotel was spotless as... "

The Nine Muses Hotel was spotless as were the surrounding areas. Gardens were lovely and the pool area spotless as were the 2 pools. Rooms were cleaned every day and the maids did an excellent job. Staff were really friendly.

Breakfast was usual, rolls, cakes, yogurt and honey, selection of cereals and fruit with the usual tea and coffee. Cooked breakfast at an additional cost, not much.

Beach right opposite the beach and 6 euros for our 2 sun beds and umbrella.

Resort was very laid back and friendly people in the tavernas and bars. Food was excellent and a good choice. Didn’t have a bad meal in our fortnight we ate out.

Good selection of trips to do. Not great for shopping, usual touristy stuff but nice shoe shop there for us ladies!

No louts or drunkards, more for couples, families and older people who are looking for a friendly laid back resort.

Would I go back - yes in a few year I would for sure.

" We booked this holiday last minute as... "

We booked this holiday last minute as I had just found out we were expecting our first baby and thought it would be a nice break.

I was a travel agent at the time and saw a late deal for Skala, every body says this hotel is booked up a year in advance but there were plenty of rooms available when we got there.

The weather was lovely in May it went a bit cold at night you may need a light jacket or cardigan.

The hotel itself was very clean and the staff couldn’t do enough for you, carrying your bags etc.

We were b+b and the view from where you sit and eat your breakfast was great overlooking the sea, the breakfast itself was very good.

The town of skala was just enough for us not to busy or to quiet and all the locals were very friendly.

All in all we would go back for another relaxing holiday but maybe when my baby has grown up!!
