fantastic base
stayed at this Disney hotel for two nights in late November. On arrival (about 6pm) lobby was really warm and cosy all decorated for christmas, with the western/cowboy theme even running through into the christmas tree decortations such as corn on the cob! Some people have said that check in at all the Disney resorts can be slow, we found it to be fine no problem at all, however if you arrived at a busy time eg 3pm usual check in time i could see how it would move slow. They have a two step system of filling forms in while in line to try and speed things up so i guess they are aware of it. Our checkin was very very in depth gave us llots of information and went over all our details, which was really nice, think language often slow things down at this point, but not a problem for us everyone we spoke to in and out of parks spoke fantastic english put us to shame, although drop a few bits of french in goes down well. We were slightly worried about this resort as it is one of the two budget resort the santa fe being the other. we went with this one as im a student and dont thave much money and you really dont spend much time in your room at all. Having checked in we walked to our room in the snow! the resort is organised into about 25 block each with 30ish rooms, the blocks form a western themed village with a bar, restaurant, reception and shop (selling disney merchandise and essentials) forming the center area. Our room was in the calamity jane building (24) which is along with 25 is at the far end end the complex although not a big deal unless you have real mobility problems. Think our room had been refurbished recently as no marks on anything which is amazing for a hotel with such a high room turn around. All rooms are the same one set of really strong solid bunk beds, one double bed, phone, tv, ceiling fan, big chest of draws, chair, lots of hanging space and a boot lamp o yes and three mirrors. Rooms follow theme of resort dark wood cosy rustic, had a cuboard which at one time looked like it contained a mini bar but no longer. room size was fine for us two can see how with four may have felt a little small although lots of storage space under beds/draws. Also would think i could get realy warm in summer as ceiling fan did not move much air, no a/c in the budget resorts. Breakfast good lots of space to sit in huge chuck wagon cafe, cerial, bread rolls ham cheese yoghurts pastrys orange juice tea coffee can pay extra for cooked breakfast about 5 euro. Located about 10mins walk into disney village never got the free bus to park as not needed much faster to walk and its a nice stroll along river, bus may be good for tired mums/dads and kids. overall really liked this resort basic in some areas but had everything you need and im sure the great cast members would get you anything else you needed. If you are trying to choose between santa fe and cheyenne i would really suggest cheyenne as the themeing just work s so much better with the french weather the santa fe look really out of place in winter. the landscaping in ment to look like dry arizona/new mexico but in cold wet france it just look bare and drap the buildings also remind me of a 70s prefab hospital, but hey that just my thoughts i bet i look much better in summer and we saw some refurbishment going on so rooms should be good. Few word on parks, great, walts on main street is fab all cast members really helpful christmas is a great time to visit so magical!!!!!! hope this helps - sorry for all the errors its late and i just kinda through this out.
Great hotel
The Disney cheyenne hotel is a great themed hotel. The hotel is themed as a cowboy type western hotel. The rooms are in blocks that look like they should be off a movie. The rooms are comfortable but may feel a little crampet if you had two kids and two adults. The rooms are also themed and are cleaned to a good standard. The breakfast is adequate with cereals and various rolls and pasteries. If you want hot food you do have to pay a little extra. The bus comes every 12 mins to take you from the hotel to the park. It is also close by to walk to. The disney park is good. Lots of character photo opportuties and good family rides. I love thrill rides they only had a few but enjoyed both space mountain and the areosmith rollercoasters. The only disadvantage is that the price of food is expensive. For a nice fast food pizza go to the outpost pizza place in adventure land their good and had a couple of performers while your eating. The hot dog place wasn't so good on main street usa. I would reccomend disney land paris for families because the kids will love it and the parents will love watching them have fun and possibly all enjoy the majic of disney.
Great comfortable base
We arrived back from Disney yesterday, we stayed at the Cheyenne. The rooms were fantastic for a budget hotel, you would think you were in a three star plus, and breakfast was plentiful. TIP: Altho there is a kettle in the room there are no tea facilities for the first night, so take a few teabags of your own for the first nite, buy milk at the onsite shop, then you can get all the teabags you need the next morning at breakfast to take to your room after that. Otherwise you will have to pay 4.80 for teabags from the information desk. Breakfast was plentiful and no limit, and families can fill up their rucksacks with made up rolls for the day. Take a flask too, you can fill up with coffee at breakfast. Don't hesitate to book this hotel - its a great base and its got everything you need!! Would def go back again.
Brilliant fun time in paris
This hotel was great for the money. you only spend time there when your not at the disney parks or doing other things. It was a great size for me and my partner. The room was kept tidy but we did have trouble with our card as it was bit worn but didnt affect us alot. The breakfast was the same every day but you had a wide choice and could have as much as you wanted. there were microwaves around the dining area to warm your food up (not that it needed it). you could have more choice if you wished for breakfast but at extra costs. the staff were brilliant especially in the shop where we bought cowboy hats and the bloke couldnt speak english well but tried so hard and was playing his role as acowboy great. take a hairdryer and kettle and your own teabags as you have to buy teabags and rent kettles and hairdryers which is alot and you only get your money back when you take it back to reception. The hotel was great for money and i would stop here again. you are so close to everything and free buses take you to the park which seems silly because you are a 5 min walk away. it was great if you had loads to carry tho. the first night we were there we had booked a trip to paris to see all the sights. definatly recommended! wow wot a great time, they stopped so you could spend time around the effille tower. brilliant! The parks were so tidy and so much to do. This was a fab holiday and would go again me and my partner miss it!
Cheyenne- what a brilliant hotel
The hotel Cheyenne is one of the best hotels ive stayed in with its lovely food, great cowboy feelings and all the cabins named after cowboys. i really enjoyed myself during my stay and to top it all the staff were very helpful and spoke good english. Disneyland paris was also great with planet hollywood, disney village etc, i went when it was very cold but once you got on the rides, you forgot about the chilliness. One of my favourites things about Disneyland was its great parades and if you dont fancy watching the parades, head for the rides because there will be shorter queues. The rides didn't have that many queues while i was there so that made it even better! I would definately think about coming to Hotel Cheyenne again, as it was fab!!!!
Great Hotel!
We have recently returned from a 4 night stay at the Cheyenne and had a brilliant time! Went with my partner and 2 sons age 1 and 4, my 4 year old has not stopped talking about it and loved the wagon in the restaurant which all the kids play in! Our room was clean and comfortable and at breakfast we chose the early 7-7.30 time and it was very quiet and relaxing. As someone else said already you can fill your plates up with rolls etc and make them for later which is a great help! No one seemed to notice us doing it either but we were quite subtle about it! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!
Great For a Short Break
Family of 2 adults and one 7yr old. We booked a 4day/3nt Eurostar package direct with the Disney Resort to the Hotel Cheyenne. Got our park passes on the train and offloaded our case to the Disney Express bag service at Marne la Vallee. (It was waiting at our hotel for collection later- no problem). Went straight to the park and had a brilliant afternoon on all the rides- no queues. Hotel room: It had a double bed and bunk beds. Was clean, warm and comfortable. Bath and shower with hot water anytime. BEWARE BREAKFAST! Everyone gets an allocated time slot but its always packed out. There's plenty of croissants, rolls, cheese, ham. cereal, juice, yoghurts, tea, coffee, hot choc and milk. Its just the seating thats in short supply. To their credit the watiting staff do a super job of clearing up tables quickly. The hotel is a 10min walk along the river- very pleasant and it saved us queuing up for the bus (after breakfast EVERYONE heads to the bus). Make use of the free safety deposit boxes at reception. Didnt eat dinner at hotel- too noisy/kids running around etc. Ate at: Annettes Diner, Planet Hollywood (nice burgers) Pizza Bella Notte (good but pity it was counter service), Caseys Corner, En Coulisse restaurant. Food is OK and bearable for a couple of days. We had brilliant days at the Park and Studios on Thur and Fri. Saturday was busier but we made use of the Fastpasses. Sunday was a complete waste of time after noon- so busy and queues for everything. We used the Disney bag service at hotel when we checked out and our case was waiting for us at the train station. TIP: We found the book 'A Brits Guide To Disneyland Resort Paris- by Simon Ventness' invaluable. Its got loads of hints/tips/do and donts. And you get 20% discount off food at Planet Hollywood if you show it. We havent been to Florida (yet) so cant compare but we thoroughly enjoyed Paris and we were lucky with the weather. Would go again but go midweek.
A Good Experience of Hotel Cheyenne Easter 2005
I have just returned after 2 nights in the Hotel Cheyenne over the Easter weekend - 26 - 28 March 2005. We had a really good experience there. The rooms were big enough for a family of 4 with decor in a Western theme. I certainly didn't think the room was too small - plenty of storage space. The bathroom was good (bath as well as shower). The bunk beds were very solid with wooden decor, had their own lights and our children (7 and 8) loved them. The room was clean. The exterior of the hotel is just as it appears in the brochure - you feel like you are on a film set for a western. Good landscaping and outdoor play area. The accommodation is 2 storey only and spread out so that there is a spacious feel, not a big block. I would imagine all rooms had a good view due to the imaginative design and layout of the blocks - at angles with open space between them. The breakfast was good and plentiful - croissants, pain au chocolat, fresh bread rolls, cheese, ham, yoghurts, cereals. We filled several rolls with ham and cheese and took them out for our lunch to avoid paying the astronomical prices at Disneyland Paris. I noticed several others piling up their trays with rolls to do the same. Certainly no-one stopped you doing it. Drinks from the machine were good. It got busy, but there was always somewhere to sit. As we arrived late to book in, we had a limited choice of breakfast slots - 7.30am at the latest, which seemed really early, but turned out to be good as we could take our time in eating and arrive at Disneyland Paris early. A pleasant surprise was how close the hotel is to DP - not worth getting the bus as there is a lovely waterside walk, past other hotels and through Disney Village. The walks to and from DP from the hotel were all part of the experience. The only downside to the hotel is slow service at reception and booking in and sometimes at the shop. But the service was pleasant when you finally got it and a map of the hotel is given with guidance on how to find your room (we were really close to facilities). A tip - buy a can of Bud at the shop for 2.20euros to take to your room to avoid paying high prices at the bar. A nice touch was Mickey and Minnie and Goofy visiting at breakfast times and kids could have photos with them in a leisurely manner and ordered queue. When I read other reviews of this hotel, the night before we travelled, I was worried and wondered if I had made a mistake in booking it, but I thought it was a great hotel. Perhaps I have a different perspective - I have experienced much worse facilities in England over the years. Please don't be put off going to the Hotel Cheyenne. We enjoyed it so much we are thinking of returning for longer next year!
Ok for the price...
Stayed at Disney's Hotel Cheyenne in january 05, found it OK but found a few problems. The rooms were suitable for an overnight stay, slightly dirty but clean enough to live in. The shower was fully working and there seemed to be enough hot water for the three of us in the room. Our breakfast slot was for 7:30am, very early for us as we arrived quite late at night and had been travelling all day. A continental breakfast was provided, not the best I have to say. The croissants and pain au chocolat were quite dry and hard to stomach. Everything else seemed to be OK. But i would have rather eaten something else. The reception area was always busy, and it was hard finding the rooms because they are spread out so far from the reception area and no guidance was given to us as to where our room was situated. The hotel had a regular shuttle bus to the parks, but we decided to walk to the parks once or twice as it only took just over 5minutes. The overall stay in the Disney area is quite pricey, dinners would set you back about 15 euros each, so it is expensive for families if you are staying more than one night. I might go back to the Hotel Cheyenne, but i think it would be worth paying that bit extra to stay in one of the more upmarket hotels.
Great stay.
I stayed at this hotel 22 Nov-26 Nov and thought it was a great Hotel. The rooms are quite small but the bunk beds are fine for the kids. The staff were very very friendly and the parks were quite empty so no long lines for rides. I think the staff are not under pressure this time of year, so I think this helps.
