We have just returned from 10 days spent at the Aguamar Apartments. After an initial problem with the electricity tripping off in our room, the very helpful reception staff accomodated us in another apartment. Their service was quick and efficient. The room was clean and as described. We had maid service 5 days a week with towels changed every day and linen once a week.
The main drawback was the frenzy every morining at 10 am when the sunbeds were unlocked. The apartments were mainly occupied by British tourists who seemed to think that if they didn't get their space and sunbed immediately they had missed out. Unfortunately this meant all the sunbeds were put out with only half being occupied. If only people used them when required there would not have been a problem.
The apartments were located a 10 minute walk from the harbour, where there were numerous places to eat. A problem was the continuous stream of sellers, which spoilt a relaxing meal. They would come to your table several times during a meal and they were never discouraged by restaurant owners.
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A SCAM ON PURCHASING ELECTRICAL ITEMS. PERSONALLY KEEP AWAY. YOU AGREE TO BUY A CAMCORDER, PAY, AND THEM GET SHOWN HOW TO USE THE EQUIPMENT. THIS IS THEN NOT AS FIRST SHOWN,IN OUR CASE THE CAMCORDER ONLY PLAYED BLACK & WHITE ON THE T V SCREEN. THEY WILL THEN TRY TO SELL A DIFFERENT BRAND FOR MORE MONEY. DURING A VISIT TO A DIFFERENT SHOP THAT SOLD ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, ANOTHER COUPLE WERE HAVING THE SAME HARD SELL AND INEVITABLE ARGUEMENT.

we have just returned from the best holiday ever!, the aguamar was everything we could of hoped for and more!, the staff were very friendly and the apartments were clean and tidy, the kitchen area is very basic with only 2 hobs and a microwave but we found it cheaper to eat out most of the time anyway so no real issue!, the area is not the most active of areas so if your looking for clubs and bars your prob best looking elsewhere, but if your after a chilled holiday with no stress and plenty of sunshine then this is the place for you! right next to netto's supermarket is a place called leo's bar, try it out as this was by far the cheapest, best beer/food , and most friendly service you will find on the island!!. we look forward to returning in the very near future!

Read the reviews before we went, a real mixed bag. So when reading our review, please bear in mind it is from three 26-34 year olds with no children.
Location fine, not much around in terms of restaraunts/ bars, but the odd few there are are very reasonable price wise and tasty. If you walk into the harbour which does take about 10 mins, there is plenty more choice. A good 30-40 min walk to Las Americas at a leisurely pace. With the walk along the seafront littered with bars and restaraunts.
However hotel 5 mins from taxi rank/ bus stops. Should be anywhere from 4 to 6 euros for a taxi to Las Americas. 1 euro on a bus.
Hotel pool really busy, with not enough loungers, so didn't spend much time there, which is a shame, as it's just not big enough for the number of rooms. Jacuzzi on roof top, for about 4 people so don't expect a spa. Close to Nettos supermarket, which we discovered wasn't that cheap and actually cost just as much if not less to eat meals out, particularly breakfast, which meant we didn't really need the self catering facilities.
The appartment was roomy and clean, but didn't get cleaned as much as stated when we booked our hotel. Prob twice in a week, sheets not changed though. 3 cockroaches in total. No air con so it's very difficult to sleep, so invest in fan from the start.
The thing that surprises me, that no-one else seems to have mentioned is the noise, as it caters for all walks of life, at every minute of the day there is noise, children early in the morning running past/ in the pool or in the play area. Younger people coming back late at night, with the road runing up the side of the hotel also quite busy, so constant traffice noise.
So if your looking for rest and relaxation on holiday, this is not the hotel for you, but as a base and not spending much time there, it's more than adequate.
All rooms are supposed to have a pool view, as all balconies face inwards and it does look a bit ghettoish, however we had a great big tree right infront of us, so coulodn't see a thing.

My partner an di have just returned from the Aguamar after spending 14 gruelling nights in this horrific complex. A word to the wise, if you intend to go self catering dont come to the Aguamar as they have no cooking facilities that work!!! we had just two sinble solid hobs (which did'nt even boil water after 1/2 an hour) and a microwave that was only suitable for keeping bread from going stale. The rooms are hot and claustaphobic as there is no fan or air con we relied on leaving the door and blacony door open in the hope that the room would cool. The whole complex is full of beer fuelled yobs who argue from balcony to balcont about football teams almost coming to blows at one point outside our front door at 3am. The only thing going for the Aguamar is that it is near Los Cristianos and the lifts work! We are used to better quality for our money and do not intent to return to the Aguamar in this lifetime, by the way we were room 405...............You have been warned....................

Really, really cool holiday. Love Los Cristianos as it is not as manic as Las Americas. Hotel OK, not fab but definitely good value for money. Major reason for writing is nightlife. Amazing bar called YELA'S in Funchal, Los Cristianos. Really, really nice bar staff - hello to Sarah, Scarlett and Ruth, Thank you for looking after me!!! Thank you for all day Happy Hour, still got a headache, but recovering slowly. Great to be able to see all the sport, not expecting the F1 or Hatton fight - made my holiday.
See you all really soon!!!

Me and my wife have just returned from tenerife yesterday, were we stayed at the aguamar apartments. The location and the hotel was fantastic. The hotel was very clean and our room was cleaned daily. It took us under 10 minutes to walk to the harbour and beach area. There are a number of bars local with freindly staff and nice cold beer. The staff in the aguamar were very helpful and freindly, its a great hotel for couples and familys.

We returned on 20th November, having enjoyed 2 superb weeks holiday.
We found the apartment satisfactory, the staff very helpful & polite. The facilities were good particularly the rooftop jacuzzi which my wife made good use of.
Local bars & restaurants were good I would recommend the merry monk, smileys & heritage bars the chip restaurant across the road & Tasca el jaleo for good food.
On the downside there was no entertainment in the apartments & the TV programs available were limited (unless you like watching the news).
We would definitely consider going again.

Slightly worried after reading comments about these apartments on other sites but decided to book anyway as got a very good price.
Have stayed in Tenerife many times before with family when I was a child. This was my first holiday abroad with my boyfriend and it was great.
On arrival the apartments looked really nice from outside, no problems in checking in and out apartment was really nice, very clean and everything worked correctly, good sized bathroom and living area.
Nice view from the balcony out on to the pool. The maid service was good, our room was cleaned 5 days out of 7, and sheets changed the same.
We didn't eat in the restaurant as we were self-catering, though it did look nice. It was about a 10 minute walk from the apartments to the beach, though being a young couple this didn't bother us. Shops were just across the road. It was very quiet, this suited us though.
Only faults I could give it were that the hotel staff weren't very talkative but this didn't bother us, also for people wanting something more exciting I wouldn't go here.
The hotel bar was dead at night, but we were only in it once or twice, every other nights we went out for dinner and then drinks and it was nice to come back to a quiet hotel and get a good night’s sleep!
We did spend quite a lot of money in Tenerife but it was really good and I would definitely go back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend these apartments to anyone.

The hotel was clean and the staff polite and very friendly. The food was barely warm and unimaginative and when something ran out it wasn't always replaced. There was no air conditioning and this was a real bug bear even on the cloudy days. Had a couple of great meals in the steak house around the back of the Tenerife Sur Hotel and a lovely breakfast in Porkies alongside that. Recommend a trip to Torviscus and a steak in the Bahamas bar. Wouldn't recommend half board basis on this one - ate out most of the second week.

We had a top floor apartment which had a great view over the pool. No aircon so nights were hot and sticky. Had a couple of cockroaches visit which wasn’t pleasant but no mozzies at all. The maid service was ok with the bedding changed a couple of times over our 10 day stay, but the rubbish built up in our apartment when no cleaning was done for three days!
The pool area was ok, but nothing prepares you for the war of the sunloungers, they are all chained up until 10.00am and when they are unlocked there is a mad bundle with some families taking ten at a time! Be warned you have to be there to get one, turn up at 11.00 and you'll be on the floor.
There is no entertainment so don’t expect any, the jacuzzi was empty and they have painted the side of the main pool to try and tart it up but its flaking and will stick to your feet or clothing!
Meals out were either poor or fantastic. Try the Chill Out bar near the seafront - best steak ever! You’ll get hounded to go in every bar or chinese, which really got on my nerves!
The beach is nice but 10/15 mins to walk each way, think I’ll stick to Ibiza or Portugal!

Before we went we looked at reviews as it was our first time abroad and there was a mixture of reviews but we had a really good time there.
It would be better if you have evening entertainment but you got morning entertainment with people was queueing outside to get the sun loungers - that was funny.
The apartment was good for the price we paid for it and it was always clean. We would definitely come again.

Very nice room's, only one bad thing that our room was one of about 6 in the whole hotel which wasnt overlooking the pool.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, including the cleaners who came to our room everyday except Wednesday.
There were an abundance of Scottish people staying at the hotel and very few English. Also if you wish to reserve sun loungers (Your not supposed to but everyone does) then you need to be down by the pool at about 09:45 otherwise you'll miss out. It is a very nice pool area and bar, good food too.
The only negative was that the pool was too small and was taken over by children playing around.
Overall a very good holiday destination for couples and families. I would definitely go again.

The Hotel is 10 minutes down the road in a taxi from the airport and a wonderful complex. The receptionists are brilliant and very kind with great English. The room was ready straight away and all rooms have a view of the pool. The room was lovely and bright. The only worrying part was that the bedroom had a long low window that needed to be open for air or you can't breathe, but the window was next to the walk ways for others to get to their rooms. It was easy for someone to jump in. In that case we only had it open whilst in that room!!!
The cleaners come everyday except Sundays but the hotel and pool area is cleaned everyday. The whole palce is extremly clean and tidy. There is no need to worry about sunbeds as you can get one at any point of the day. There was no entertainment but not a big problem as there was an irish bar near the beach that held entertainment. (the only one that did - therefore very busy, get there early)
Los Christianos is the perfect place to visit if going as a couple. Not great for children but there are parks to go to near by. The town was lovely and the beach was less than 10minutes to get to. The locals are so welcoming and friendly and get to know your name. Eat at Linares as a treat, a lovely, friendly restaurnat but expensive! At this time of the year, the beach is not busy at all apart from on a Sunday. There are not many shops even in the next town across in the shopping complex but there is a Zara and Lacoste. Los Christianos is perfect if you want a quiet, relaxing and eating out holiday, if you want clubbing you're in the wrong area, you need to go to Las Americas.
Watch out for the scratch card people, they are English fakes and you do not win a prize so DO NOT fall for it like my partner and I. They take you to a luxury holiday site but try to sell you these holidays and you loose a whole day of your holiday.
A brillaint holiday, clean, friendly, great excursions but got a bit tired of the Africans annoying you where ever you go trying to get you to buy things.
You'll love it!

I went on holiday with my friends; we are all over forty so not youngsters. We were put next to very young girls on a birthday party holiday who were very noisy.
Apartment was shabby and the beds and cupboards were covered in tiny black mites.
Cleaners came regularly but not once did they clean the balcony, so there was bird poo everywhere for a week. A couple of my friends had a few personal items taken from the room. We complained to the staff who managed to retrieve a pair of pyjamas saying they had accidentally got into the laundry basket.
Staff were friendly but no atmosphere at this hotel, no entertainment, pool small and surrounding area very dirty but plenty of loungers although not enough space to put them unless you want to get up at 8am every morning. For what we paid around £200 each inc flights no transfers it was about right, but could have been cleaner and too far away from entertainment and beach.
Love Los Cristianos and Tenerife. We go every year and will continue to do so, just not to the Aguamar.

Aguamar apartments are clean & the staff were very helpful & friendly. The apartments are ideally situated & there is a Netto supermarket 5 minutes away.
The beach is only 15 minutes walk & there is a good choice of restaurants if you like Chinese food I recommend the slow boat restaurant on the sea front.
Aguamar apartments offer no form of entertainment but there are enough bars around with entertainment karaoke etc.
There was a lot of Spaniards staying in the apartments, they were very friendly but noisy at night, but over all we had an enjoyable stay.
