Paradise Beach Hotel

We have stayed at the Maenam resort several times and have always had a great experience. My parents also stayed here for two weeks and loved it. The bungalows are very simple, but clean and quiet, and a great price. Maenam beach is not for those looking for wild night life, bars and constant activity. But if you are looking for quiet beaches, few people and a laid back pace, this is the spot for you. It was our first visit to Ko Samui. We had a wonderful suite and the room of our children was also very nice. We especially enjoyed the great food and the wonderful service. The water was clean and we were swimming every day long distances. But there is also a great pool for those who prefer not to swim in the sea. Very ideal is the location if one plays golf. The hotel offers a shuttle to the near by golf course. The golf course is simply incredible. A wonderful view and the course itself is one of the best I ever played.

I really cannot recommend this hotel enough. The setting was beautiful - the gardens were amazing. The staff were friendly and always there to help. The shuttle bus was good as Maenam is very quiet and it was nice to go into Chaweng some evenings. Found a fantastic Thai restaurant but cannot remember the name of it! Stayed there for 2 weeks in february 2005. Location at Chaweng beach is very good, with a perfect beach very close to the bungalows. Excellent smiling staff and a good reception/tourdesk. Restaurant and the bar are nice, and breakfast is very good. We stayed in both "standard" and "superior" bungalows. The "Standard" bungalows clearly need maintenance, we dont liked them too much. But the "Superior" bungalows are in very good shape and conditions, really nice, good standard and a big new bathroom. All in all this is... more

We went in 2003 and have just been again. I was hoping we did not make a mistake as often when going back it is not what it used to be. The hotel is away from all the hustle and bustle and a 5 minute bus ride from Fisherman's Village where there are good restaurants and a couple of pubs. It is about 20 mins from Chaweng which we don't like. The second time (2 yr gap) the hotel was as good as before with many of the same staff still there. They are absolutely lovely. June 2004 - This was our first trip to Thailand and soon as we arrived in Koh Samui airport, which has an amazing resemblence to a beach bar, we knew that this would be a fantastic holiday. The Paradise beach resort is a fabulous out of the way resort about 20 mins outside of Chaweng. This hotel was a great find. Somehow managed to find a brilliant deal on ebookers (£150 for eight nights) in this four star. The usual 'what's the hotel going to be like angst' was exacerbated by the fact that it was so cheap, but when we got there it was just perfect.
