First off the waiters and waitresses and the barmen and barwomen are great they are always happy and will do anything for you,
The food is very good there is something for everybody
The not so great, over a 14 day period we had hot water once the rest it was either tepid or cold, 4 times we had no water at all, the room was not made up 4 times.
The clean towels did not come until 5.00 every day sometimes we only had one towel
The weekends are as mentioned before just like a cattle market, the locals don't seem to have seen food before they just pile their plates as high as possible, eat part of it and leave the rest, they also don't believe in queuing
We had some rain on the last two days the bathroom ceiling started to sag then it leaked steadily onto the floor, other guests were also experiencing similar things
The whole site is in dire need of renovation there are cracks everywhere, in and around the pools, the paths and the buildings, There is paint flaking all around nothing has been spent on it for years
It is a shame really because it could be a marvelous place the setting is wonderful
- Advice: I have travelled to many places around the world, this would rate as below par

I went to the dominican with my mum and dad and i loved it for the first week. After the first week a few of my friends i met their had their room broken into, wich they taken everythink from them. The next night i was out in the italian restraunt with some other of my friends, after that we went to our hotel room and noticed our room had been tryed and all our door was scuffd. The entertainment at night was ok not the best of all, They started at 10pm by thenmost of visitors had gone to bed as it was to late. Other than that the hotel was lovely the staff was very kind and all the activities in the day was awsome. Good holiday to choose if your looking for a relaxing holiday.
- Advice: Very good. Locals seem desterbing but they are all very friendly.

We would recommend this resort if you are looking for a relaxing holiday otherwise it is toooo far away from any major city to visit & very costly to get to any major city.
The food selection was awesome in the buffet & there is only 1 alacarte restaurant for which our meals in it were awesome! The downfalls are that you need to take your own facecloths as they don't have any such thing. You need to take your own hairdryer & the pillows are like sleeping on rocks. As for going back we would most definitely go back for the sun, beach & relaxation!

Apart from the useless rep "Tom" we had, the holiday was fantastic and I'd go back tommorrow. I spent the majority of my time by the activity pool with the Animation team that were fantastic and did all sorts of activities varying from "sex on legs" and boccia. They kept you well entertained and included you on everything. The shows at night varied, but they were all still very good. The disco is worth going to if your a raver! like myself and play spanish and english music, the best times to go to the disco are when the dominicans come to stay at the weekends.
The food was great with lots of choice and there was something for everyone! The pools and rooms are generally always clean, and there were never any problems with the pools. The room I stayed in got flooded but we were removed from there immediately and changed block. The people that work there make you feel really welcome, and coming back to England has made me realise how good it was.
I miss the animation team including; Jory, Felix, Mario, Blondie! and my holiday lover Felix<3

Me and my friend loved this holiday
it was an 18th birthday prezzie to myself and i couldnt ask for more.
i dont think i could complain about anything.
all the people that are complaining about the food ... clearly they do not know hat they are talking about.
every night the buffet is different. there is more than enough choise there. But if you feel the need you can vist one of the resturants.
we stayed for 2 weeks and there were only 2 power cuts while we were there. nothing major as they only lasted a matter of minuets.
I will be going back next year and i can not wait.
this place is fantasic.
just to help here are some helpful tips
=]
1) go easy on the pina coladas, the coconut milk is a natural laxitive.
2) Ladies, dont go topless by the pool areas, other guests tend to stare at you and become very rude.
3) an american plug adaptor works here. the sockets are a funny shape but the adaptor does work. Dont buy one from the shops.
4) be friendly to the staff. they are no harm what-so-ever.
5) Use a few spanish words, it helps.
6) do take full advantage of the AI drinks/food. the drinks are served in a NORMAL size cup. if you want more go and get more. dont complain that the glasses are too small.
7) limit sun exposure... i was burnt on my shoulders using factor 50. (2nd week i used tanning oil and didnt burn once) (Y)
8) Do talk to the reps, they are a laugh.
9) If you want to phone home, use a talk card.. its 20 dollars .. It will last for about 3 hours if you ring a LANDLINE number HOWEVER if you ring a MOBILE number it will last for maybe an hour at the most.
10) book this hotel and enjoy. its a beautiful place and i really cant wait to go back.

This was the worst holiday ever. we are a couple ages 25 and 26. the food was rank.. the entertainment was poor, they serve you drinks in vending machine cups, and the waiters were sleaze bags. never go anywhere near the place again. telephone calls rediculous priced. The activities are shocking, they double book people regular, the horse's are dangerous and bite!
They open up the hotel to locals on the weekend and charge $30 inclusive of food and 2 nights accomodation and alcohol.. work it out...

We flew with Thomas Cook on 29th August 2008 from Manchester to Puerto Plata, then a bus transfer (tip the bloke who puts your case in the bus $2) to Luperon where we stayed all inclusive at the Luperon Beech Apartments.
Here you would be expected to tip the driver($2) for negotiating the most collection of nutters on the road we had ever seen over the past hour and a half, and also tip the bloke ($2) who moved your case from the bus to the hotel entrance, about 3 feet.
At check-in you will be given a room key and also have to pay for a room safe key (recommended) for all your valuables, passport rings etc...
A porter will load your cases onto a sack barrow and take you and your cases to your room where you would be expected to tip him.
The room was basic but clean and tidy, two double beds, bedside tables, dressing table and a TV.
The maid comes in every day to make the bed and tidy up and mop the floor, we left her 2-3 dollars on the bed every day which they really appreciate, when we left we gave her $10.
The bathroom was clean and everything worked, but the bath took a lifetime to empty as I think the u bend was probably blocked with sand, then the shower hose split, we informed the reception twice to get it fixed each time saying they were sending someone straight away but no one arrived, we contacted the Thomas Cook rep who had it sorted within the hour so any problems go to the rep.
All the accommodation is in blocks with a big number over the entrance so you can’t miss it, we were in block 16 on the south side of the complex which we decided was the best block to be in if you wanted a peaceful holiday, as you went further north the bars had a bit more going on with loud music and the nutty animation crew.
The beech was about 20 meters from our door along with a very large swimming pool and two bars and the snack bars.
The beech at first looked a bit scruffy but this was due to the palm trees and some other trees that had bunches of what looked liked hard green grapes hanging from them but they were not grapes, they fell onto the sand then turned black and there were thousands of them.
There is a small section of the water that you are advised to swim in which is marked by a line of floating buoys, if you swim outside this area you may encounter rocks and spiky sea urchins so be careful.
The rest of the beech is about 300 meters in length with outcrops of smooth rocks and white coral.
The beech has plenty of sun beds and sunshades, we had no problem getting shade at all and there were always plenty of beds.
Along the side of the beech is path that runs from one end of the complex to the other with paths running off to all the blocks, but unfortunately along the path are wooden hut things full of tat being sold by the cheapy cheapy men who constantly pester you to buy the stuff at an extortionate rate. If you do want to buy anything knock them down to at least a third of what they originally asked for, if they won’t come down walk away and they will soon change their mind and ask if you are from the Mafia (joking) then they will give you your quality goods in a Tesco carrier bag? Don’t know how they get them.
The restaurant is at the top side of the complex, quite large with plenty of tables with a buffet style scope out whatever you want from the heated trays, and there was usually a couple of chiefs also cooking specials to order.
There was also plenty of salad and puddings but unfortunately they were all open and the flies always beat you to it so that was a bit off putting.
On the whole i thought the food was pretty good but they did seem to have a problem cooking stakes, pork as they were always a bit tuff and chewy but maybe that’s the way they like it.
There are a few odd things like hot mashed banana and fried aubergines but this was not England so be prepared you won’t get roast beef and Yorkshire puddings.
The waiters will serve you drinks (looking for a tip) or you can help yourself.
When you leave the restaurant after breakfast you will be accosted by men in white T Shirts with Luperon Beech in gold on the front, they will start out with saying something like “Hello nice family, where are you from, who did you get your holiday with, how would you like to come again half price” Hey sounds good! STOP they are time share sellers for the complex but they call it VIP.
Some of them try and play on your good nature by saying “if i don’t get anyone to come by boss will sack me, and i have a family to feed bla bla bla, its all tosh. You will have to be firm and say no thanks and keep walking, don’t stop unless you want a time share, or are prepared to waste an hour and a half of your life.
There is entertainment on during the day and evening run by the animation team who are all very enthusiastic but very amateurish when they start singing and dancing, it reminded me straight away of the first few weeks of the X Factor when all the bad ones are on, but i give them top marks for effort especially Felix with the funny hair who is may have escaped from the local loony bin, find him and say ”Don’t worry my friend nothing is coming” he will know what you mean, and who told you.
The drinks seemed pretty good with a cocktail list of about 30 different ones even though about half always seemed to look and taste like tequila sunrise?
The beer (larger) and everything else is served in small plastic cups of about 2 good mouth full’s, so what allot of people do (we did) is buy a thermal mug from the shop at a cost of about £5 and get your drinks in them and as they have a lid it stops unwanted flying things getting in, if you have them already find a space in your case and take them.
As for flying things, mosquitoes and midges are in abundance along with their hunger for human blood, we slapped on the repellent but these things seem to have been weaned on it as it did not seem to scare them off.
I don’t usually get touched by the things at all but they got me the first night round my ankles, so after that i wore socks and plastered myself with as much repellent as i could.
We took the plug in mozzy killers for the room but they seemed to be immune to them as well, so we would wake up the next morning with a few extra lumps and bumps.
We took some Piriton tablets which seemed to help with reducing the reaction mainly itching and swelling of the bites so that would be recommended.
Security seems pretty good with guards with big sticks around all day and night watching who is going in and out of the accommodation blocks, there are also some guards with guns but that is quite normal for the country.
We felt safe all the time and had no problems with the locals.
On a Friday afternoon there seemed to be an influx of locals who got a bit noisy over the weekend in the pools but nothing drastic.
The evenings after around 19.00 get very humid and sticky so leave the aircon on all the time in the room and the doors shut.
Te complex staff are busy all the time cleaning and maintaining the stunning gardens with ponds stocked with fish and Pink Flamingos, and the numerous Peacocks which will eat from your hand.
Points to note:
1. The currency is Dominican Pecos but they like US Dollars, if you take travellers cheques you will get Pecos not Dollars when you cash them.
2. Take as many low denomination notes as you can for tips.
3. If you buy anything you may get your change in goods i.e. sweets not money.
4. The voltage is 110volts so check anything electrical you may be taking, phone chargers, portable DVD players etc...
5. No hair dryers in the rooms but you can hire one for 24 hours, take a travel one if you have one, or go bald like me.
6. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room which we missed first thing, if we had realised this we would have taken a travel kettle.
7. Take a thermal mug with lid about £2 here for your drinks, keeps the flies out and keeps the drink cold.
8. The sun is very strong so we started with factor 50 cream and did not go lower than factor 30 and we came home with a good tan.
9. Antihistamine tablets, Piriton etc.
10. Take a torch as power cuts are the norm.
11. You will need $10 to get in to the country along with an entry slip to fill in which your cabin crew should give you on the plane, and $20 to get out so have that separate and don’t spend it, and a slip to say your leaving which your rep should give you along with a customs slip for things you may be taking out of the country.
12. I recommend using the VIP lounge at the airport for $25 each which you get sandwiches and crisps four alcoholic drinks, and as much soft drinks as you want. The lounge has comfy chairs and is air-conditioned. This can be pre-booked with your rep.
13. Flight around 10 hours there and 7 back to Manchester.
In summary we totally enjoyed the holiday complete with Hurricane Hanna and Ike who called past on its way to Cuba.
We are thinking of going the same time next year as the place was less than a ¼ full after the summer holidays in the UK.
We thought it was a great place and good value.
We booked on line with Thomas Cook and saved £680 for four adults with two rooms.
If i can help anymore please contact me.

This resort has beautiful grounds, but thats about it.
I guess I will start off with the rooms. My girlfriend and I upgraded our room when we booked to get a partial ocean view...which was actually worth the extra 40 bucks. Our room however had leaks in the bathroom, one leak right above the toilet. the washroom also had these big brown circles on the mirror... you guess is as good as mine as to what caused this. Our sheets got changed every Other day and our towels got picked up at 9 am and were not returned until 4 -5 in the afternoon/evening everyday. The floors leading up to the buildings we were housed in were tiled. This made for a very slipery walk to or from your room if there was any rain at all. The showers had little or no pressure...we got lucky and had hot water, the 6 out of 8 of the other people we travelled with didnt have hot water and their complaints went unheard. Our A/C broke twice and our phone didnt work ever...but you get the idea.
The resort... The advertised 24hr snack bar. This was an out right lie. They didnt feel like it when we were there so the just didnt do it. They advertised hot tubs...they were unheated kiddy pools. The tiles around all the pools were crumbling and this made the resort look cheap. a couple of the table umbrellas around the pool were missing their canvas as well. All the furniture is made of cheap plastic as well, we watched some poor kid fall through his chair while we were drinking beside the pool.
The wait staff...they did an awesome job in the restaurants. But they had exactly no wait staff serving drinks anywhere else in the resort. When you got a drink from the bar, it was served into a cup that holds exactly half a pop can worth of liquid. So we were constantly up and down just for drinks. We got wise and began ordering 4 at a time though, dont worry.
Food and drink... The food was horrible. They served the same crap everyday, at first it was fine, but you can only eat so much garbage before it wears on you. by the last day I was only eating french toast for breakfast. Some of the food was good, but they only served the good stuff once. The alcohol was watered down. word on the resort was that if you wanted real booze mixed into your drink, you would have to ask for it. otherwise you were getting the weak liquor. The beer was ok, but they didnt have any from the tap...it was all bottled, at least from the pool bar anyway.
They only have one restaurant that changes themes everyday so dont be fooled by the 4 different restaurants line.
The disco smelled like vomit and had horrible lighting. They had a strobe light going... seriously? a strobe light? anyway horrible resort, but has pootential if they plug some cash into the holes.
I have stayed at hostels all over Europe and Asia as well as having been to several resorts and they have all had better washrooms :) I only write this review to warn you against going here, sure its cheap but my advice is spend the extra 150 and go to a different resort. Cheap is good sometimes, but not in this case.
Cheers
