I cant believe that I am reading bad reviews of Club Salina Wharf. I have just got back today from A week in Malta staying at Club Salina. I found the place very refreshing. The reception area on arival was very inviting, and the receptionist very helpful. Our room was very nice with everything you need. The outdoor pools and the surrounding area are great, the water clean and fresh (a joy to swim in)!! with plenty of sun loungers and space for all to enjoy without feeling cramped together. The indoor pool is just as nice (should you need it?). The top and bottom of it is simple, it is a lovely place to spend your holiday, whether you are a couple young, old, or a family. The whole place is kept spotless, the staff work their socks. I did not meet one person this week who had a bad word to say about their stay. The only reason Club Salina Wharf does not get a 10/10 is due to the bar/restaurant food lacking quality. (eat out!).
- Advice: If you like your food use the many lovely restaurants surrounding salina Wharf.

Having just returned from Salina Wharf my advice is ..... Before you book check that the outside pool can be used . At the moment it is empty undergoing repairs and has been for some time. We were told that we should have checked that it would be available. The indoor pool is small and nice but indoors ! The sea is close but not easy to access especially if you have children as clambering over sharp rocks is not advised. There is a lido nearby but would be approx 7 euros per person each day.
We were there on a promotional week so had a smart sea facing room, adequate. My sister there on a RCI swap had a very poor room, . She was moved to a better one after 2 days but this one had a toilet which didn't flush and was unable to be fixed while we were there as no spare parts.
Wifi and computer use is charged for at expensive rates.
It is not a resort for you if you like peace and quiet, the prom and sea views are attractive just don't look at the views behind you ...it could be Blackpool !
Local bus services are very good but prices are due to treble next month so won't be quite so cheap.
If you need a private Taxi for airport transfer etc we would recommend Tanya on 0035699271223, a family run service which is very efficient and far cheaper than booking via reception.
- Advice: Check before you go if building or repair work is in progress on site.

Me (22 at the time) and my mum stayed in Salina Wharf Qawra Malta in June 2010 for a week. First of all, the staff were very helpful beforehand with my mother as she was originally going to go with my stepdad who is from Malta, but he unfortunately passed away before the holiday. The hotel was fantastic in aiding my mother change the names. The aparthotel was superb and very classy, i can not tell you how beautiful and clean it is. On arrival, we were greeted by the man on reception who shook my mothers hand and gave his condolences. Then a charming gentle giant named David picked up our stuff and escorted us to our room. I couldn't believe how lovely it was. Pool area was claen and peaceful, and the reception area is magnificent. Entertainment wise, for my mum, the hotel and surrounding area were brilliant but for me a bit boring lol but going on holiday with the mother i wasn't expecting a wild one. It was a lovely relaxing holiday, just what i needed. Me and mum didn't eat at the hotel as there are many fantastic restaurants around. Quite a bus ride away from the main beach but if you're like me and in love with the charming rickety buses then this was a plus. All in all, a brilliant holiday. Alot to explore and if you like walking this is a plus. I would suggest this for older couples and groups of friends and also families as they would thoroughly enjoy it, for the younger party people not so much. This year i am going on a wild one with my frends but next year me and my sister our taking our children.
Definitely 20 out of 10, the staff our lovely and chatty, very attentive and polite. My mum broke the toilet seat (don't ask) and it was repaired in minutes.
I have absolutely no complaints. It was the best holiday i've ever been on

Just returned from Qwara Point which is situated in a great spot for all the bars and lovely restaurants. The apartment itself is very big and clean but as the TV is in the large sitting room/kitchen there should be some sort of sofa to sit on so you can watch in comfort. There were also no utensils and I presumed you have to ask at reception for all these as I did see a woman going up in the list with 4 of everything!!!!!! To be honest I did not want to cook on holiday any way. We stayed on bed and breakfast, breakfast was fine although the bacon is not the same as here, only real complaint is that is served from 7.00 to 9.00 which as you are on holiday is a bit too early could do with being until 10.00 at least. Qwara Point is supposed to be 40 metres away from the Bella Vista Hotel at which you can use the facilities, well forget that as it is about a 20 minute hike so much so that a bus takes people there for dinner at night at 7.00!!!! We didn't bother with the hotel at all. The beach is only a couple of minutes down the hill - well rocks - but the sea was lovely and warm and cooled you down lovely. The Cafe Royal does lovely lunches - attached to the Qwara Palace Hotel on the front. Apartments were classed at 4 star but more like 3 - but they were perfectly adequate and very modern except not much privacy on your balcony. Be warned there are only 2 splash pools - can just about swim round it!!!!!! Best for couples without children. Enjoyed Qwara and would go again - lots of shops, bars and restaurants and plenty of buses to get around to other places. Beware of time share reps - stay away from them.

The wife and I go to Malta Salina Wharf every year sometime twice a year. As I have read in reveiws the reps at Salina Wharf are very misleading and hold you to ransom to try to make you upgrade or buy extra weeks before you can book or purchase a bonus week. This makes it hard to plan next years holiday. Any promises a rep make must be in writing, as after payment they have a memory lap.
That is the down side. The upside is the complex is very well run the staff are helpful and polite. One can not fault the cleaneness. The apartment are cleaned 6 days a week. Salina Wharf is well placed for shops taxis buses bars and beach. The food and drink at Salina Wharf is more expensive than the bars outside but a good service and good food can be had at Salina Wharf. I think the moral of the story is forget the reps and enjoy your holiday.

There was a problem with the size of accommodation booked. Debbie did the best she could but we were in the wrong size apartment for the first week. We were upgraded yo a superior apartment for the second week. We found the complex clean, tidy, quiet and totally relaxing. Plenty of sun beds and plenty of really pleasant Guest & Staff.I had an accident the day before I was due to fly home and ended up in hospital for 4 days. My friends had to fly home, so I was on my own. Gillian and mostly Debbie were great. Gillian made a documentation of the problem. When I was discharged from hospital Salina Wharf sent a taxi for me to the hospital, gave me a room to have a sleep, freshen up and get changed in. Debbie also book me a flight home on the Internet. Got me coffee and offered food. They then booked me a taxi to take me to the airport. All I can say is 20 out of 10 for Service, Kindness &^ consideration. Beyond the call. I have told Debbie she has restored my faith in human nature. I would recommend anyone to go to Salina Wharf.

Do not expect any privacy at Club Salina Wharf. There is no sound insulation between the apartments. We were woken one morning thinking there was someone in our kitchen doing their washing up - it was next door. The dishcloths are pieces of old towel ripped into squares & not even hemmed. Do not try the barbeque - undercooked food, tired salad and indifferent staff. We will never go again. Be careful about parking, we were given a ticket opposite the resort.

Peoples perspective on a holiday seem to differ in all aspects and the reviews will have to be read according to this , some people come from a bedsit, empty old houses, block of flats or posh houses, some live by themselves and some are large family members , some save all year and others have the money, others work and some dont, some pay a lot and others dont so i believe reviews have to be read in conjunction with this in mind. ( a single poor person in a block of flats looking at four walls etc )
We stayed at the club salina wharf in January 2009, this was a very wet month and it rained half of our holiday. Despite this we were able to ensure we still had a compact holiday.
The hotel is RCI affiliated we were able to purchase weeks at the resort and upgrade our current status by a well presented knowledgable member of staff.
The rooms come well furnished with Satelite TVs, phones, cookers, fridge, microwaves, and well equipt bathrooms. Cleaning is done on a rotor basis by the maid and the rooms are very spacious depending on what area of the hotel you stay.
The complex has facilities for long stay winter breaks, on our visit we met couples who were staying at the resort from Nov to march so their presence for this long period is testimonial recommendation in itself .
The local bus stop to the main areas of the island is about 10 minutes slow walk. The sea is about 5 minutes walk away. The area is locally central to many bars and short walking distances to other hotels and clubs.
The club is in the process of being upgraded with plans to expand its facilities. There is no computer wifi however computers are available in the reception should the need be to send and receive mail etc.
The club has a indoor bar come restaurant which serves well presented food, snacks and meals at very reasonable prices.
We have found some members criticise some of the facilities and complaining all the time about rooms etc and we had our moans as well but the issues were addressed, maybe had others taken the time to present their views to the staff then their matters may well of been addressed also instead of complaining to other members.
Some facilities like outside swimming pool were closed due to the season and for cleaning.
HOT WATER , yes well it would of been nice if we had it all the time but we didnt, most rooms never had problems but we did, we complained and were advised they were aware of the problem, unusually enough the problem was soon resolved but it still came and went during our visit but this was probably because it was new accomodation.
The entertainment was limited during our visit but may of been due to us arriving out of season but what was on was found to be exciting. The old buses are a great experience and remind me of boneshakers. Valletta being the main capital can be accessed by ferry from sliema or bus and is full of an assortment of shops. Bus fares are cheap and rang from a £1 per person to the farthest point on the island, local journeys are about 50p. Day and week tickets are available from bus stations. Beaches are few and far between, the less commercialised one we use is called armier bay, well worth a visit, it is small and isolated, just what you need in busy summer months when there is actually a bus to the beach from Bugibba
Would we stay there again, well the answer is yes. we found the staff all very helpfull and can clearly see why people stay a long time, although our visit was brief compared with others we felt that we could easily of stayed longer.
We are well travelled and can rate this place high in our ratings and would recommend it.

Visited Club Salina 1/11/2011 first time since being pressured to sign up on the Silver two years ago. Had to cancel through illness last year but still being pressurised by "Gary" the rep for two years maintenance and to sign for further group weeks.Refused point blank he then became very rude and unhelpfull. Only used the restaurant once that was the day we arrived. The food had been pre cooked and was almost cold when served. Found a few good eating places within walking distance. Apartment was reasonable clean but do check the inventory. Supposed to be 6 of everything found 4 and 5 this was cutlery. No drawer space anywhere although two side rooms with a clothes rail. Broken tiles in the kitchen and the smell when we cooked wouldnt go away the extractor fan was not suitable. Plus I could hardly reach the cupboards everything was far too high up on the wall.Certainly nothing like the apartment we were shown when we signed on the dotted line. Not a 4* place. We went into the bar area once but the smell was overpowering coming from the kitchen. The outside area was spotlessly clean as was the pool area but didnt use it prefered to go down to the sea shore. Hardly saw any staff apart from the cleaners who in my opinion deserve all the praise for keeping the place so clean.
