Bahia Principe Costa Adeje Hotel Reviews
" Best Holiday Ever "
Submitted By: ifu05333We are a young couple and we came home from his Hotel on Friday and it really was the best holiday we have ever been on. Hotel was lovely and very clean, same for pool areas. We are very fussy eaters and we managed to be spoilt for choice for dinner each night. Food selection is briliant, everything you could imagine and the 24 hours snacks are a great bonus!
There is a bus to take you into the main part of costa adeje (where we went last year) but you can get a taxi for approx 11e.
Only thing is the main night time entertainment is in the 'square' and the bar is downstairs from main reception which means you have to walk a little bit to get your drink to take over to the entertainment, but it is unfair to call this a downfall as it is probably just us being too lazy! We were happy to stay in the lobby/bar area each night as there is alo a live band on every night.
I have read numerous comments on other similar sites complaining about its location - for us this was the best bit! Also any brochure will tell you that it is away from the main part of costa adeje and is ideal for a relaxing holiday with busier parts being a short taxi drive away.
We are returning at the end of this year.
" Welcome to 'Hotel Balamory' "
Submitted By: BrymoFrom the very start it was a total difference from any other All Inclusive holiday we had been on before.
It made a change having the bags and cases taken up to the room for you at the start of the holiday, and then taken back down to reception at the end of the holiday.
We had a great week, the food was excelent and the drink was good.
There is an air of relaxation arround the place, from first thing in the morning till last thing at night.
When you go down to the bottom pool and watch sunset across the infinity pool......................Heaven!!
All the building are like the ones on Balamory, all different colours.
The one thing I would say is that this is not a place for teenagers, it;s a bit isolated, no clubs etc.
Also if you make a booking make sure you book into the 'Costa Adeje' which is a lot better than the 'Tenerife' which is further up the hill and does not have the infinity pool.
There is some shops about a half hour pleasent walk away. (I found a shop that sold "The Famous Grouse" for 8.5euro, and in plastic bottles for ease of packing)
My wife did get food poison from the fish resteraunt (from the prawns we think) and ended up spending two days in hospital. But appart from this we would go back tomorrow.
The best advise I could give is book up and enjoy, If it's a quiet relaxing holiday you want, this is it.
Advice: Book...........Go........Relax.............Enjoy..............Go Home............Re Book

" Good Holiday but not great "
Submitted By: scomanOn arrival reception were good and efficient no problems as we were arrived early - we were asked to use the snack bars and drinks whilst waiting for rooms.
we had junior suites - these were not actually suites just larger rooms - but were fine clean (well appointed) and as everyone else says comfortable - mini bar - topped up daily etc and a safe(costs extra).
Pool and all public areas were like the rest of the hotel spotlessly clean.
but the sunbeds are just plastic with no foam covers.
and yes the tiles in pool area are slippery in places
Loaction was OK but not great out on a bit of a limb and a heavliy sloping site, Although lifts were readily availible for most areas. This was important to us as my partner has slightly limited mobility.
Taxis were relativly expensive as although the walking / direct distance from local towns was not far the road distance was about 15 mins. and costs about £15 each way.
Food - snack bars OK but limited ( taosted sandwich excellent )
Main buffet restruants were good but choice was very much limited and little or no spanish influence - Chips allways there sometime a token spanish option
Theme restruants - Italian can only be described as disgusting - would make any Italian cry. Mexican Good, fish restruant very good.
Staff were helpfull and polite but dont expect to see any assistance in pool area with moving parasols etc.
Would I go again - no pleny of better places to choose from
WAs it a good Holiday - yes excellent there was nothing wrong every thing you wanted - but it just lacked any of the wow factor of last years holiday (Sharm egypt)

Submitted By: Ms A GoindiAlso, we would very much appreciate advice on:
- if anyone has been transferred from one Bahia resort to their sister hotel nearby? If yes, please let us know what your experience was like.
- how does the system work with eating at the different restaurants?
- do they have music that adults or kids can bop to in the evenings?
- anyone know how the rooms are equiped when sleeping 3 people in a room, do they simply provide a single bed in a double room or is it a proper room for 3 people?
- we have heard the area near the pool is slippery, can normal swim shoes suffice here?
- any advice on the local beach would be greatly appreciated too
Many thanks in advance
Angie

Submitted By: Mr A BENNIEThe food was excellent and you would be struggling to find something not to like. The other restaurants in the package were really good and does make a change from the buffet, but as I said, could eat their each night with no problem.
Rooms really good, reception in check in days the slowest I have ever met, but staff very friendly and did explain the all inclusive basis very well. We had a Jnr site, fridge filled every day and maid was excellent as were all the staff.
I have been to the Caribbean on all-inclusive and have to say this matched it.
If you have difficulty with steps, hills ect not the best placed hotel for walking.
Overhaul a really good stay and will be back again, have not said that about to many hotels that I have stayed at.

Submitted By: Mr D C JacobsWe were directed to our room and WOW!!!.....the holiday began here. What a fantastic place.
The hotel was not your usual tower block but consisted of numerous buildings built to the Catalonian style, all very colourful. Our room had air conditioning, phone, TV and fridge( which was topped on regularly) . There was a balcony that overlooked the pool area and across the bay we could see Las Americas.
The hotel is purely all inclusive and it seemed strange at first not having to pay for anything.
Food was marvellous and plentiful, and drinks flowed like water.
The gardens around the pool areas are wonderful with a fountain, stream and waterfall.
All the staff (including the gardeners, maintenance team and chamber maids) are very
cheerful and always very helpful.
I could waffle on about this fantastic hotel for hours.
The Hotel is a bit out on a limb but there is a bus service run by the hotel to Las Americas......anyhow who wants to leave this Hotel.
I have been to no end of hotels in my life but this was by far the best..... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED... go see for yourself.
Thanks to all the Hotel staff.

Submitted By: Mrs L.T TERRIEThe all inclusive deal was fantastic ! The kids could go up by the bar and help them selfs to Slush puppys and lots. The only thing i didnt really like was the fact that most of the pool snacks were chicken nuggets and chips and jamaican chicken and CHIPS.
The weather wasnt atall very hot. It was just very warm witha breeze. The little ''private'' beach is tiny and deserted, with 2 sunbeds. Dont bother.
The food was excellent though, but the wine was not very nice.
The sunbeds were hard to get im afraid its a case of waking at 5 to get one ! You have to sneak though as there is a guard making sure you dont reserve them.
Location was bad but the hotel was clean and very spacious.
Might return.Like another viewer put. Very groundhog day.

The Pro's
The weather.
The hotel is clean and the gardens are immaculate, the rooms are adequate and the heated pool is a god send, although my 12 year old son preferred the un-heated pool as it was far less crowded.
The Con's
The location is too remote, 30 euros for a return taxi to Las Americas is too expensive to keep doing and there is nothing to do elsewhere locally so you are hotel bound here.
The buffet restaurant serves the same selection of dull and boring food every day - the food was never hot and after a while this got on my nerves.
The A la Carte restaurants are fine - if you can make a reservation, bear with me here and I'll explain.
There are 5 A la Carte restaurants, Italian, Spanish, Fish, Asian and Mexican. You have 3 bookings within the all inclusive package.
If you are staying in the Adeje part of the complex you have the first 3 on site and if you are staying at the Tenerife part of the complex you have the last 2 on site.
Whichever complex you are at - you have priority and forward booking capability, you are only able to book off site restaurants on the day you wish to eat as you cannot make forward reservations for these, stay with me here as I have to make my point, we were staying in the Adeje and wanted to book for the Asian and Mexican - you have to queue at Guest Relations from 10.15am for a 10.30am opening - the queue becomes very long I can tell you - when you get to the desk - the off-site restaurants are full!!!! we tried this 4 out of the 7 days - you are then told that you can forward book the on-site restaurants and come back on the day at 4pm to swop if there is availability - but there is not going to be any availibility if the other hotel gets priority and is full on the day anyway - do you get my point??? We were unable to eat at either of the Asian or Mexican which was a disappointment to us. We ate at the Italian twice and the Spanish once, they were ok - much better than the "cafeteria" buffet at least.
Quite simply - change the booking to an on the day - first come first served basis and at least everyone would stand a chance at eating something different.
The entertainment is very average and very typical for this type of hotel.
This is a one time visit for us I'm afraid and as we have stayed at hotels like the Bahia Princess/Tenerife Princess/Guayarmina Princess (although not all-inclusive) we were not really impressed by the facilities here.
I also hated being "banded" the minute we walked in the place - mine came off the minute I got to the room and guess what - no-one challenged me as to why I wasn't wearing it either............
So in summary - average hotel with average facilities and average food - definitely not a 10 for us - from reading other reviews I think the scores depend very much on what you are used to and what you have to compare it with.
This has now compounded my opinion that all-inclusive packages are compromised by quantity over quality, they are ususally hotels in the middle of nowhere so you are trapped.
Very ground hog day!

Advice: Very quiet - nothing to do
Activities: Hotel (all inclusive)
