We are going back to this hotel for the 3rd time!!!! Hotel staff friendly, but cannot expect them to be with people that are don't say please & thankyou to them!!!!
Always stayed all inclusive, food good. Rooms clean.
Looking forward to returning in November. Fab area.

we have just come back from this hole of a hotel, if you can change your holiday and go elsewhere, the hotel rooms filthy, staff all but three on the bar nasty peices of work, they ignore children,anyone under twenty one drink only, your all inclusive expires 12 noon day... more

Great Place from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Columbus 25th January to 8th February 2005 for the second time, The first time was in summer so we thought we would try the winter and we dont regret it one bit, We had a brilliant time, The hotel was great all round, The maids cleaned the room 5 days a week and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the bar staff were fantastic. We spent most days on the rooftop sun terrace (6th floor of block 2) Its a must and a great sun trap. The pool is one of the best in the area but cold in the early months of the year. The Chineese Resterant on site gives good value for money and will even deliver a takeaway to your room. If you eat out try the Wigan Pier, The best food in Tenerife, English owned and all English staff, Its a must. We will be back at the Columbus later in the year we enjoyed it so much.

We have been going to this hotel for the past 8 years. Sonetimes 2 & 3 times. Always found the staff very frendly & helpfull. The hotel is very clean & the entertainment is very good. We have been in other hotels since 1998 but we think this is the best.

Went to Columbus on the 12.09.04 for 3 weeks after been ther before back in 2002 and i must say it's just got BETTER the staff are the same really polite and most of them recognised us and were generally pleased to see there customers having a real good time. Rooms were spotless adn were cleaned every day without fail by the maids what the best thing was too is if you wanted the maid to come at a certain time you cant ask for this at reception and they arranged it. The food is good but could be better we went half board and mainly ate breakfast in the hotel and it was good one thing i will say is they seem to make better English Breakfasts at the columbus than most Cafes do back home. Other than that we ate lunch and evening meals at one of the many affordable restaurants down on the front. The hotel is simply 2-3 minuites walk to the sea and clubs bars etc but you can't hear the noise late at night the hotel seems to be in a perfect location. I WOULD SAY THIS IS IDEAL FOR FAMILY ESPECIALLY WITH YOUNG CHILDREN... Hotel Columbus SEE YA NXT YR.

Myself and my husband went to the columbus aparthotel on the 29th october 2004 till 5th november for my husbands 40th birthday. The rooms were very clean, the maids came in every day to clean the rooms they gave us clean towls every day made the beds cleaned the floors the were brilliant couldn't fault them at all. But the reception staff were terrible they didnt want to know you was their so ignorant.The pool side was kept clean and also the pool. They had some one to entertain the kids in the pool eg they played water polo. Most depressing hotel ever from A TripAdvisor Member
Was fairly horrified to arrive at Columbus and find that the decent three star hotel I was expecting looked more like a depressing, shabby two star hotel. Where would I start about the bits I didn't like? For starters, no air-conditioning if you want fan you have to hire one, could smell drain smells on entering room - coming from bathroom - old, dingy bathroom, no where to put anything, no hooks to hang clothes to keep off floor which tended to be wet from something leaking from toilet (ugh!). Room couldn't be more basic - decor drab and depressing - looked like someone had thrown together some mismatching furniture, bedcovers, curtains from charity shop. No privacy in room without curtains closed as rooms opposite facing. Everything about the main part of hotel looks drab and old, lots of dusty, tacky artificial flowers add to the morbid feel. Could only really be put right by pulling it all down and starting again hopefully that's what they're planning. Food basic but not bad. Often no glasses for the juice, no cups for the coffee - not particularly fault of staff just not enough staff to do the job. Reception staff very helpful, cleaning of room good. Some of the hotel reps really awful but not by any means all of them. However, loved the beach - Playa Las Vistas, loved the sunshine. Lovely holiday when not at the hotel. Definitely two star standard.

on arriving at the columbus 10th september 2004 for 2 weeks was very impressed with all services provided.rooms were clean and tidy and not one cockroach in sight.Only one thing dissappointing was the need to get up early to get a sunbed.which wasnt a major thing compared to the rest of the holiday.the hotel shop on site provided everything needed except good manners from one member of women staff. if she had of smiled her face would of cracked.but i suppose she was working and we were having a brill time on our hols.the hotel was in the right place for all the amenities we required , everywhere was a short distance to walk with excellent entertainment just down the road.the pool was very good and was used by us most days.we will definately be visiting again .

My boyfriend and i booked an allocation on arrival two days before flying to las americas. We were a little unsure of what to expect and from our first view of the building we began to worry even more, but as soon as we were greated by the friendly staff and shown to our room all our worries went away. On our first night we did have a frinedly welcoming from a cockroach but after it was removed we didnt see any more. our room was very clean and filled with your basic essencials. Our welcome meeting with freestyle was excellent and informative. Gregor our rep was very helpful and had us all in stitchers with his stories of past freestyle excursions. We booked a freestyle block excursion which was well worth the money, from pool, foam and school parties to pub crawls and chill out cruise and best of all ALL THE ALCOHOL YOU CAN DRINK! overall this holiday was a great experience that will never be forgotten. well done columbus and Thomson freestlye. and of cause GREGOR !from Rachel and Simon

Spent first 2 weeks of August 2004 there. We were in block 2 and had no problems with noise or c/roaches. Staff helpful & friendly.Only down was in-house entertainment was dire so tended to go out late to find better entertainment.

Went to Apart hotel columbus in July rooms were an okay size had alot of cockroaches and rooms wernt very well cleaned. Had to get up very early just to get a sunlounger or you will have to lie on the floor. I went half board and the food was absoultly disgusting there was no choice and it was nearly the same ever day. The nightly entertainment was good. If i was to go back to tenerrife i would definetly not be staying in this hotel.
