Columbus Aparthotel

we stayed here the last week in august first week in september 2011 and the bad reviews are spot on this place should be an 18-30´s hotel,its 80% young people,running around shouting,screaming untill the early hours,alcohol is served from 10am untill 11pm if you are all inclusive, this makes matters worse,there was music being played in the rooms full blast at 2am when we complained the security officer that delt with the problem was assulted by some young girls,the police were called it was terrible,it is like a circus,we are in our mid 30s with no children and we will never come to this hotel again,you have been warned!!!!! The rep also had a bad attitude towards the whole sittuation,to our amazement the girls who acted like animals were still allowed to stay at the hotel, im so glad we went home when we did.

my family went here on july 29th it looked great in the broucher. the week before we went i looked up some reviews i did;nt like some of them so i phoned up the travel agent and she said dont beleive every thing you read.so of we went it looked fine got in our room looked ok next morning you could see the floor could do with a clesn our beding was changed twice in two weeks our floor was not sweept or washed at all.then on our second week my daughter forgot to put her braclet away it went missing as well as a tub of change and the staff and rep were not very helpfull. we were AL and the rooms did not look updated to me

we have just come back from this hole of a hotel, if you can change your holiday and go elsewhere, the hotel rooms filthy, staff all but three on the bar nasty peices of work, they ignore children,anyone under twenty one drink only, your all inclusive expires 12 noon day you leave so you could be in hotel till nine at night, adults told 2 drinks an return for more, no piano bar as stated, entertainment rubbish, we were bored out of our minds, you queue three times befor your bum gets on a seat at mealtimes,health an safety big issue with lack of sunbeds although it states plenty, people queue from 8am they dont open beds till 10am, one life guard very nasty tellin you to get off beds befor six obsessed with beds staying behind a smelly sewer line!!! no communication whatsoever, people were reporting stolen property the mamagement were not interested, the list goes on, we pais 3200 and have written a three page complaint, majority of people very unhappy here and yet rep says only handful complain,not enough seats to socialise of an evening,its as if they dont want you using the all inclusive facility,we witnessed quite a few times when people went in the pool after hours, stripped to underwear and ordered to pay100 euros on the spot or bags were packed, yet this hotel is aimed at the young in short this is called coldits not columbus dont go there!!!!

When we arrived for our holiday we were welcomeed by a gorgeous marble reception and floors with a beautiful swimming pool over the other side and me and my party felt good about this place. It changed after we entered our rooms. In one room we found cloths from the previous occupiers, earrings and tampons, along with general dust and dirt along with a huge piece of broken glass in our wardrobe. The other room there firdge wasn't working, blood on the bathroom door, graffiti on the balcony wall and dried stale vomit in there wardrobe. To top it off the rooms were also cockroach infested. When mentioning these problems to the reception they said they would take a look, and nothing was done about any of it. When the cleaners had come round they would change the towels, possibley the sheets, but left rubbish and again other previous items. It was disgusting and very unpleasent, another family said they were so appauled that they resorted into sleeping in there clothes at night. If venturing to Tenerife, the pool 1st class, the bar 1st class, the rooms, you'd be safer in a sewer.

I stayed in the Columbus Aparthotel, Tenerife for 10 days.I can only describe my stay as disapointing,the staff were great,hard working and friendly.However,the noise from people (mainly GROUPS of Y.P) returning to their rooms at night was unbearable. I did complain numerous times but to no avail. The management need to make a decision whether they are catering for 18-30's or families and couples. I definately won't be returning here!!!

after readin the review on this hotel we were a bit weary, nice entrance area nice pool didnt get much sun the roof terace was good drink round pool in plastic didnt mind but not with tea or coffee in meal were,nt 2 bad our room was on the new part which was not clean but foned recption they were here within seconds with brand new duvets and pillow no bath just shower which was all new very central hotel every thing a short stroll away would defo go bac 2 this hotel

We stayed at this hotel earlier this year with our two children. The room was very basic and not very clean, you even had to pay for the use of the TV, there were no facilities for being able have a drink in your room, no kettle, no fridge, no nothing. The reception staff were incredibly rude at all times. We didn't get a whole nights sleep during our two week stay due the noise of people getting drunk and arguing and slamming doors all night long. The food was pretty much the same every night and with chips for a potato dish almost all the time. We overspent on days out just to get out the terrible hotel, as people were getting drunk around the pool from very early in the morning, and the pools were so cold it was unbearable to get in them, there was supposed to be a heated pool but we never found it. The so called childrens entertainment was almost non existant and didn't start until far too late at night. The hotel ruined what is a lovely place to visit, I would never go back to that hotel.

The hotel was nice and the rooms where always clean but the maids where stealing from us ! During th second day of our stay, we noticed that things where goin missing so I purchased a small recorder and played it on the bedside table facing the mirror. When I arrived home I watched the footage taken from the recorder and there was the maid (mid 60's) steeling a packet of cigarettes from my carton, trying to open the cases before realising their was a pad lock on it and looking through my purse which was empty thank god. On the second day a different maid (early 40's) stole a braclet and my beach towel for whatever reason. When showing the footage to thomas cook, they said it could have been anyone anywhere so no action was taken. My advice to you all would be to avoid this hotel !

After booking a holiday to thi hotel I was apprehensive about going due to some of the awful reviews.
I went with my partner and son and can honestly say I was more than happy with hotel!
Staff were pleasant and bar staff ARE friendly if you are polite to them. We were all inclusive and never had to wait long at the bar to be served, got two drinks per person no problems at all. Bar snacks were tasty and restaurant food was varied and enjoyable.
Rooms were cleaned every day. Rooms were very modern and a nice balcony. All public areas were clean too.
It can be noisy at times, only at weekend tbh and there is a quieter area to sunbathe away from pools, but it didn't really bother us : my 11 yr old son slept well every night!
I wouldnt reccommend this hotel for families with children aged 2-10 as there didnt seem to be much to do for that age group. Otherwise it's a great place for cheap holiday sun.
