We have just came back yesterday from...

Jul 2006, Miss J McLachlan

We have just came back yesterday from these apartments and we couldn’t have had a better time thanks to all of the staff. They were extremely friendly and helpful especially John, David and Ellie they all couldn’t do enough for you.
From the day we arrived, John couldn’t have made us feel any more welcome as he helped us to our room. Also both John and David make fantastic shots at the bar and are both very entertaining. It was the friendliness of the staff that made our holiday so unforgettable.
However in the Olympic brochure it says there is only a 20 minute stroll to Kos town in fact it was an hour’s hike. We would definitely recommend going on some excursions but we wouldn’t book them with the holiday rep as local travel shops sell them for a lot cheaper.
We went over to turkey and we went on a 3 island tour and both of these were fantastic. We would just like to say hello to all of the friends we made whilst on holiday and to all of the extremely helpful staff. We will definitely be returning in the near future!!

Nice 2* self catering apartments just...

Jul 2006, Miss C Braithwaite

Nice 2* self catering apartments just outside Kos Town on top of a small hill. There is an excellent, regular bus service to and from Kos town (for only 1.05 euro each way).
Rooms are basic (no shower curtain) but kept extremely clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. Did have a few cold showers but once I reported this, it was immediately sorted out. I stayed in room 22, facing the pool and it was actually nice and quiet! Check out is at 12noon but if you have a late flight, they will store luggage and there is use of clean shower rooms to freshen up in at no extra cost.
Local beaches are not great - instead take village bus to Tingaki beach or book a trip to Paradise Beach (better value for money to use local tour providers rather then holiday tour operator).

The Aristo hotel is basic, but is clean and well run, the rooms are cleaned daily and extra towels/linen are provided on request.
the staff are friendly and helpful, the reason why kids are asked not to go into the lounge is if they are wet, which I think is reasonable, you wouldn’t allow your children to do it at home, why should the hotel staff? the food is lovely and Ellie, the morning/afternoon receptionist / waitress / dogs body is patient and friendly, if she told kids not to run on the marble floor once, she told them a thousand times.
The local amenities are also good, two restaurants at the foot of the hotel and bike hire too, as is the bus stop, along the road a bit is the supermarket and also a sports bar, for those who want to watch the footie and get a pint while the kids play.
Am going in august this year, see you there. Kos is lovely, if you can, book a boat trip on the front in Kos Town, the Michelangelo, food included - it was superb!

It was our first holiday to Greece,...

Jan 2006, Miss S.R. Amos

It was our first holiday to Greece, and we couldn't have picked a better hotel! The staff were fantastic, they were extremely helpful, cheerful and friendly. The view from the bar/ reception area was amazing, and on a night, you could see the lights of near-by Turkey.
We stayed in a 2 bedroomed room on the ground floor, with a big kitchen and rather large bathroom area. We had an average sized balcony, with a table and chairs, and both bedrooms had slide doors leading out into it. The bar served lovely food during the day, from chips and burgers to toasted sandwiches and salads.
On an evening, the barman, Dave, made an extraordinary array of cocktails and drinks at amazingly cheap prices. Just down from the bar was a small play area for the younger children, with a small slide etc... There was a smaller childrens pool, and there was a larger one that was perfect for playing water sports or just relaxing on an inflatable. There was a range of Sky Sports for viewing all night, every night in the reception. The only bad thing I can think of, was the having to walk back up the hill to the hotel on an evening.
The area surrounding was also fantastic, with lots to see and do, and a never ending supply of enthusiastic locals! In all, this has to have been the best holiday I have been on!

Sep 2005, Miss S Kennedy

I have just got back from the wonderful Greek island of Kos and had a fantastic holiday! everyone was very helpful - especially the reps. We went on the bar crawl in Kos Town and had the best night ever! we went in all of the best bars/clubs in Kos town and although it was a late night it was still worth it.
Our bedding and towels were changed regularly and the room was kept very clean. The food from the pool bar was good and the facilities were perfect for our needs. I would definitely recommend the Bar Crawl only if you are into up-to-date music, clubbing and dancing! I enjoyed this holiday so much that i am thinking of booking it again for next year. There are insects around but repellents are an easy solution - watch out for the mosquitoes though!

Please be aware of this...

Jul 2005, Mr T Jones

Please be aware of this accommodation! Where fundamentally OK they are many shorts fallings that can spoil your holiday
Despite repeated requests from different guests they still insisted on blasting music from the top of the central bar intil1:30am every morning. The accommodation is arranged in a crescent around the slight hill and all facing the bar. They have a speaker on the roof and for some reason pointed to the apartments. If you want to hear the sound of crickets and cicada at night when on a relaxing holiday do not go here. The music ranges from 20 to 40 years old and does not cater for mood or time of day. They refused to play relaxing music for the pool area during the day and kept the music switched off They owner for some reason seems to thinks they should be trying to provide some sort of night club atmosphere to a family based accommodation.
Despite a nice lounge area the woman who owned it repeatedly threw our children away from the area where the board games and dominos etc were, they were well behaved and playing sensibly. I think she just wanted to keep the area unused so it looked good in the brochure, this begs the question as to why they have this area in the first place.
On the day odd departure they REFUSED to provide a courtesy room and wanted to charge me 30 Euros as I was 15 minutes late leaving the room? They did not attempt to clean the room until some 5 hours later, so they clearly were not concerted with new guests but only trying to squeeze money out of me. The area provided was the pool toilets with urine on the floor and no seats on any of the toilets. As far as I could make out this area was not cleaned throughout the whole day of departure despite its heavy use as the cleaner was occupied with cleaning all the rooms for the next load of guests.
The beaches on Kos are ALL terrible. We covered 563 kilometres in a week and only found one clean sandy beach. Do not believe and brochure that will tell you otherwise. The island seems to specialize in all inclusive accommodation rather than traditional Greek self catering, presumably due to the disgusting beaches and general cleanliness of the island. If you wand to stay in your accommodation and not leave the complex, then go self catering and stay in one of the many very large hotel complexes. If you want traditional nice Greek beaches and a pretty island avoid this place!

This holiday was the third time to...

Aug 2004, Rebecca

This holiday was the third time to Kos and our third time staying at these apartments. It was five years since we had been to Kos and we were excited to return.

The Aristo is situated in a very quiet resort where there are many restaurants near by. The apartments are on a steep hill overlooking the fantastic views of Turkey.
The accommodation is very basic but clean, and the towels and bed sheets are changed regularly. There are different staff behind the bar who we found were not at all helpful or friendly, then the previous staff that we made friends with, five years ago. At this, we were very disappointed.
We had a jeep for 4 days and discovered that nothing has changed - Kos is still a pretty and historical island. Kos town is a beautiful place and is a 10 minute bus ride from the apartments.
There is an ideal taverna at the bottom of the hill, of which is owned by a very friendly Greek family, of whom host great hospitality and serve delicious Greek food.
The Aristo Aparthotel are ideal for families who want a quiet, relaxing holiday, but who can put up with the non existent friendliness received from the staff.
For anyone thinking about going to these apartments, I would just like to inform you about the intolerable amount of flies. For anyone who cannot stand them, I would strongly recommend that you stay in a different hotel as the Aristo suffers with an extreme amount. Other than that, Kos is well worth visiting for an unforgettable holiday.

Aug 2003, Mrs S M Kettlewell

The Aristo is situated in a very quiet if not secluded location. There is a very steep hill from the main road up to the small complex. The Aristo is a very well maintained family run complex and very clean.
The rooms are very basic however the beds and towels were changed regularly. Our room overlooked the very pleasant pool area and we had excellent views across the sea to Turkey.
There was only entertainment once a week in the complex, which was a Greek night. The bar served hot and cold snacks.
All the staff were very helpful, all Greek(who spoke good English) apart from one English girl who worked behind the and had a wealth of knowledge about the local area.
Kos town was easily reached by bus, tickets could be purchased in reception cheaper than on bus. The journey took around 10 mins . Kos town is beautiful, steeped in history and very pretty. There were some excellent restaurants.
The Aristo will best appeal to couples and families who enjoy a quiet location.

Probably worst holiday EVER! In brochure says every room had air conditioning, they don’t! None of them. Food was poor. Didn’t feel safe. Never go again!
