Apartments are lovely and spacious but this is the only good point.Starting with the basics there are no parasols around the pool available to rent. When you complain to reception you are told to buy one from their shop for 7.50 euro when you can buy them in town for 5... more

Stayed at Pateo Village with my wife and two boys for 10 nights at the end of August to beginning of September 2011. The first thing that hits you when you arrive at the reception on the complex is the smell, I asked the receptionist what the smell was and she replied "is... more

We were concerned prior to our visit having read the reviews. Concerns proved to be well founded. Although the apartments are dated they were clean and spacious. The maids come in for a superficial clean five times a week. Excellent at changing bedding and towels, and... more

We arrived at the hotel and we were checked in straight away. When I asked was our room on the ground floor I was advised that yes it was. I explained that this was not suitable as we had a 2 year old and an open plan terrace was not an option. We were moved upstairs... more

Just returned from a two week holiday. The only down fall to this I found was that we were on a 6.05am morning flight out so were due to arrive in resort around 10am (but we had a 3 hour delay). The down fall being is if we had been on time you cannot check in until 3pm,... more

very very poor !
we visited the first week in May 2007. Pateo Village is very basic. What disappointed us most was the stink of sewers and drains in our first room. It was soooo bad even the travel rep agreed and luckily moved us. Unfortunately the people beside us where not so lucky and had too stay . The smell was hidious! And the wiff hit you as soon as you entered the apartment . our second room was slighly smaller but didnt smell which was a relief! overall the pateo village is a basic complex, the rooms would sufice and the pool area is a... more
Ok, not luxury but fine for a simple week away..
We were at Pateo Village last week (31/3 - 7/4/07) and on the whole we were impressed. There were just two of us so there was ample space - I imagine the apartments would be rather crowded if there were also people sleeping in the living area! All the apartments are the same size and on the ground and first floor they are in pairs, but if you are on the top floor, as we were, there is only one apartment so you get the benefit of an enormous terrace, which is the equivalent to the apartment underneath! This is a somewhat well... more
pateo village appartments were one of the best we've stayed in
Hi my husband and I stayed at the Pateo Village Appartments in Albufeira with our 3 children aged 14, 13 and 9. These appartments were very spacious clean and had everything you could want to cook a meal including a full cooker, fridge with freezer compartment. We were lucky as we had a ground floor appartment so we just opened up the pateo doors and put the table and chairs on the grass outside of our pateo and could watch the kids down by 1 of the 3 pools as we relaxed and cought the sun. The restaurant within the complex was... more
Clean & spacious
Have just returned from two week stay in these apartments. Despite security reports in previous reviews everything was absolutely fine - no problems. The apartment was very clean and spacious but somewhat basic lacking in comfort i.e. no easy chairs to sit in apart from the bed settee which was not very comfortable. Being such a large apartment there is plenty of room for a few extras. The TV on broadcast foreign channels apart from Sky News and CNN. The kitchen had a lot of cupboard space but very little in the way of... more
great for familys
Just returned from pateo village, was concerned about security after reading reports, but no problems whatsoever. Was given a second floor apt, but was worried about my 3 year old daughter climbing so asked to be moved to ground level, they did this with no hesitation. Rooms spotless, all staff on site very friendly and helpful and honest. left expensive watch in first apt we was offered, didnt realize i left it there and the maid came and returned it. Didnt buy from on site shop as a bit over priced, found few shops just outside complex... more
value for money
We've been "all-inclusive" on our last few holidays and decided to go self-catering for a change. We'd read the reviews about the Pateo Village after booking and it seemed there were concerns about the security, entertainment, location and prices. The security was fine - no reports of any thefts whilst we were there and there is a chain on the door now. I stupidly left my handbag in a cupboard and am pleased to report that when I got home and rang them, they found it and sent it on to me with contents intact. I don't agree with the... more
Clean, tidy and friendly but noisy......
We have just returned from staying at the above apartments for a week. The rooms were ok and clean and the staff were friendly. We made the mistake of eating at the apartments for the first night, overpriced and we did not go to Portugal to only eat burgers and chips!!!!!! We found a lovely restaurant just at the bottom overlooking the sea, excellent food. The main concern was that the rules they make are not adhered to. They have notices everywhere saying do not reserve the sunloungers, but every morning as early as 7.45... more
A relaxing time at pateo
Within the first hour of arriving at pateo our little boy fell at the side of the pool, total accident. but the manager of the apartments took us to hospital, helped us through the language barrier and brought us back again. He asked about how he was doing everytime we saw him afterwards and this along with the friendliness of other staff and fantastic reps made our holiday extra special with a personnal touch. The shop at Pateo is a little on the expensive side, but nothing that you don't mind paying for the convience of not having... more
pateo village nightmare
we arrived at pateo village on 12 may 05 and thought what a fantastic looking place, perfect location of the apartment on the ground floor right next to the pool perfect for keeping an eye on the children. first few days were ok then we got burgled on the wednesday night, NO FORCED entry gold watch was stolen, another apartment 3 doors down also robbed NO FORCED entry. Upon reporting to the rep SALLY ANNE who filed the paperwork we advised her to mention these events in her future welcome meetings, we were told by her that... more
Wouldn't Return
This complex is very well presented, with clean spacious apartments. This is the ONLY good point of the resort. PLEASE BE AWARE - The security at the Pateo resort is non existant. On Wednesday 25th May, my apartment was burgled. The thieves apparently had keys to the apartment and simply let themselves in as there was NO sign of forced entry. Whilst inside, they also gained entry into my safe!!!!. Once they had helped themselves to cash, video camera and other items, they simply walked out and deadlocked the front door after... more
