We have just come back from a week in Lanzarote park hotel, very clean, well situated, close to the beach and shops, the staff were helpful and welcoming, the only problem is if you wanted to go self-catering you would have had a bit of a problem. The cooking utensils were... more

Just returned from Lanzarote Park, Playa Blanca. Location of hotel is excellent, seafront, and just 5-10 minute stroll into town centre. We were however, disappointed with self catering facilities. Kitchen is located within a cupboard, and consists of a sink and 2 electric... more

We have recently come back from a weeks stay at the Lanzarote Park, and would recommend this hotel and area to our friends and family. The hotel caters for everyone but mainly Germans. (This wasn't a problem at all) The rooms were clean modern and welcoming and all have a... more

Well located. Clean and functional hotel. Some of the facilities now becoming tired in appearance and quality e.g. Squash courts needed repairing, whilst gym equipment dated back to the early 80's. All Hotel staff professional and welcoming. Entertainment quality fair to... more

Excellent holiday
In a nutshell, an excellent location, very good hotel and fascilities, friendly polite staff and reasonable food. I would recommend that you upgrade to all inclusive which cost €19 per day for adults and there is no mininum number of days. Beer, soft drinks, water and ice cream are all self service at the pool bar and 3 wines are avaible at lunch also self service. Lots going on for adults and especially for children during the day. Adult entertainment not so good at night. If you just fancy having a drink and watching the world go by I would recommend the Kings Head in Playa Blanca Town. The town and the harbour are a short stroll away along the lovely promenade. The shops are pretty good in Playa Blanca. There is also a good golden sand beach nearby. The only reason that I could find for this hotel being only 3 star is there is no air conditioning anywhere. Fans along with other essentials can be hired. All rooms are large and have a fridge(very handy) and a sea view. Lots of room around the 4 swimming pools. The food was always hot with a reasonable choice, and with show cooking of meat and fish. I booked this hotel as a last minute choice and couldn't of been happier, can't wait to go again.
Excellent location
Just back after 2 weeks self catering in the Lanzarote Park. Overall, an excellent hotel set in great surroundings and in a brilliant location. A very big complex, bigger than you will probably expect , with the main section kept for the all inclusive guests. A lot of foreign guests, especially Germans, so if you are wanting a sunbed near the pools, get up early and get your towels down!!! I seen a few up as early as 7.30am putting thiers down, despite the Hotel apparently having a "no sunbed reservation" policy. The Hotel section we stayed in had 3 pools, 2 children and one main. All the pools were very cold when you got in but you got used to it. Just go to the beach about 100 yards way and get a couple of sunbeds for 4 quid, clean and safe for the kids. Very basic self catering facilities within the room but they do the job as we didn't intend cooking that often anayway. The restaurants near the Hotel are excellent, especially the Beach Club and the Asain/Steakhouse with the bouncy castle for the kids. All good food at very reasonable prices. Also try the Irish Anvil pub just down the road, very nice but the portions are huge. Overall, a good clean complex with maid service 6 days a week. Would go back again and recommend this Hotel to anyone.
Too many Germans
Went in May 2007 for a week self catering. Found the rooms to be very poor for cooking, TV had all german channels but they gave the brits CNN! Great!! The entertainment was the funniest thing i've ever seen!!!! Miming to Saturday Night Fever. No really the entertainment was the worst i've ever seen. I was sat there laughing and looking round the room at the Germans who seemed to think it was good. The entertainment staff didn't have good english because they catered for their foreign guests and not one of them had any talent. I you are british i suggest you go to the Irish bar round the corner where the food is great, the staff are friendly and they have live music at night. Don't forget your jumper for the evening as it gets cold!!
A Great Hotel & Quiet Resort - relaxing
This hotel was a lovely, relaxing place to have a holiday. The rooms (infact every part of the hotel) were really clean (our room cleaned everyday except Friday) I did not see much of the enterainment as we ventured out to the resort every night, which was close enough to easily get to but not to close to be on top of everything. It is set right on the front so has lovely views either when by one of the pools or on your balcony (which is usally the hottest place) The walk to the resort is along a lovely path so not near any roads, making the walk peaceful and a lovely way to end an evening. Only downside to that is people walking past and being able to see you when your lying by the pool. Dosen't seem to be alot, if any noise restriction between the rooms so if people walking around, flushing the toilet etc in the next rooms or above you hear it all. Big Tip! Take warm clothes as it gets pretty cold in the evening at this time of year. We didn't and had to buy clothes from a nearby surf shop. A must visit is the Irish Anvil, on route to the resort. It does great food, enterainment and the staff are really friendly. It has a great atmosphere and became my local!
Great holiday
My wife and I booked a late deal in May 2007 'Self Catering' and were quite impressed with the reviews i had seen here on this review site. I had searched the interent only to find the same place (Lanzarotre Park) as my local independent travel agent had found and they were cheaper by £50. After reading the reviews i have to agree with them all, + points Clean Hotel and rooms, friendly staff, suberb location, Lovely Pools, the middle one with the snack bar near is the liveiest. (Bit cold though) Easy Walking distance to amenities, restaurants and bars. Great choice of food and bars, get a taxi to Marina Rubicon as well, new development, nice area, under 4 euros to get there. (The Irish Anvil was great for english breakfast and a must on the way home in the evening if you like live music and a good craic, really friendly staff there too) - Points Bedrooms are fine but not great, entertainment was poor though it was based for Germans and Dutch. The Germans and Dutch (Just kidding i really enjoy going to hotels with fewer english about, there's less people to talk to!) If your a light sleeper or like to lay in, then forget it, if it's not young children screaming at 7.00am, its the germans shouting or the cleaners Scraping (with a capital S), the beds, chairs and tables or just about anything they can find to interupt your sleep. You may want to take a cardigan or jumper for evenings as they are always chilly! We didn't and as we smoke, we got cold sitting on the outside tables of the restauruants every night. All in all a fantastic week spent in a decent 3star(Plus) hotel
LOCATION IS EVERYTHNG
We chose this hotel having enjoyed the outdoor restaurant on a previous trip. The staff seemed really nice and helpful and this was confirmed when we became guests here for a week. This is a hotel that caters for children and the majority of the guests are German or Dutch, but it has a nice unassuming atmostphere about it, and it is very possible to have an enjoyable and restful time here without children. The hotel accomodation is spread over 3 semi circular buildings, all facing the sea, all rooms have balconies. The structure of the hotel is such that it does not have sound insulation. If you want to sleep in or go to bed early be careful about your location, try to get a room on the top (3rd) floor, if at all possible. This does away with one source of noise pollution (high heels on tiled floors or small children stampeding around above you) early morning, which we did experience for the first couple of days. Forget watching the TV unless you are German or like watching SKY news. The restaurant was fine, and the food good quality and lots of it. Whilst it is a little regimented (the second you finish eating the plate is whipped away) but generally we were not rushed to leave. The hotel night time entertainment is lightweight . We chose to walk into town to the local bars and pubs which are plentiful. We happened upon a very accomplished Spanish guitar player and singer in the forecourt of the Princess Yaiza hotel when en route to the Rubicon Marina who made our trip to Lanzarote well worth it. He was the first authentic musician we had the fortune to see throughout the trip. The hotel would really benefit by adding something like this of quality and culture to their entertainment. Possibly some classical Spanish guitar, something topical and of the region. Another big plus for us is the no smoking regime inside the hotel. Yes we will certainly come back to this hotel hopefully with better weather next time. Early January is never predictable. I hope this has been helpful.
Great Family Hotel
Great family hotel with loads to do for my four year old son. The "Mini-Club" staff were wonderful to him. We were half-board and the food (buffet for breakfast and dinner) was plentiful and excellent quality. The only thing that stops a five star review is the bedrooms. They are fine and clean, if a little spartan. All in a all, a lovely hotel and a great holiday.
Lovely Hotel
I have just returned from my stay at Lanzarote Park and enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are a very good quality. As we went later in the year it was a lot cooler so not having air con wasn't an issue. We stayed Self Catering and their is an array of lovely restaurants on the strip of Playa Blanca (about a 10 min walk from the hotel) We ate out every night in a different restaurant and we had a gorgeous meal every night at very reasonable prices. If you like to do the cooking yourself then the kitchen facilities in the rooms are not of a high standard. The pools are very clean and well maintained. If you are more of a beach person then the beach is a 2 minute walk away and is beautiful. We didn't spend a lot of time on the evening in the hotel as it was mainly different nationalities staying there. I do however, reccommend the Irish bar just a stones throw away from the hotel, they have a good quality live act every night. All in all I highly reccommend the hotel and the resort and would deffinately go back there again.
Best location in Lanzarote
Iberostar Lanzarote Park,a great hotel with a wonderful location. O.K,so there is no A/C in the rooms(only a 3 star) and the shower water that is re-used to flush the toilet does stink sometimes!(at least they are doing their bit for the environment!!) These negatives to one side the hotel is set on the sea front with the sound of the sea to aid sleep, along with the alcohol....of course.A 10 minute leisurely walk to the town of Playa Blanca with it's Restaurants,Bars,Shops and Nightlife for the young at heart, a pretty town so far unspoilt by excessive tourism the Island of Fuerteventura is easily reached by the 2 ferry operators that embark from the port, only 5 minutes from the hotel. Back to the Hotel, this consists of 3 semi-circular blocks of rooms looking out to Fuerteventura each with a balcony and a sea view with pool for each block plus a toddler pool(Beware, you have to be up damned early to get your towels on the sun-beds and get a sunshade. These remain un-used for up to 5 hours!!)The food in the Restaurant is plentiful excellent and varied although it does suffer from repeatability after 2 weeks, so a trip to one of the many Chinese Restaurants is a welcome relief (New Brilliant is excellent food and excellent value for money.Next to Spar 3-4 minutes from the Hotel) All -in- all a great holiday suitable for all age groups.
Lanzarote park a bit dated
We have just returned from a week at the Lanzarote park, glad we were not staying there for two, the hotel is well situated on the see front and a short walk to the main town. The entrance to the hotel is lovely with big windows overlooking the sea, the reception staff were very helpful but at times understaffed. Unfortunatly once you stepped outside of the reception it was like stepping back in time! the rooms had a definate severnties feel even though they had been sprused up with a bit of paint, we stayed self catering and the cooking facilities were quite inadequate, luckly it is cheep to eat out so not too much of a problem! unlike the ANTS!!! they were everywhere!!! The resort its self is nice very family friendly and not to busy.
