Panorama Hotel

Have just enjoyed 10 days based at the Panorama Hotel in Albisano ( a hill overlooking Torri del Benaco in Lake Garda ).
We booked Ryanair flights to Milan Bergamo, and hired a car to drive the 75 miles or so to our hotel. The hotel was stunning - set into the hillside high above Torri with tremendous views to the town below from our balcony and also from the restaurant terrace. The rooms were superb - beautifully decorated and very clean. Staff do not speak much English, however ! ( A problem we encountered quite a bit in this area, where the majority of the tourist trade comes from Germany ).We managed ok with our phrase book, and the effort was very much appreciated by everyone we met. The only down side to this hotel was the pool which is very small and often all 4 loungers and 6 deckchairs were taken by lunchtime and remained occupied for the rest of the day.
The food served in the restaurant ( open to non-residents) is absolutely delicious and fairly reasonably priced.
It is also a great base for touring the surrounding lake towns - Malcesine, Limone, Garda, Bardolino and Lazise were all within easy reach. We also drove to Verona for the day as it was only an hour away. Overall, it was a terrific location and a great hotel - I would definitely go there again.
