My husband and I visited the Plaza Athenee on our honeymoon in July 2007 and we could not recommend it enough. - upon arrival we were greeted by a thomas cook rep (Rose) who could not do any more for us, I was presented with a flower garland and welcome drinks, as this was our honeymoon we returned the first evening to find a lovely cake waiting for us.
The rooms were spacious, clean and coupled with the city views made for a fantastic stay. The hotel staff were very friendly and the breakfast buffet was extremely varied and catered for all tastes, there certainly was something for everyone.
The hotel well located a few minutes from a sky train terminal - making easy access to all of bangkok - (we would highly recommend the use of the sky train whilst in Bangkok - it is excellent (and very clean)).
As we were on only staying a few nights we did not actually use the pool - but it looked great - certainly with the city back drop!
The Plaza Athenee certainly helped make our honeymoon just as special as we had hoped for - I am currently nagging my husband as to when we can return!
