Wonderfull
We had a wonderfull stay at this hotel. The people were so friendly, always happy to answer your questions and ready to help you if necessary. We felt coming and staying there like a warm blanket. The lobby was inviting and we were attended correct and very friendly. The rooms were cleaned every day and always a flower on the bed or in the room. Bottles of water and tea and coffee in the room. Holiday Horribilis
This resort should be removed from the Accor chain of hotels. We booked our holiday expecting Accor quality and a relaxing beach side resort. That was not to be!! This was our second visit to Bali, as we had stayed at the Novotel Nusa Dua resort just after it had opened in 2007. We thought staying closer to the beach and in a quieter area would be nicer alternative this time around. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. We understand that the pick up at the airport has been the source of many of your frustrations and we are fully aware about the trouble that transport issues can cause to our guests upon their arrival at the airport. There is a kind of “parallel business” organized around transportation with the local community people who are not working for our property. This is unfortunately something quite common for many properties in Bali and the hotels are involved with the authorities to find a suitable solution. Usually, experienced travelers make direct contact with the hotel if they have some doubts about their pickup upon their arrival. We would have been happy to refund this amount to you if you might have taken the time to talk with one of our management staff during your stay with us. The deluxe room of 42 square meters you were accommodated was refurbished 3 years ago and are very much appreciated by the majority of our guests. The "back" of the resort is favoured by some guests for coming and going for shopping and touring. In a property offering 41 bungalows and where the floors are limited to the ground floor (for deluxe rooms), (rooms on ground and first floor only) the chance to be accommodated on the ground floor is of course quite important. We are sorry to read that, despite the efforts done by our receptionist team, the other room proposed was not appropriate too. Our garden is maintained every day by 20 gardeners and is one of the most appreciated part of the resort. In a tropical country, if some mould appears in certain specific areas of the room, maintenance is done regularly and rooms are repaint sometimes twice a year. Many guests prefer not to be overcome by the stench of bleach and the allergies it can sometime cause. We try to adhere to natural cleaning products for the environment’s sake where possible. Smoking laws in Indonesia are not as strict as other parts of the globe, and certain guests don't have the discipline to respect the non-smoking area which is not convenient to others. The Restaurant serves a selection of Balinese and Western style food with more than 48 dishes to cater for guests from all cultures. As part of an international chain our hygiene procedures are strict and regularly controlled. A bellyache can also result from food eaten up to 2 weeks before, or simply for most people, by a change in routine, diet and general travel. As a leisure hotel, wi-fi is only provided in the lobby and in the restaurant areas for the moment. As mentioned in our website, the hotel also provides 15 deluxe rooms fully equipped with Internet connection and are available upon reservation. The property is not featured as a property selling rooms with a “sea view” nor with balconies providing a day bed. Our staff are regularly trained to a high level of care and attention to detail, and often the naturally friendly nature of Balinese people, means they wish to avoid conflict of any kind. Most people these days prefer to use ATM's or change their money at money changers in town to avoid higher fees, so not a large amount of cash is kept on hand at one time, please excuse us if we were too short with our exchange currency during that day. Guest are always encouraged to check their bills thoroughly before signing them at all hotels, certainly not because the staff "try to fleece you" but because a mistake can always occur. The majority of our guests, including families and couples, enjoy a hassle free, peaceful and relaxing time at the Resort, and complaints are not common. We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us, but do hope that you have received much value from your Advantage Plus card as most Members do. We do hope you return again to the Island of the Gods, where so many people enjoy a magnificent holiday at Mercure Sanur.

Nice property
I got a room here for under $40US when Accor had their 3 day sale, so I gave it high value marks..This is a big attractive property with two pools and a restaurant (which I never used). Rooms are very quiet and completely dark when patio doors are closed, which made it easy to sleep in late. Beach is free of vendors, and have very comfortable lounge chairs. OK alltogether
We stayed at the mercure sanur for 2 weeks back in July, the hotel is off the nightlife areas, so you'll have to take a taxi in the evening if you want to enjoy restaurants or bars. It is an OK hotel compared to what we've seen in the area for the same price. The rooms are big and clean but would need a decoration effort. We took a breakfast + diner deal and did not regret it, the food is great. The beach is a bit crowded though and not that nice at low tide. The beach & swimming pool bars close very early which is a shame.
Relaxing peaceful and clean
We stayed four nights at the Mecure in Jan 09 . We had been to a few other hotels on this trip and found Mecure good. We where looking for a place to take the whole family this Xmas and have decided on the Mecure .This hotel will suit grandparents,5 young adults and the grandchildren . Beach much nicer than Kuta at this time of year . Rooms where clean and comfortable , pools nice and staff very friendly . Good in general, but some services questionable
We stayed there in the Chinese New Year holidays for my business plus family vacation. The place was very clean and beautiful with a lot of trees. The staffs seemed kind and friendly. The stay was comfortable in general, and it should have been perfect if some happenings did not occur. Our flight from Jakarta was very late and we arrived at the hotel after midnight. lovely place to stay
really lovely hotel! stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. the hotel rooms are clean, neat and modern, with brilliant air con for those who struggle with the heat. the grounds were really beautiful and we enjoyed the huge swimming pools and wonderful beach frontage. amazing cocktail list, friendly staff and great shuttle bus service to the main shopping area. the restaurant was quite pricey, but the restaurant directly across the road from the hotel is brilliant value as an alternative. a great... more

Our family likes this hotel but there are problems
We've stayed at the Mercure Sanur several times since 2002. We've enjoyed our stays there. We find its gardens green, lush and pleasant. The beach has nice shade and plenty of trees. We find the staff friendly, though a bit too reserved at times. We had some troubles on our visit this past week which perhaps not every guest would experience: our room AC was not cold enough, even after being checked by the maintenance people. Quiet hotel with good beach location
Stayed at the Mercure for 10 nights following a short stop over in Kuala Lumpur. The hotel has a lovely open reception area and the tropical gardens around the grounds of the hotel are absolutely beautiful - colourful and very well kept. We were really here for a relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we got. Most of the day was spent on the beach in the shade of the trees, with a short sunbathe in the sun. Heaven on earth at the Mercure!
The Mercure Sanur was overall an amazing place to stay. The resort itself was totally picturesque and maintained to the highest standards, they are always tending to the grounds and watering the beautiful exotic flowers that grow around the resort. The Sanur beach is beautiful - clean white sands and palm trees! The sea does tend to go out a long way - but with two lovely pools to choose from, who needs the sea??
