Mercure Kuta Bali Hotel

We booked three rooms at the Mercure Kuta for the period of 16-19 August (3 nights), which is at very high season due to a national holiday, for just IDR560,000 nett (around USD60) from a local travel agency. The good and the bad: Very cheap rate inclusive of breakfast, but beware, the staff is VERY prompt in clearing the breakfast buffet which is at 10:00 am SHARP - they even start before the hour. As expatriates on an island 3 hours away we are regular visitors to Bali, passing through at least 4 times a year. The hotels and rooms in Bali for the most part are very much value for money in comparison to Europe. We stayed at the Mercure Hotel Kuta for 7 nights and it was great! the location is fantastic with easy access to restaurants and shopping while still being quite tranquil. the roof top pool is gorgeous and the staff are extremely friendly. this property is great value for money I really couldnt fault it at all. we will be staying there again for sure!

This property was better than expceted, as atravel agent you sell alot of hotels and I would defintely rate this hotel. For one it has great views from the Deluxe rooms on Level 4 where the pool and the Alung Alung Restarunt is. Staff is great always say hello and always ready to help you. Stayed here for 2 more nights after checking in at All Seasons at Legian. The superior room that we have was quite small compared to All Seasons. Loved the bathroom door but its small. The swimming pool is fantastic, overlooking the open sea. The bbq dinner was superb and fantastic with the traditional dance. Location wise, near to McD and Pizza Hut, of course, Hard Rock.

For anyone accustomed to Japanese capsule hotels, a “deluxe” room at the Mercure Hotel in Kuta might seem spacious. For a small person, traveling alone and with minimal baggage, the room would probably be perfectly adequate. But for a couple, traveling with enough belongings for a week long trip, the room is hopelessly small, cramped and poorly designed, (The same goes for the adjoining bathroom: if you want to fill the bath, you need to climb in to the tub to reach the plug.) I like the location. It's very easy to move around and to shop. The hotel room itself is a little small but I think it's ok. The facilities are good. The view from the roof near the pool was nice. The rate is affordable. I had a good stay!

If you are looking for a very reasonable priced hotel in Kuta, then Mercure does not disappoint. The location is great, just next to Hard Rock Hotel, Pizza Hut and McDonald and 5 minutes from Kuta's main shopping areas. The hotel also has a restaurant at the same level of the swimming pool on the 4th floor where you can dine and if you get the window seat, you can watch the ocean as well. The Mercure is located centrally in Kuta, near Kuta Square and next to the (more luxurious) Hard Rock Hotel. In the vacinity you will find two McDonalds, a Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Starbucks. The beach is just across the road. The busy nightlife of Kuta is a mere stones throw away. The hotel itself is NOT a resort. It is what it is: a hotel. Nothing fancy and nothing special. I absolutely loved the Mercure Kuta. The location is fantastic and the standard of accommodation is second to none. I cannot see how you could class it 2 star rating. I have seen many hotels in bali and have falling in love with this one. If you want great value for money, great location, friendly staff and lovely accommodation than this is for you.
