Sofitel Atrium Hotel Budapest

Because I was able to get a prepaid 99 Euro/night deal, I have absolutely no real complaints about the hotel. To get a 4-star hotel for 99 Euros is fantastic.
Excluding price, though, there was some room for improvement.
The positives:
The Sofitel is right on the Danube (you can upgrade to a room with a view of the Danube, which is sure to be exceptional). It's on the Pest side of the river, which gives great access to the tourism spots in Buda, but is closer to Pest, where visitors are more likely to eat/go out/etc.
The room itself was great - very large with a fabulous bed, lovely furniture, and great Roger & Gallet bathroom products.
The negatives:
Even the non-smoking rooms smelled a bit like a dirty ashtray, which was disappointing. We're fast becoming smoking snobs and Budapest is a *very* smoky city.
The internet services were kind of a disaster. In-room wireless amounted to about £6/hour for internet. They round up in 15 minute increments, so if you check your email 4 different times, it's a £6 for just a few minutes. It's such a silly charge - they should just charge something reasonable for 24 hours and call it a day.
The concierge was... mediocre, at best. We had better luck with our Lonely Planet guide.
Bottom line is that it was totally fine. Nothing exceptional. If we go back to Budapest, we'd probably stay elsewhere unless we could get a similarly low rate.
