Awesome
We intially stayed in a different hotel which didnt meet our standard. When we were looking for other hotel at Monkey Forest, our travel agent recommended Pertiwi and Ubud Village. We looked at both and decided to move to Pertiwi becasue the garden was nicer and they have two pools. We stayed for four nights and later had our relatives stayed there too. I think they have changed a bit becasue we stayed at deluxe room and had TV. Our room faced the pool and a small river. We also had a small terrace with a lazy chair. Their villas... more
Quite and peaceful place in the heart of Ubud
Very nice value for money hotel. We've stayed there in low period, so we felt that hotel is at our disposal. Good pools, lush garden, quite and peaceful place... Great location close to Monkey forest, good for shopping. The room was basic but clean. So if you want luxury accommodation, find another place to stay. Staff was very friendly, breakfast was fine. That was very pleasant stay. Just advice: if you want to buy souvenirs, do it in Ubud. You will not find such variety and price in other place.
Pertiwi, the Good and the Bad
The Pertiwi Hotel and Spa has a wonderful location in the middle of Ubud and yet when staying there, it seems miles away from the hustle and bustle of the Monkey Forest Rd. It is a 3star place, so no TV, no safedeposit box in the room and only one key per room. We had a deluxe room which was fine and as previously mentioned, the bathrooms need upgrading. At the back of the property , the villas are being upgraded and will certainly be rated as 4-5 star. There are 2 swimming pools and the gardens throughout the place are lovely.
A Calm, Serene Oasis
Since it was my first trip to Bali, I really had no expectations about the quality of service and amenities in that area. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived because Pertiwi looked lush and grand once you walk past the reception area. A spacious garden landscape comprised of balinese religious sculptures, an inviting pool and garden villas that reflect native architecture surround you while walking to your accommodations. Our deluxe accommodations were above average and without a television which is good because it might distract... more
Horrid, dirty and nasty, don't stay here
Although its right in the centre, its very dirty. My room was very smelly, and there was a farm yard next door, so the noise was remarkable, especially with the screaching cat all night long, every night. The doors didn't shut properly, so mosquitoes would fly in at will and when we asked to have our rooms sprayed, the staff thought we were mad. The sheets were smelly and dirty, my bathroom smelt like it had never been cleaned, and was a vile experience. Do not stay here.
Fantastic Location
Stayed here late August '07 the room was very good, however, the bathroom could do with modernisation. The gardens are absolutely stunning and it is worth the time to explore. The dining facility attached is extremely modern and almost out of character with the rest of Ubud but the staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was adequate.
ubud a must visit
If your looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in Ubud then Pertiwi is a good choice. It is situated in the perfect place for shopping. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, and the gardens are very nice. I think it is generally rated as a three start property but I think it is nicer then that, definatley good value for money.
Beautiful gardens!
We stayed at the resort for 3 nights, in a superior room. Although the room was beautiful, it seemed like they ran out of money when it came to the bathroom. Very old and worn down. Also, the room was extremely noisy. We could hear exactly what the fight our German neighbours had was about. Very annoying. The gardens are absolutely beautiful! Nice swimming pools, and at the back, you just walk right into the sawa's. (Although not a good choice when in a wheelchair, due to the amount of steps everywhere)The staff was pleasant at all... more
All very nice, except for the...
Stay at the standard room, a groundfloor unit (for the double/queen size bedroom). Since it was a groundfloor unit, the windows was a bit lacking, so the room was not as bright as we would have liked it to be. Another minus for the room was the bathroom! They really need to be upgraded! It's so old (the fittings, all of them looked so wore out!) More amenities would have help, like maybe a wash basin inside the bathroom, instead of needing to wash my hand with the basin outside the bathroom after I "go"! Ha! And for the 3 nights we stayed,... more
Another Great Hotel choice
Location is GREAT! Right in the middle of everywhere; from local massages to markets. The room is really cute, secluded and relaxing. There are two different pools. Both pools have a good size. The hotel is adjacent to a fine dining restaurant with great taste but it's a little pricey. I do recommend.
