Le Meridien Beach Resort Hotel Reviews

9 / 10
Sep 2008,

We stayed here in October 2002, I know this is a long time ago and things can change a lot in those years but we really enjoyed our stay. Staff are really friendly and most speak fairly good English. Tried my first Sushi in the Japanese retaurant, and Lobster in the fish... more

private beach
My wife and I haved stayed on a number of occations, having traveled to many asian and world destiations including maui (hawaii). It is the best hotel and location, by any world standards, golf driving range, archery, snokering, good wave for surfing. We hope all are well in and out side this superb resort. see you all in sept 05.
Perfect location for a holiday in Phuket
This little hide away of a hotel is idea for a stay in Phuket if you want to be away from it all with its only private beach but just a five minute ride in a tuk tuk to the centre of Patong for the hustle and bustle with the street markets and many bars. Although a modern hotel it boasts a beautiful setting and idyllic private beach, a selection of restaurants, all serving top class cuisine. But be sure to make a reservation at the restaurant of your choice early in the day at peak times! We stayed over the Christmas period and although the hotel was full, we received excellent service throughout our stay. Great facilities and with an added bonus of the baby elephant wondering the grounds! All in all, this hotel is great if you are wanting alittle bit of luxury whilst you experience the delights of Phuket. I would definitely stay there again and the sea view rooms are worth it for some amazing sunsets, but then again you can't beat sitting on the beach sipping on a cocktail watching the sun go down which is what you will experience if you stay at teh Le Meridien.
Want to go back again
My husband & I stayed at this hotel which was recommended to us by our travel agent, we originally wanted to stay at the Holiday Inn, and thank god we listened to him. This hotel has its own private beach, water sports, drinks readily available also no hasselling by hawkers at all, lovely pool, breakfast was fantastic, whatever you could imagine was available, the hotel restaurants were pretty good however we found some great seafood restaurants in patong and pretty much ate there every night. The rooms were always clean and tidy, well stocked with everything from fresh water daily to flowers on our beds each day. Originally wanted an ocean view room, but husband didnt, but didnt need it anyhow as we spent minimal time in the room anyhow., too busy shopping and swimming. Found the staff exellent, very trustworthy and helpful. Stayed at quite a few hotels and really have nothing bad to say about this one, would definitely come and stay here again. Patong beach is only a few minutes down the road, and tuk tuks are plentiful. This was my first time in Phuket, at first I didnt really like it but a few days later I got to love it. We cant wait to go back again. Recommend day trips to the islands they are beautiful.
would love to go back Excellent!
My husband and I stayed at Le Meridian October 2002 and had a wonderful time it was the best holiday that we have had. We've been to the Carribean and Mexico etc but Phuket beats them handsdown. The food and service were wonderful we hardly eat out anywhere else as there was no need to, there were plenty of restaurants to choose from. It was Halloween and I remember the spooky style buffett food and the dancers doing Michael Jackson thriller they were really good. The staff were wonderful, even caring about my red sunburn! We had been out on a boat trip and I hadn't really felt hot because of the breeze and wondered why people were staring at me until I got to my room and looked in the mirror!! Beetroot!! I loved the baby elephant Molly and have a photo of her giving me a kiss, but I expect she is not a baby now! We went on great trips riding an elephant, temples, boat trips etc and got some great bargain shopping in Patong. I can still remember some of the tour people, one man was called "Sonny" and a young man who had come to live south with all his family he was really sweet, I hope they and the team are all ok. I also had a portrait drawn from a photo by the guys in the foyer which has proud place on my bedroom wall. Anyway I hope the hotel is soon up and running it is all so very sad for all affected by the Tsumani and we will definitly visit
Fabulous hotel
Stayed in Le Meridien on November 22th-26th. The hotel itself and the surrounding property is beautiful and well taken care of. The hotel has its own private beach which is great since you can just lie out in the sun without being bothered. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and gracious, a very refreshing experience compared to US hotel staff. We got upgraded to a suite, which was also very nice, since all suites have private balconies. The pools are huge and very impressive, and the lifeguards are always keeping a watchful eye on all swimmers. There is a super-cute baby elephant that you can pet, a hotel worker brings him out to the lobby sometime in the morning, a great photo-op. The food is a bit overpriced and drinks are watered down (except for Long Island Iced Tea...), but do order La Fiamma pizza, it's delicious. Overall there is about 8 restaurants to choose from, but food is better and less expensive in town. This is an excellent hotel, with great staff and amentities and I would love to come back there again if I get a chance.
Excellent Hotel
My husband and I spent stayed in the hotel for Christmas and the New Year on two occasions. We enjoyed it very much the staff were wonderful, rooms lovely and food excellent. We hope all the staff are safe as we made friends with many of them. We will return during 2005 to give them our support.
Absolutely Sensational
My girlfriend and I stayed at Meridien Phuket for 11 nights in Aug 2004... can't really say much other than we loved every single second of it. Ocean view room on the 6th floor overlooking the pool was beautiful - the room itself had been recently refurbed and was stunning, as was the bathroom. Service and facilities all exemplary - the private beach in particular makes Meridien Phuket THE place to stay - in the early mornings on several days we had the entire beach to ourselves, and during the day there was always plenty of room, and no harrassment from the beach side vendors you find in Patong (and none of the polution either!). Quick tuk tuk ride away from Patong. Restaurants generally OK - buffet breakfast at Tonson fantastic value, and the pizza bar on the beach makes the best seafood pizza I've ever had. Much cheaper food of similar/better quality can be found in Patong (at places like Sabai Sabai which was excellent) though you can't beat the convenience of strolling downstairs and having such a wide selection of food... I would recommend visitors to check the weekly newsletter which contains details of food and drink offers (such as half price drinks at Tonson Bar in the evenings). Or, you can always visit the small local market at the driveway entrance up from Meridien, where you can buy a Heineken for $1.50 AUD.... Meridien Phuket WAS THE BEST!!! We're about to book for it's April re-opening to support the hotel and the local community. I cannot recommend this place highly enough for couples or families.
fantastic hotel
we stayed at this hotel from the 16-23rd december 2004 so thankfully just missed the tsunami. we feel very lucky to have left 3 days before disaster struck. what a fantastic place, rooms great, food and service excellent, location wonderful, staff cant do enough to help, and the best childrens club i have seen. We cant wait to return again and hope to very soon.
Hope to visit again
My family and I stayed at the Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort last November, and we loved it. My parents-in-law who're in their seventies as well as my husband, and my eight month old baby. We had a great time -- and there were so many things to do within the resort, that we hardly stepped out of the place throughout the four days we were there. It's the ideal place for the entire family. The Thai cooking lessons at the restaurant facing the sea was amazing, and the food incredible. We dined at a different restaurant every night. We would love to visit the property again, and we would like the hotel management and staff that they're in our thoughts during this difficult period and we wish them all the best in their efforts to restore the beauty of Phuket.
Best Wishes to the staff of Le Meridien Phuket
We stayed at this hotel a year ago and have been very anxious to hear about how the staff, guests and buildings fared in the recent tsunami disaster. We had a fantastic time at this lovely place: everything about it was top class, despite the somewhat aged buildings. We just hope the hotel can continue despite the terrible events of Boxing Day.
