Laguna Beach Resort Hotel

My family have just enjoyed two weeks at the Laguna Beach Hotel and are still talking about it! My Kids (girl 15 and boy 12) who are hard to please found more than enough to do and loved the daily visits of Anna the elephant. The water park kept us all amused with the water slide and activities (including the daily water polo match). We have just returned home after spending two weeks at the luguna beach resort. The resort facilties are fantastic & keep the kids well amused. All staff were fantastic & bent over backwards to help or assist you in anyway. The only down fall against the hotel that we found was the cost of the food & drink. Try the resturants & bars on the beach as they are a third of the cost of the hotel. You may wait a little longer for your food to arrive being low season but it is well worth the wait. We stayed at the Laguna Beach for 4 nights in mid July and had a great time. As everyone says - Anna the elephant was a hit with the kids. We enjoyed the pool and pool slide, the staff at the kids club were very friendly and helpful - the kids cried as they left on the last day. The kids club also offer 2 evening sessions each week so that we got a night to ourselves. We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Laguna Beach Resort in Phuket. The Resort is by no means 5 star (4 is pushing it also). The rooms were tired looking although clean and serviced at least twice a day but the whole resort needs a makeover. We had a ocean facing room on the second floor which smellt moldy and we had problems with sewage smells coming from our toliet. I think one of the sewage pipes was leaking downstairs. If you are looking for a great place to take the kids away from the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach, then Laguna Beach is the place for you. We booked a family room which was extra large. It had 2 queen beds and the option for a rollaway, however the rooms have a liitle raised area for relaxation with a mattress, so we put our third child there. The hotel made up the bed free of charge. The hotel is expensive to eat at but there are several resturaunts run by locals on the beach. They serve only the freshest food at a very cheap... more

I stayed here for two weeks in June 07 with my hubby, 16 year old and 10 year old. The resort is spectacular, fantastic pool and jaccuzi, beautiful grounds and gardens. The ferry to the other Laguna hotels is a great idea. The resident baby elephant Anna, was a highlight of the holiday for us. My 10 year old son got to ride her in the ocean one afternoon, holding onto her ears as she swam underwater in the ocean was an experience he well treasure for his lifetime... Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights; was enjoying it so much extended for a further two days. I have a three year old and five year old who loved Anna the elephant and spent hours and hours going down the slide. The food was good but expensive. We ate out most of the time at a great resturant that is on the beach at the back of the hotel. I think it was called Tom Yam Goong! The food was great and about a third of the price of the hotels. Been to Laguna Beach 5 times now as it does cater well for families. However it is now in dire need of a genral makeover. On my last visit i paid extra to upgrade my room to a delux as the room I was given was located very far away from any facilities, the room was also the old style pre - refurb and poor quality. The food is average and expensive and I always use the restaurants in the local village, The Black Cat is best ! Adelaide South Australia We are a family of 5 and stayed at the Laguna Beach resort for 8 nights. Upon arrival we were greeted by there friendly staff and given a light refreshment. We were then escorted to our rooms which we had requested 2 superior connecting rooms as our children are under 12 years of age. The rooms very clean and well layed out. The staff were fantastic. Stayed 5 nights in a Lagoon Studio (2ad, 2ch). Excellent rooms, pools, slide, elephant, breakfast, ... ALL. The only problem is the high prices in hotel restaurants. We tried also the local restaurants on the beach but the food is in much lower quality. Regarding prices it worths to eat outside. The beach on the front of the hotel is very good.
