Paradise with a capital P!
from kagsy
We stayed in Phi Phi Island Village for 5 nights in the middle of January this year....how we wished we had been there longer. We had a beachfront cottage which was the most expensive but well worth it and was spotless. The food was great as were the cocktails and staff really couldn't do enough to help. We had dinner on our balcony......fantastic! English could be a bit of an issue but if they didn't understand you they just got someone that did. We travelled on to Koh Ngai from Phi Phi and the staff organised our transfer at a greatly reduced rate than the staff at Koh Ngai would have, (Koh Ngai told us this), can't wait to go back!!!
Perfect Honeymoon
from needhelpOC
We we staying at the Phi Phi Island Village over christmas for our honeymoon. It was absolutely perfect place for us. The rooms was very clean with a thai twist. Flowers everywhere on arrival, even in the toilet. All the staff we very friendly and accomodating, my husband had a very bad tooth ache and they arrange to get medicine from the town for us, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food at the restaurant was lovely. I have to say we didnt go to the expensive one, as we tried and there was no veggie food for us. But we ate at the other restaurant where the food was very reasonable, lots of variety and very accomodating. They all knew we were vegatarian and did all they could for us. We hired a long boat on two occassion, which worked great for us. You can tell them exactly where you want to go. They stop at the beaches and snokelling spots for as long as you want. We found this was cheaper than going on group tours and you are not restricted to working to their schedule. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet holiday this is perfect. I would highly recommend it, i cant wait to go back!!!
Lovely place - shame about the food and the service
from A TripAdvisor Member
Totally agree with the last review. The location of the resort and its facilities are stunning but the food is totally mediocre and overpriced (so are the spa services, transportation etc.). However, the cocktails at the pool bar were quite enjoyable. Furthermore, the resort had some service problems. For example I asked for a doublebed, but at first they gave me a bungalow with two small beds. I had to asked them twice before they changed it. The new bungalow had quite a smelly bathroom. Furthermore I told them two times in the evening before my check out that I need the 1.30 PM ferry (they told me that there is one at 1.30). Nevertheless, the next morning they woke me up at 7.30 AM and asked whether I take the 9 AM ferry. Moreover, it turned out that there actually was no 1.30PM ferry but only one at 2PM so I almost missed my flight from Krabi. Given the price for accomodation, these incidents were quite annoying. By far the best service I had in Thailand was in the Cliff Resort in Ao Nang. Also the food there was very nice and not overpriced. However, due to the stunning location of Phi Phi Island Village it is definately worth checking it out for a couple of nights. But don't expect too much from food and service.
Blissful - Can't wait til we can return

We had to tear ourselves away from this most spectacular resort two weeks ago and we're still feeling pangs of separation. We spent a few glorious nights in a beachfront bungalow and our only complaint was that we couldn't have extended our stay. The staff go way above and beyond the call of duty - they clearly love working there and they are very warm and welcoming. The food is delicious. Our room was impeccably clean and stunning and we loved arriving to find beautiful flowers all over. The view from our room was dreamier than any dream I've ever had. We loved the pool and swim-up pool bar. The scuba instructors are great - friendly and very well-informed. This is a wonderful, quiet, private resort. We were thrilled to escape the loud nightlife of Ao Nang and to find ourselves at this blissful retreat. Hoping to return soon...and for a much longer stay.
Lovely place - shame about the food
from LouiseI
We stayed here for 6 nights in December. We had a beachfront studio which was lovely - beautifully cleaned everyday with flowers left on the bed. The beach and pool were also fabulous. The only let down was the food - not only was it expensive but really westernised. I have to say the meal we had in their special thai restauarnt was the worst meal I had in thailand. However - the staff were lovely, especially Ton and Dhong in the Coconut bar who made us welcome every night. There is a band on at the restaurant most nights and then later at the bar - quite cheesy but as everyone is so friendly you soon end up making requests and singing along. Not really amazing nightlife though so if you want that go elsewhere. If you wanted to meet other holidaymakers you had to make an effort as most appeared to be couples on romantic breaks. We did a snorkelling trip to Phi Phi Lai which was really enjoyable - amazing corals and fish so looked like the diving would also be good.
Loved Phi Phi Island

Just got back from Phi Phi Island Village. We had a wonderful time and took full advantage of their divine spa. We also joined their Island explorer tour which was lots of fun and giving you opportunity to snorkel with beautiful fishes. My only critism is their food was very westernised even at their Thai restaurant. Dinner at the Thai restaurant which has a wonderful view is around £40- £50 for two with a bottle of wine. Also don't choose this hotel if you are looking for a busy nightlife. It is more suited for couples who want to relax and pamper themselves.
Beautiful but very quiet
from Ruby_Roo
We stayed here for 3 nights at the end on November and thought the resort was lovely but unfortunatly we had bad weather so relaxing & sunbathing by the pool was out of the question which we needed after spending 2 nights in Bangkok! We did take a longtail boat to Phi Phi Lei to do some snorkelling and see Maya Beach and visit the main town but apart from that there's not much else to do. The spa is expensive as are the restuarants (the food is good but compared to eating in the town it's quite pricey). Mosquito repellent is a must here.

What an absolutely stunningly beautiful place this resort is. Upon first sight from the boat approaching the beach you know you are about to be struck by something really really breathtaking. The resort occupies a whole beach on the north-est side Phi Phi island. The beach is pristine, with the bluest water I have seen anywhere. Just can't quite decribe how gorgeous this resort is. It was just really magical. The room was simple but efficient, they put lots of gorgeous flower on the bed and in every corner of the room, makes you wonder how many flowers they have to order everyday. Our bungalow had a partial view of the sea but is only a few steps to the water. You can sit outside under the private Sala that comes with the room to read during the day or to sip wine outside. The infinity-edged pool was lovely also, with a pool bar, jacuzzi area, and even a slide, for kids. We ate at the Thai restaurant in the resort and the food was very good. The restaurant is high up on a hill so you get a good view of the ocean and the garden. The menu here is not just the classic dishes but has a lot of modern twists and creative fares also, it was a very tempting menu, we wanted to order so many things from it, but could not because it was just the 2 of us. Service was also very impressive. All the staff are super friendly, always smiling and making conversation with us, they would even pick us up to take us to the restaurant. We went out and came back by speed boat in the evening, the tide was low so they even drove a big tractor type of vehicle into the sea to pick us up so we would not have to walk on the beach. How great was that!? Main grouse -- because the beach is private and there is nothing on this beach but the resort, there is no boat traffic coming into the beach unless it is a guest going to the hotel. While a private beach on an island is nice, getting out of here is extremely pricey. You're better off hiring a boat for half a day, but trying to go the a nearby beach one way is very expensive. Also, you won't find a place to mingle with people as you would on a beach with more restaurants, resorts and bars on it. But if you are there with a partner and you just want it to feel like the 2 of you, this is the perfect place. We even sat by the beach by night gazing at the stars together, falling asleep to the breeze, it was very romantic. If anyone is going to Phi Phi Island, I would definitely recommend Phi Phi Island Village to them. especially now that Ton Sai beach has been devastated by the Tsunami. This beach is still perfect, it is unspoilt and the resort is lovely. The simple island bungalow feel of the rooms keeps it from being a fancy 5 star resort, however, the experience you get by being here and the beauty of this place is more than most 5 star resorts can offer. This is a 4 star resort with a 6 star experience.

We stayed 4 nights at the Phi Phi Island Village resort & spa. I wish we had stayed longer. Beautiful grounds, our bungalow was perfect (4th row from the ocean), quiet and peaceful. the food was great and affordable, the staff exceeded all our expectations. My partner took an introductory scuba dive witht he dive shop and it was incredible for someones first dive. I have dived all over the world and was very impressed with the dive operation and the beauty of the dive sites. I loved the pool too.
Fantastic experience

My partner and went there for our honeymoon and stayed at one of the villas. It was one of the best experiences we'e had. The villa had its own pool and a wonderful terrace where you could rest while overlooking the sea and the pool. The food was great especially the candle light dinner on the beach. The main pool is also awesome. It's shape like a flower and big enough so you can find a quiet corner to chill. The staff were very friendly too. We would definately be making a trip back soon.
